Thank you David and staff for making my going away Happy Hour celebration so cool! I thought we’d all crack up when my boss asked for her martini to be «dirtier» and you started talking dirty to it! LOL!!! That was awesome!!! And, thank you Humberto(I know you’re on vacation right now) — I came in with a dear friend the Monday before you left, and you were so patient with our non stop chatter, serving us our food and drinks without even a blink of an eye! You’re one cool cat … I will miss my outings at Hexagone, and all the staff and regulars who I get to meet and talk to. Maybe Mr. Joy will stop in once in awhile, for«old times sake»

We had a reservation at 6:30PM in order to get to the theater by 8. This restaurant advertises that they will take you to the theater so I assumed they knew it was a theater night. With all that said, we waited 20 minutes to get a glass a water and had to flag down the waiter to take our order. Staff was unfriendly and inefficient to boot. The food was actually pretty good… although I asked for my steak to be medium and it came raw. But we received our food so late I could not send it back. Then the next day I received an email from Open Table scolding us for not keeping our reservation. REALLY! We were there and on time. This kind of inattention to detail was the theme of the night, Well, they must have closed the this week which my explain the lack of wait staffand the I just don’t give a sugar attitude… I heard they are reopening with another concept… If so I hope they learn the lessons of the past so the neighbors will come back.

We had reservations for 6pm tonight, but after a waitress told us twice to wait«3 minutes» we had to leave because we have a show at 8pm. Besides the fact that there were a plethora of open tables, the staff was inattentive to the guests that were waiting. I would have chosen to give this restaurant 0 stars, if that were an option. However, I’m forced to rate them with at least one star, giving them an extremely inaccurate rating.

Went here in January to try something new and was pleasantly surprised by their fish special; it ended up being just the right amount of food. The asparagus & mashed potatoes were tender. They’re more reserved with the service, I appreciate that, but others may not. 4 ½ stars.

Our party of three had a reservation and we arrived on time. There were tables available but neither the arrogant owner nor the staff acknowledged our existence. After 15 minutes we were finally seated only to wait an additional 10 minutes before we were even given a glass of water. We had to request a menu and after waiting again, we finally left. This is very ironic because my guest was a patron at this place for many many years. Go figure it! On my official SHLIST. The owner is either very wealthy or a complete MORON. If I could rate it ZERO stars I would. Find a restaurant that appreciates your patronage

Made reservations for Valentine’s Day. The staff were friendly and helpful. Had to give this place 3 stars because it was a bit underwhelming when it came to the food. The food was good but not what I was expecting, especially for the price.

Elegant Parisian style restaurant for people who know quality. I am half French and grew up eating the food and trying different regional dishes through many travels. I can say with the utmost certainty that the glaciers created in the Hexagon kitchen are very French in flavor and presentation. I love the location and elegance of the main dining room.

If Victor H is correct and Hexagone is closing, then I say«bon riddance». We were there Christmas 7pm with another couple, dear clients and friends. We were seated somewhat promptly. Then nobody came for 15 minutes. The server who did arrive was beyond clueless. The table was not set, only napkins. He strolled up and said he was ready to take our order. Hmm. I am used to a proper greeting and asking if I would like a cocktail or would I like to see the wine list. Bread and butter eventually arrived. The bread plates only arrived after the salad was consumed and all the bread eaten. When I asked him what the plates were for he replied, «bread, of course.» HILARIOUS. I noticed the table in front of me had their food deposited yet after 5 minutes of it sitting on the table, the server(I dare not say waiter) still had not brought utensils. The husband was visibly upset and rather than apologize, said server simply started arguing saying it was Christmas and he was busy. I especially enjoyed the trip to the men’s room. Getting there through the bar I passed what seemed to be a warehouse with cases of wine sitting on chairs in the entrance area, and loose bottles on the floor. Once inside the restroom I was treated to an overflowing oversize waste bin of paper towels. And the towel dispenser was of course empty. If the owner thinks this is fine dining, then he is sorely mistaken. Next time it’s Mister A’s for me. Never again Hexagone. Let’s hope it’s GONE soon.

Terrible customer service. 20 min and no acknowledgement from the owner or bar tender. Didn’t offer a menu or drink. Never coming here

My mom had a Groupon from her customer. As I was walking by I looked into the class windows, its very intimate and sexy! We had the nicest waiter, he even had an french accent. I had the Beef Bourguignon and Vegetable Ragoût The food was amazing! I definitely would go back!

