Nice chill place, people that work here are super nice. But if you order food expect it to take forever

I came here for the Natalie Emmons, Organic Alliance and Trishes show. This place is pretty cool, they have some interesting décor. I won a tiny shirt in the raffle lol, I also won some CD’s which was cool. It was kind of weird how the raffle was run, because I had 801, 802, 803 usually in raffles tickets are more scattered, though again I won stuff so I guess I can’t complain. I got the Buffalo chicken panini which I thought was good.

I showed up with a coupon and some places seem less than thrilled when you have one but the staff were genuinely pleasant. I tried the dirty chai which is a coffee/chai blend and it was great. The food was comfort food style — the chipotle quesadillas were fantastic. But what I really liked was the décor. This lounge is near the New School of Architecture and Design and the place is covered with art by students. Art that is worth seeing. Its kind of like having a meal in a gallery. It was great! I found myself gawking at the magnificent oversized hand-painted portrait of David Bowie that was behind the register. It made me think of the film Labyrinth where the little worm invites the protagonist inside for some tea. And there I was drinking(chai) tea! So Hart Lounge is what the little worm’s house looked like! Come inside, meet the Missus!

I come in here very often as I live close by. My favorite place to come when I’m lazy and don’t feel like cooking at home :) I also love the open mic nights, it usually always has a great crowd and lively vibe! Overall the food is great and the employees are always so helpful!

I’ve heard about Hart Lounge from a friend about a year ago and attended a few open mic nights and every time have had a great experience with their friendly staff, always feel welcomed. Very clean, spacious lounge with a super chill vibe, love the décor. Haven’t tried the food but they have a good selection of hookah which is well attended and I like being able to enjoy a drink here without all the fuss of downtown!

I love this place! The best chai lattes and Mexican chocolates I’ve had ever. Super friendly staff and fun atmosphere on Friday and Saturday nights. My favorite is the Monday night comedy and mecheladas.

I come to this place mostly because it is across the street from school. Some of the staff are very rude. There is one girl in particular who is probably the most unfriendly and unprofessional human being I’ve ever had to talk to. She acts like you’re inconveniencing her day by coming into the coffee shop. The food is inconsistent in portion(for example their sandwiches are served in sourdough bread. If you’re familiarized with sourdough loafs you know that the ends are smaller than the middle. This means that if they make your sandwich with the sides of the loaf you’re just S.O.L.) Any how if you go to that place because of a situational condition(i.e. it’s convenient) its understandable.

Stopped by for a latte(to go) on Monday night. Latte was standard, nothing special. Staff was helpful and attentive. At the time, there was stand up comedy going on. I could see it as a good meet up place with friends to hang out and catch up.

We visited this place three days ago and the guy that was there was very nice,(I think he said his name was«Jona») I read other comments and maybe they’ve changed employees because this guy made us feel very comfortable and welcomed. The music was pleasant it was not like other places, it felt like I can really bring a book or pc and relax. I’m looking forward to this Friday’s karaōke night! Prices are reasonable and the buffalo chicken panini was delicious!

Very disappointed !! The girls are not nice, we asked for games she said it’s put away OOOKAY. I got over charged the day before the service from Jon was so great. The couch the pillow is coming out the inside. Hookah choices limited a hookah place should never have limited even if they want to sale their product. No soup don’t advertise things that aren’t on menu come on. I hate to say it but I didn’t like it. Owner looks like he puts thought into his business nice decorations and everything good luck hope it better

What can I say good about this place? Absolutely Nothing. The employees act like it’s social hour all the time and do not pay attention to the customers. This place is dirtier than most Coffee Lounges I have been in. I seriously doubt it’s kept to health code standards. The coffee is not even mediocre. Food tastes nastier than pre-made 7 – 11 sandwiches. They offer WiFi but is impossible to get a quality signal for any length of time. The Owner has no class and is unprofessional as it gets. In conclusion this place is in the lower echelon of Coffee Lounges in town. Avoid this place if you can.

It’s a decent place. Allow me to say that first, but the staff is aloof and inattentive. I’ve been 4 times and had similar experiences. Though moderately priced, that seems overshadowed by the lack luster service. I felt like a had to track the staff down and they did little to attend to the hookah, which was the point of me being there. I liked the décor but as a lounge, it leaves something to be desired.

