A friend turned me on to this place few years back. Not sure what the friend is up to these days but have become a regular of the place! It’s a very calm, enjoyable place, serving good Sushi, with very reasonable prices. Sushi is fishy smelling & expensive, right? Nope, not at this place … it’s all good, including the drinks! Awesome staff, always smiling & very people friendly. Thanks Happy Sushi.

One of my go to places… friendly relaxed atmosphere, they will adapt food orders to your requests. This is a community gathering place, it is not the Ritz, nor does it pretend to be. Try the fried cheesecake… it is awesome and it has 0 calories

I got the Pizza Roll and the quality of the roll was just ok. It was a lot smaller than what was shown in the menu or even what I expected. I also love garlic edamame but when I ate theirs it had a burnt oil taste to it like they used the same pan to cook it with over and over again without cleaning or rinsing it. Not sure if I came on a bad day but I don’t think I’ll be coming back to this place.

My husband and I heard about this restaurant from an old high school buddy. We went there to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We ordered a few rolls, a hand roll, musabi and the chicken wings. Oh my! I am still full and we went there 2 weeks ago! The 2 Chefs(I am sorry I lost the paper that had your names on it) at the sushi bar knocked it out of the park! They made my husband cry when he asked for the hottest sauce they had. The tempura cheesecake and beignets we had for dessert were mouth watering. 2 thumbs up from 2 fluffy foodies!

This place never disappoints! I recommend getting the gummy bear roll by far my favorite, I only been here three times so I am no expert. Service is top notch. Was greeted once I stepped my foot into the door :)

Not bad by any means, but not exceptional either. I like the Mira Mesa sushi roll. They have tons to choose from so it will take a while for you to get through the menu to judge for yourself. It’s a busy place with seemingly overworked waiters(tresses) but all in all it’s a convenient location for Mira Mesans and reasonably priced to boot.

I was super excited to see Shrimp Truck Garlic Shrimp in the Island section of their menu so ordered it and was very disappointed. First the shrimp were very small … about 1⁄3 of the size pictured. Second, they weren’t peel n’ eat as the description stated. Third, it was tossed in with a ton of sliced onions(probably to bulk up the dish). All this would have been fine if it tasted really good … it just tasted like shrimp scampi — nothing like the North Shore. The server was really nice and offered to replace the dish with something else but I was really hungry and didn’t want to wait. I think I’ll stick to their sushi rolls — lots of great ones to choose from!

Okay sushi and poke– didn’t look or taste fresh at all. I was happy to begin with but was a little upset after dining here. How do you run out of shrimp?! The interior is in need of a renovation. Servers are friendly but rarely come around until it’s time to pay lol. The TVs are flat screen but need to be replaced. There are other options within 15 miles or less that you must consider over this place. I don’t think I’ll be back here again. This was my second time and realized why I have met been here in what may have been over a year. Nothing as changed and neither has my impression of the place. The star rating is 3 as I do not have the option to provide a two and a half!

My husband and I come here when we want sushi but don’t feel like sitting in traffic on the way to our regular sushi spot. Usually, the service and the sushi are pretty tolerable. This time, we went for lunch and we were not very pleased. For one, the black table cloth was filthy! It had a bunch of white stains, that are probably from spilled drinks/sauces. The sushi rice was very dry, and the sushi rolls were very bland. I was bummed they were out of sauvignon blanc, too.(Hey, who doesn’t enjoy a glass of wine at lunch?) The service was incredibly slow too. At first, I thought there was just 1 server for the entire restaurant at lunch,(which was pretty slow), but then a second appeared time to time. In conclusion, come at your own risk. Don’t expect amazing rolls from here.

Came here with coworkers for lunch and we sat at the bar. This was my first time and I really liked it here. They were willing to help me out with my food allergies and everything was great! The staff was very friendly. One of my coworkers comes here often and knew the employees. I hope to come back again soon.

My favorite sushi Chef is Charl. He makes the best rolls and he’s pretty sick to hang out with at the bar. My favorite roll is the Dynamite Roll. It’s very flavorful and they pack on the seafood! It takes a bit longer than other rolls I believe. They recently changed their menu pricing from buy two get one free to overall lowering the prices of the rolls. It’s actually cheaper and you’re not handcuffed into ordering multiples of three rolls. To-go is really quick and efficient. Call ahead and pick up in 15 minutes!