Hexagone, a «French» restaurant, is really a misnomer. By that I mean it really should be called Octagon. Why? Because, like the Stop sign, you best follow those instructions. Stop! Do Not Proceed! This was truly one of the absolute worst dining experiences I have ever had. Allow me to explain. My Bestie and I decided to dine out tonight — Christmas — because we enjoy each other’s company immenesely. But we have similar habits. We both live in the moment so our dining choices became increasingly constricted as the day wore on. She suggested Hexagone after our first two choices — Island Prime and Bertrands at Mister A’s — panned out. So, we were, like, huh, a cozy French bistro on Christmas? How romantic! Unfortunately, the only romantic moments were those we created by and for ourselves. The restaurant contributed only misery with a capital M. We waited up-front — even though several staff members on the floor noticed us — for at least five minutes before finally being acknowledged as actually, I don’t know, needing something. The owner came over, haggard and irritated, and said«Are you ready?» Really? And no hello or apology? This isn’t Carl’s Jr. We were putting some serious cash down. So I added, «Are you?» And then it just spiraled downward from there. He started to lecture us for not being more sympathetic for them being open for Christmas, that we should be lucky because they, the Overlords of French Cliché, are the ONLY restaurant open on Christmas. I told him that simply wasn’t true and suggested to my friend we leave. She didn’t want to(It was cold outside!) and the owner basically said, «OK. You don’t won’t to eat here? Fine. I don’t care about the money.») (Pardon me while I count to ten.) We stayed, We were seated at a corner banquet, improperly set, when another in a generation of haggard employees came over and with a forced Christmas cheer that was just plain creepy took our wine order. Her, a Riesling. Me, a Cote du Rhone. We were served stale, cold bread with squares of refrigerator-smellling and, yes, cold, butter. Bread plates found their way to us several minutes later. The fork I was missing came sometime after that. We ordered $ 11.00 Lobster Bisque served in a cafeteria-inspired cup with nary a garnish in site and Shrimp with a Cheese and Mushroom(?) filled Ravioli and two Stuffed Prawns. They were actually pretty good. The soup was lush and no one taste overpowered another. The pasta, though lukewarm if that, was symphonic and I appreciated the work on the prawns. Just needs to be served warmer. For dinner we ordered Seabass with Capers and Shortribs. Both had child-sized portions of creamy mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. Again, no real complaints. The seabass was near perfect, delicate and moist but still girded by a meaty backbone. Kudos to the kitchen. The short ribs went through this Harry Potter-like conversion in my mouth and, like most butters, slowly and deliciously melted there. The busboy failed to mention our appetizer plate was flesh-wastingly hot — but who needs two pinkies? — so there was that. And the owner, given his behavior at the beginning of the evening, should have, at a minimum, come over to check on us. He asked how everything was upon leaving. I told him IF he’s in business next year, close on Christmas. As luck would have it, I overheard two people saying he was closing January 1. Let’s hope so. He has no business being in hospitality.

Simply awesome. Took my wife here for our 3rd anniversary. The gentleman who served us was super helpful. Gave us great recommendations and the food was spectacular. The atmosphere was perfect. We truly felt the love here. I’d go here again in a heartbeat.

We ordered the Rack of Lamb and Coq Au Vin(Chicken). Rack of Lamb was very good. Chicken was good but I like the Lamb better. The prices are little expensive but we had $ 100 gift certificate so we thought we would give it a try I usually not a fan of french food but the dishes we got were good. I had the Grande Rasberry Mojito for a drink(Made with Grande Marnier instead of Rum) and it was not what I expected. It was very strong and didn’t taste sweet like a regular Mojito But most people what strong drinks so who am I to complain. I diluted it with water I and was fine.

My husband and I went to Hexagone for a very late lunch around 3pm. We were the only people in the restaurant and it was a weekday. The waiter did not seem really happy to see us as we came in with our four year old son. I had crayons and a coloring book with me so he was not an issue at all. We started with the spicy eggplant soup and it was amazing. We were served bread and butter, but the bread was cold and average at best. I had ordered the Sea Bass, but our waiter said their fish delivery had not arrived do I changed my order to the scallops. Our appetizer of muscles was ok, but not amazing and they came with French fries for our son. There was no ketchup at the table and I know this is a French restaurant so they don’t serve them with ketchup, but our four year old was eating them. My scallops were topped with ginger and I didn’t like them, my husband had the lamb but wasn’t crazy about his dish either. We ordered a dessert that we shared and it was ok. The best thing I can think of was the fact that my husband had a very full glass of wine. We ended up spending over $ 100 for our lunch and just have higher expectations when we put down that kind of money for lunch. Plus we just had an amazing experience at The French Gourmet and this didn’t compare.