I absolutely LOVE the Hart Lounge. I stumbled along this place on a Friday night about a month ago. Being new to San Diego, I am trying to find«my go to spots». This has quickly become one of those spots. Not only does the Hart lounge have an open mic night on Friday’s with a wide range of San Diego’s up & coming talent, it also has delicious & healthy food. Staff at the Hart are friendly & attentive. Especially one of the servers, Mellie. She made me feel right at home. I told her I was looking for something healthy to munch on & a refreshing adult beverage. She recommended the house made organic hummus with fresh cut veggies. Also brought me The Paloma, a refreshingly light tequila based mixer with grapefruit juice & soda water. Just what I was looking for. Tim, who runs the open mic was also extremely welcoming & encouraged me & all the newbies to come back again to the Friday night open mic’s. I now find the Hart Lounge is one of the things I look forward to most during the long work week. I highly recommend stopping by on a Friday or any night for good food, drinks & excellent service. Oh & forgot to mention, they have Hooka!!!

hART Lounge is my favorite place in San Diego! Their food is fresh and healthy… without tasting healthy. My favorite is the burrito with chicken, or the nachos. Arturo and Minerva, who own the restaurant, are the nicest people. The coolest part about hART Lounge is the atmosphere. They support local artists by displaying paintings, and hosting open mic nights on Fridays. I recently directed a short play, and hART Lounge donated their space! It was the perfect setting, and everything went perfectly. I LOVEHARTLOUNGE!

Love this place! I wish it was open more… it’s my only gripe. They have THE best dirty chais in the entire city here. Hands down.

Amazing place to go if you are in need of a chill atmosphere and some good food. The service is always friendly and fast. I normally order the jasmine green tea and a Greek revival panini, and am never disappointed. The place has become my new addiction and I always stop by when walking my boyfriend to school as it’s right across the street.

All this place needs is more people to know it exists. It is a delightful hodgepodge of food, coffee, drinks, hookah, music, and events. It has the potential to be a really great cultural go-to spot in the city. Who knows, in a few months this’ll be where you go to meet that art curator who throws the secret parties, or the friend of the B-list actor shooting a short film in town. It has that vibe, and, like I said, a lot of potential to be a really interesting center for the community. As for the portion sizes mentioned in other reviews, they are adequately sized. It’s just that we’re just used to ridiculously large plates when we eat out here in the good olé’ USA.

Wow wow wow, I all I could say when last night finally decided to enter Hart Lounge as I felt a welcoming vibe coming out the door. First of all, I discovered this coffee-shop-hooka-place a while ago because in one of the walls, outside, you can see one of the prettiest graffitis in town, by street artist Persue. Going there to take pics and admire the joie de vivre allowed me to see this bar that did not look so promissory to me a year ago. Last night, however, I noticed the whole revamping done: design chairs imitation leather in black and white, different tables of diverse sizes and materials, brushes decorating the bottom of the main entrance, a hookah room with lots of character, killer ranchero boots as decorating next to the Christmas tree, books related to art, comics and architecture. My type of place, totally! Tupac as background was a great musical choice for the night too! We got a couple of cappuccinos and a cookie, just because we just had dinner, otherwise I would have definitively tried one of the items in their menu. The folks working there are very chill and emanate good vibes too! They told us about the Friday open mike nights as well as the Monday movie nights. It is just an awesome place to hang out, and at night has this magical light when you seat facing the windows and checking the trolley passing by. This is for now on one of my favorite places in East Village to get my coffee and more. And I am very much looking forward the Posadas party on Dec 15th!

So, this place just re-opened right around the corner from where I live. it’s right next to the new school, and it has a great vibe. The interior décor is way chill with a lot of cool art. They have a little hooka chill area also. The food is Great! It’s really cheap too, and not like fast food cheap. It’s really good for you and they source it locally and responsibly. I can’t wait till they serve beer and wine. the owner said they would have it soon. Way to go hArt! A definite hangout for me now.

My office came across a nice girl with a very appetizing menu from the Hart Lounge, so we convinced our boss to buy us lunch! On the menu, it stated that we could call, text or tweet our orders. We called and got a non-working number and texted with no response. So finally, we went to the actual restaurant to place our order. The facility seem to be pretty vacant since this place is fairly new. Nevertheless, it still took them a FULLHOUR before we got our order. Absolutely unacceptable especially when they said it would be ready in 20 minutes! We ordered a variety of what sounds-like-delicious sandwiches and wraps but lets just say, we all felt bamboozled when we got our food. When the to-go boxes were opened, we found barbie-sized tapas – not actual sandwiches(check out my pic). The chips & salsa that accompanied the teeny sandwich was ridiculous! There was a total of like 6 chips and a teaspoon of salsa. I’m not only disappointed by their service and portion size, but with the actual quality of the food. My chicken sandwich was greasy and lacked actual flavor. I don’t think I will be returning for a 2nd try… too bad because their menu have good potential.
