Haute Spa Salon

I bought a groupon for a Brazilian blowout and had never been to this salon. The salon itself was really nice. I’ve been getting blowouts for awhile and this one was the best! Gary was so thorough and I absolutely love the results! I will go back and recommend Gary to friends!

I went in for a gel manicure and nail technician did not appear too familiar with the process. Removal of the gel already on my nails resulted in a lot of scraping on my natural nail underneath. I asked to keep the same nail shape (almond) but my nails were cut into square. End result was ok but I wouldn’t recommend gel nail services.

Just had a Brazilian Blowout treatment with Gary this morning. Had never been to this salon before. Found a Groupon deal I couldn’t pass up and thought I’d give them a try.
Was pleasantly surprised. The salon is very well kept and Gary is a talented stylist! I love my hair! He was meticulous with the treatment and made certain I was happy with the result.
I will definitely be returning.

Unfortunately I do not share the same positive experience as the previous reviewers. I went in to get a Brazilian Blowout and while I thought he did a good job with it initially, it did not stay straight and sleek for long (went back to curls and frizz the next time I washed it)
I was also unimpressed with the cut he gave me (I actually had to have my friend reshape it afterwards) Gary is one of those hair dressers who does what he wants to do with your hair… not what you ask him to do. I’m all up for suggestions/​professional opinions BUT what the client ultimately wants should be what the stylist should do. I showed him a few pictures of what I was going for and I was displeased to see that is not what I ended up with… at all! I would’ve had him re-​do it, but I had already been there for hours and at that point I knew I couldn’t trust him to give me what I wanted.
Lastly, I did not appreciate the fact that he kept going on and on about how unhealthy my hair is. Okay Gary, I get it. My hair was frizzy… you don’t need to continuously remind me throughout our session (the reason I came to you is for you to fix it) Word of advice: try not to insult your clients! It tends to keep them from coming back.
Over all, I’m glad I got this on a Groupon. There’s no way I would’ve paid full price for the level of service I got! I am definitely NOT going back!

Narin did my highlights which turned out looking very natural. I’m very skeptical about getting highlights primarily because I don’t want to end up having striped hair. But it was time for a change. Narin did a great job of lightening my hair subtly enough but still gave me a fresh new look. I’m definitely coming back for my next ”maintenance’ appointment. PS — the salon is clean, cozy and cute.

Gel manicure looks fabulous. Found Haute Spa through groupon. Very clean and professional. Will definitely be booking again.

The owner cut my hair but did NOT do the color. I was well needed for a haircut and he helped my hair become healthy again. He gave me a student discount and was very friendly. I love it! I’m definitely going back.

Great place. Kind staff. Fast service! Norine did my gel nails and does a fantastic job. The atmosphere is nice with great views of downtown SanDiego. It’s located in Point Loma Village so walkability is wonderful. I highly recommend!

Got keratin treatment from Erica. Explained to her that it was my 4^th keratin treatment and all my frizz was mostly in roots.
She put the product claiming to be keratin complex. I washed my hair after 72hrs with a sulfate free shampoo, I’ve been using it since all my treatments.
First wash my hair were already crinky to my surprise and second wash all my frizz was back. $ 170 and 3hrs of treatment went in the drain. I texted Erica with my hair pics and instead of calling me in and fixing it she just blamed it on the shampoo.
I would not recommend going to this place — not for a keratin.

I got my eyelashes done and a spray tan with Melyssa. I loved both experiences! She is extremely friendly and makes you feel comfortable. I got my lashes done for the first time and I’m obsessed!!! She did an amazing job! I also never looked orange after my tan (which we all know is a concern). So that’s a plus! If you are looking for either of these services, or even some waxing or a facial, GO TO MELYSSA! She’s amazing! You won’t regret it! The Haute Spa is a beautiful location for a relaxing service!

I did my first Brazilian blowout with Gary and it’s the best decision I have ever made! I have thick, curly, dry hair and the blowout had made my hair so much softer and easier to manage. My curls are still there but not as tight and they are more soft. I am going to continue to do Brazilian blowouts for ever now:) you must go see Gary you will not regret it! Oh and it’s a cute little salon too:)

Great service at this salon! Narine matched my color perfectly. She’s very thorough making sure all is covered. The cuts & blow outs are great too. Nice, friendly atmosphere. Prices are good too.