I came to Happy sushi because it was picked by some friends whom love this sushi spot. The server was really great from beginning to end as initially we were waiting for 2 other friends, but we got started and ordered appetizers in the meantime while waiting then the sushi rolls later. He gave fab service always checking up also he was smiley and friendly! FOOD I TRIED: Appetizers: –Calamari –Chicken Karaage –Jalapeño Poppers Sushi Rolls: ~Mexically Roll ~Pizza Roll ~Dynamite Roll ~Gummy Bear Roll I was impressed with each item I tried at Happy Sushi. If I had to narrow it down when I return I would probably get the the Dynamite Roll(Krab, avocado, cream cheese, topped w/a baked scallop dynamite & sweet sauce) and the Pizza Roll(A baked roll with salmon, avocado, krab, cream cheese w/dynamite & sweet sauce. Raw fish). The sushi prices are reasonable and the Happy Sushi will make you leave feeling full and happy.

I come here all the time to grab a quick bite when I’m craving for sushi. Only 5 minutes from my house so easy go to too fulfill my sushi craving. Majority of the time I order togo & the servers who answer the phone are very polite. They use to have a buy 2 get 1 free deal with their sushi rolls but they no longer have that deal but the rolls are all priced to an average of $ 7-$ 9. I think is a really good deal & their hand rolls are only $ 2-$ 3 in my opinion is a steal! Hand rolls are my favorite & they don’t skimp on the portions in the hand rolls either! They use«five star» as their loyalty point program. You obtain points with every purchase dine in or take out & redeem them. I don’t know the exact point system but you can redeem for specific appetizers or a free roll if you have enough points! Always great, quick service. Servers are attentive but not too attentive where they are constantly interrupting your conversations & meals(small pet peeve of mine). Sometimes food takes a little while to come out but not so long that I’ll be a stickler about it, so overall always a very satisfied experience here.

Had a great early working dinner here with a big group. Our server was very nice and went out of his way to accommodate our separate checks request– which was very much appreciated as we all had to leave at different times. I really enjoyed the sashimi salad($ 12) which was a generous portion, topped with tasty and fresh chef’s choice sashimi, and an unexpected seaweed salad which was a happy addition. The salmon collar $ 8.50 with $ 1.50 side of rice was massive and über delicious. They didn’t have the hamachi collar(which I would have preferred) though the salmon was really good. Since we had salad first we felt liberated to order the collar fried, — so satisfying… Having said that, the grilled option looked really good too. I might have to try that next time! And when you are in the mood for fried chicken, they still offer the KFC even though it isn’t on the menu(Korean Fried Chicken) just ask for it.

I’ve been to happy sushi twice and each time was great. Affordable prices, attentive service, relaxing and clean atmosphere and most importantly good food. I’ve had the mira Mesa roll a long time ago and all I remembered was that i liked it. We had a teriyaki chicken plate that comes with complimentary miso soup and their house salad. We also had the dynamite roll. First I had the soup which was a good portion size and fillings. The salad was so good! I especially liked the dressing. When the plate came out I was a disappointed. There was about 5 little strips of chicken mixed with mostly vegetables drenched in the teriyaki sauce. Where is all the chicken?!? The dynamite roll was good. A lot of flavor! A think it was a little too much because I could only eat 2 pieces. And finished my cup of water after each bite. I would definitely come back another time.

This is my go to sushi spot in Mira Mesa. This place used to have a buy 2 get 1 free sushi roll deal but I think they got rid of this deal. However, they changed their prices for the rolls so it evens out. I’ve tried most of their sushi rolls here and most of them are really good. I usually order the Mira Mesa Roll, Mexicali Roll, White Dragon Roll and other rolls I just can’t remember the names. But these rolls are the ones we always order every time I come here with my wife and friends. They have TVs in here and it’s pretty spacious. The prices and service are really good. I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re craving sushi and in the Mira Mesa area. I’ll definitely be back again soon.

This is my go to sushi place when I’m in the Mira Mesa area. First of all, all the workers are super nice and for the most part, service is pretty fast. I think maybe only once service was really slow but i think there were a lot of newbies. Food is great here. My favorites are the happy roll, Mira Mesa roll and Mexicali roll. The garlic edemame is good too. They used to have a deal of buy 2 rolls get 1 free. They no longer have that deal but the rolls are a little cheaper now. I would recommend this place if you’re craving sushi. It’s not too bad on the wallet.