I had a $ 100 groupon and I wanted to treat my husband to a nice French restaurant. He was not impressed and I was very very very disappointed. We were seated right away but, we waited for appx. 10 minutes before our waiter came over. The glasses on the table were dirty so I sent them back right away.
The waiter brought some hard crusty bread to the table. When I expressed my dislike at the hardness, the waiter warmed u the bread which made it soft for about 5 minutes. We both ordered the Caesar salad. They put way too much anchovy paste in it. So I sent it back. My husband loves seafood so, it didn’t bother him. The waiter brought a new salad with light dressing. At that point it was just a dry plate of romaine. Sent that back also. In an attempt to make me happy the waiter brought a sample of lovely greens w/candied walnuts apples and blue cheese. This was much more to my liking. The entrees arrived and my husband really liked his lamb shank but didn’t like the beans. Way too much garlic!!! Do the chefs not taste the food!!! I ordered my filet medium to med-well. The outside was black. The ends were pink and the center was rare. The ratatouille was just a big mess of vegis and the green beans were over salted. The waiter wanted to put the meat back on the grill. I said no, the outside is already burnt. No way to fix that! After awhile we were both finding it hard to breath. We have allergies. I looked around and noticed that the wine case next to us had not been cleaned in a very long time. The glass was foggy and the dust was thick. We also noticed that the table next to us sat dirty for most of our visit. When I complained about the cleanliness of the establishment, the waiter said he would have the Manager come over. Then the manager was suddenly gone for the night. Go figure! For desert we tried the crème brulle. It was ok. The waiter comped my half of the meal. So we took home Lobster bisque and two deserts. Hope it’s still good the next day. I do have to commend the waiter Anthony for trying to do everything to make me happy. Despite the lack of quality in the kitchen.
Next time I want a fancy french restaurant it wont be at Hexegone!!!

The duck and prime rib were both perfectly cooked and seasoned. The steamed mussels were plentiful and tasty. That being said, sweet Jesus this place is expensive. Yeah, yeah its French food so that implies«pricey,» but wow. We had a Living Social deal for $ 50 off which was great but after that, I still dropped $ 51(tip included). Maybe I’m just a cheapskate, I’m ok with that. I wouldn’t mind going back but I’d need to work a little overtime first.

Tried Hexagone for the first time a couple of days ago and I would say it’s okay. It’s a nice space in Banker’s Hill and the staff was friendly and attentive. However the food didn’t blow us away. I had the Rack of Lamb in rosemary sauce which came with mashed potatoes and a ratatouille. The lamb was flavorful as was the sauce but the ratatouille was really just meh! I really feel like they just through it on the plate to fill it up, it didn’t really pair well with the rosemary sauce. My friend had the duck with the orange sauce. The duck was okay but once you got to the darker meat that is where more of the flavor came out. She thought the orange on the plate didn’t go. Again hers also came with the ratatouille which is why I think they added to every plate. My favorite part of the whole meal was the Espresso martini. Yumm! I would go back for happy hour for the martini and some appetizers. Pros — Friendly staff, nice location, good martini Cons — Food just okay, bread not great, pricey

Solid French food and great service. My beloved ordered duck in orange sauce, which was delicious. I asked for the halibut and lobster dish but the halibut wasn’t available, so they brought seabass instead(after asking if that would be okay). My dish was good. The Vermouth sauce was strong but not overpowering. I could still taste the lobster and the sauce complemented the dish well. But if I went back, I would order more of that duck — it was definitely the highlight of the night. Our server, Tony, was excellent. Once you dine there, you are invited to join their email club, through which you are offered exclusive deals, which are very, very good.

Dined here on a Wednesday evening(why do empty restaurants recommend reservations?), I tried a few locked side doors until I found the entrance duhh =T I’ve confirmed that French food is not my thing. The waiter was very friendly. There was some bread and butter in the beginning(a little cold and hard, I’d rather have warm and soft). We started off with the crab cake(careful the plate comes out hottt, maybe the plate just came out of the oven?) nothing special, I couldn’t really taste the crab. I had the braised short ribs(the waiter said it takes 3 days to make), it was pretty good but not amaaaazing. I also had a taste of the lemon chicken, which was also ok. Overall the food was just meh. not worth the price, but service was great.

Came on a Thursday night for dinner. The ambiance here is like a restrained old folks home with framed french advertisements that one might pick up at their local Cost Plus or find on a college dorm wall. Whatever, I am not huge into art I was just thinking they would go a little more authentic is all. We were seated right away as the place was pretty empty. Our waiter was new and really nice hence the added star. Decided to go with some starters. From the get go they will inform you that many of the items are not being served. Annoying. They will also switch the wine on you because they don’t have what is on the menu. When I did finally find something to order I was very disappointed. Caesar Salad: My dish came out and I was perplexed. Where were these fennel croutons and parmesan tuile? While the salad was ok, I felt cheated. I would have ordered something else and at the very least I would have liked a heads up that they didn’t have those items. How would Hexagon like it if I paid them $ 4 and told them I subbed out the $ 20’s because I only had $ 1’s? Crab cake: Dismal. It was super bready. It also wasn’t very warm. The sauce did not add much flavor and the topping was undressed. Took an HOUR for this one pitiful crab cake to come out. Two salads, two apps, and three glasses of wine later we were over $ 70 poorer and disappointed. Also the menus were worn and falling apart. The bathroom has loads of cruddy dust and is need of a proper clean. They were out of so many things and didn’t even deliver the ingredients they promised. Hexagon you are like the a restaurant in Kitchen Nightmares or Restaurant Impossible before they come in and wake you up. Get your head back in the game and start running your business like you should. Fine dining doesn’t mean natty menus, dirty bathrooms, and crap food. You don’t have to rub my shoulders or even scrape up my crumbs but you do have to give me the benefit of a doubt that I am going to notice when things are dirty or I am missing ingredients on my plate that I was promised.