Groupon led me to this place while searching for a Brazilian Blowout. I was skeptical trying a new salon let alone one that advertised on Groupon (BTW​.no offense Groupon, I love the deals for sure! Just that c’mon we’re talking about my hair here, and I’m sure the ladies will agree that we don’t trust Just Anyone with it).
So this was my first ever Brazilian Blowout and I’m beyond happy with the results. Both Gary and Narine were very welcoming which made it less nerve wrecking. I got it done 3÷3÷16 and still lovin it!
I’m a Latina with long natural curly and frizzy hair that has a mind of its own!
BEFORE the BB my routine was to blow dry my hair and then flat iron it to only walk outside and get that horrible frizz; worse yet those horrible little curlies all throughout my hairline ugghh! NOW my blow dry time is shorter and I have yet to use the flat iron. No frizz either, my hair is smooth and looks way more healthier too.
Also, Gary gives it to you straight! Haha!
He told me what to expect and I truly appreciate that. However, as with most things there kinda is a slight FYI; not calling it a ‘catch’ because it really isn’t, it’s just the truth. You have to do your part if you want to see lasting results. Gary recommended the Brazilian Blowout Shampoo & Conditioner (sulfate free), and I got both of them including the Serum.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how my hair turned out and I truly recommend Gary!

Ladies… if you need a brazillian blowout, GO SEE GARY! My hair is really long and hard to manage, and of all the blowouts I’ve had over the last 5 years, I can honestly say Gary is a miracle worker. Not only did he do an amazing job (and yes, he knew I was grouponing!), I could tell he truly cared about giving me the results I needed, without pushing me to buy products or commit to becoming a regular client. He was easy to talk to, and even gave me the down low on what I should expect for my next blowout with other stylists so I don’t get ripped off, since I let him know I’m moving soon. Bottom line, he cared about my hair, rather than simply doing it. I wasn’t just a number today, and I can’t say that for many other salons I’ve been to — thank you Gary! Super cute salon as well.

Gary was very friendly and did an amazing job. He cut all my damaged hair and left it beautiful and manageable. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good haircut!

Honestly, not impressed by this salon especially with better expectations from previous Unilocal reviews. I was a first time client and booked my appt online and called to confirm my time. The two people I spoke to in separate occasions were not pleasant and not helpful. My appointment was booked with a stylist that apparently only works there «once in a while». I needed to contact the stylist and the receptionist gave me the wrong phone number three times! So annoying !!!
Cancelled my appt– thanks for nothing.
Booked an appt real quick down the street they were super sweet and accommodating !

I found this salon on groupon for a $ 99 Brazilian blowout and I cannot speak enough good things on this place! I’ve gotten Brazilian blowers before and nothing has compared to this one. The customer service is great and my frizzy, damaged, unmanageable hair is now sleek, straight, and so soft! I will be coming back and if you’re looking for a salon to do this service, this is it!!! :)

Talk about full service! This salon offers everything from mani/​pedis to massages to spray tans! The moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and at ease. The owners are the sweetest couple and are absolutely wonderful! They offered me coffee, tea, water, wine… so clearly I chose wine.
Narine did a gel manicure as well as a pedicure for me and my roommate and they turned out amazing! I didn’t feel rushed at all and I had a marvelous time talking to her.
The salon in general has a great atmosphere and I hope to be coming back for a haircut or another manicure soon!

From the moment you walk in, you’re completely at ease. Although the space is trendy and amazing — it feels welcoming and hospitable. The staff is always friendly. The owners are super nice. Feels like somewhere you want to be. I love it.
I visited the place twice, first to get a hair cut and then for a full body massage. Good for the body, mind and soul. Never rushed, always warm, friendly and inviting. I walked in tight and left floating away.
This is my hair home and I hope I never have to go anywhere else. I will definitely be back.

Great place, awesome atmosphere.
Living in San Diego for almost 20 years I was trying different salons and professionals and was not finding my place until I have been at Haute Spa Salon.
Totally worth driving all the way from Del Mar to Point Loma for my self, my husband and kids for wide range of spa/​salon services.
Finally my husband trust someone professional to deal with his hair and beard: and that’s only Gary.
Narine is the only person whom I’ll trust my hair and nails.
P. S. Gary pierced my 3 years old daughters ears without her realizing what happened. She didn’t make any sing noise and was super excited and happy on the end :)
