Waited over 40 minutes for a corn dog and fries. Finally gave up and got a refund. The two people that work there don’t have a clue in how to manage orders. How hard is it to deep fry a hot dog and fries? Sad part about it was they weren’t even that busy! Also, when I tried to pay with cash the girl said, «can you pay with a credit card? I don’t have any ones». Really? Avoid at all cost!

The kids love the corn dogs and hot dogs here, as well as the various flavors of lemonade. Service is always friendly and on-point.

Oh, Hot Dog on a Stick… why you no longer have $ 1 corn dog Tuesdays? I went there on a recent visit to Westfield Mission Valley, and asked the counter folks if they still did it. Unfortunately, none of them knew what I was talking about. :\ Still, they honored my frequent visitor card that I had from when the chain was at UTC, and the corn dog was still delicious and freshly cooked(and it seemed bigger than what I’d had before from past experiences). The limeade’s pretty good, too.

Ok.Ok.for a hot dog place… I give them the thumbs up! Why? because of the«Fresh Factor.» They make your food AFTER you order it & since I am a fan of their Cheese on a Stick, that matters. I always order one Pepper Jack Cheese Stick and then mosey on over to Charley’s to order a salad.(By the time you’ve ordered your salad and payed, your Cheese Stick will be ready and then you can walk back over for your salad. I know it doesn’t counteract the Cheese Stick, but it is a much more balanced meal while waiting for a movie or in the middle of a shopping sesh. Btw, It always comes out perfectly cooked, oowey goowey cheese in the middle and golden brown cornbread on the outside. I suggest twirling the stick while pulling it out and then biting the hole to make it bigger in order to cool the cheese a bit before going to town on it’s deliciousness. but that’s just me hee hee

I was really excited when I saw a deal on and that $ 4 I paid for my deal pretty much covered the«meal» that they offered. I got one corn dog, a mango lemonade(their special of the month) and fries. Sad to say that although I did enjoy my meal, or quick snack really… I thought it was going to be better. My corn dog tasted like any normal corn dog. I can probably get a whole box at the grocery store for the price I paid for one here(if I actually did pay full price). Tasted like a fried corn dog. Luckily I like fried corn dogs so I guess I got what I asked for. Fries were freshly fried(I guess you can say the corn dog was too). They were nothing special. Cooked well, but not enough flavor. And they didn’t have any black pepper to satisfy my seasoning. The lemonade was good. Supposedly they fresh squeeze their lemons every 2 hours. I like the lemonade but it lacked the mango that I asked for. Overall, my expectations were too high for this place. Though the food was good(only because I like corn dogs, fries and lemonade), I feel like I could live without paying full price for all of this.

great hot deep fried food. what else do you expect? corn dog, cheese dog, and fries are yummy. the lemonade tastes a little too watery at first, but its perfect after you start eating all the grease.

Ew. Who eats here in their own right mind and PAY for it? Come on LivingSocial — no wonder why you had a deal. –Corn dog, yes, thay make it in front of you — but it’s a CORNDOG. Nothing special. –Fries — do I look like a kid? They are very small in proportion and almost like something you can find in the grocery aisle. –Funnel Cake sticks: very interesting type of dessert. It didnt taste bad but I wouldnt pay for it again. Never again. I’d rather eat soggy fries from McDonalds.

I lived off of their lemonade when pregnant with both kids. Seriously. It was the only thing I could keep down. I bought it by the gallon and hoarded it like it was some uncut precious columbian goodness. Hot Dog on a stick offers a lite lemonade made with Splenda. It’s delicious and a fraction of the calories compared to the original version. You can get a lite lemonade and a turkey hot dog on a stick here for under 300calories. Not too shabby for a lunch time choice at the mall.

I like that they have veggie dogs on a stick here as well as regular hot dogs. They even have cheese on a stick and funnel cake sticks. However, it’s about $ 9 for a combo of a corn dog, a small amount of fries, and a lemonade. Pretty pricey for what it is. This location is also in the Mission Valley Mall’s food court, which is usually pretty dead empty. for good reason. Make the right choice and grab some good food at Monsoon Express right next to Hot Dog on a Stick.

F.Y.I: Hot Dog on a Stick is a great place to go if you’re a busy little bumble bee while at the mall. Whether you’re on a lunch break, need a meal to sneak into the movies, or have lots of shopping to do… Hot Dog on a Stick is usually quick and a cheap place to eat. The corn dogs are OK but mean who wouldn’t want a meaty stick to chow down on if you’re in a time crunch :) Honestly the best days to eat are when they have double stamp days or on $ 1 corn dog Tuesdays… Then you can be like Kobayashi at the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest and stuff your face with lots of corn dogs! Lookin’ for a quick bite on the way to see some crappy movie at AMC Mission Valley? Two words: pocket corndogs. The AMC theater folks can be total jerks about bringing in outside food/beverage into the megaplex… so do what I do. Buy a veggie corndog at Hot Dog On a Stick and smuggle that shits in your pocket. Not only do you get a delicious alternative to the crap they sell at the concessions stand… you also get to say a big F-U to corporate America in the process! Well, kinda, anyway… Just make sure you’re not wearing those hipster jeans that show every bulge your body has to offer. Parachute pants are a corndog’s best friend.

This is hard because I love Hot Dog on a Stick, but this was the worst experience I have had latey! I rarely eat here and I was excited to get my veggie dog on a stick and fries before seeing a movie on Friday night. I waited in line for about 20 – 25 minutes, they were not very friendly, staff seemed confused and people were complaining behind me! I finally ordered my food and patiently waited to sink my teeth into my beloved veggie corn dog! The guy who took my order also made my food. He was obviously new but too timid to ask questions about his mistakes. He leaned over and quietly told the other guy making dogs that he couldn’t remember which one was the veggie one. He looked confused and staggered to get the food together on the tray. He looked at me all dazed and confused and just handed me a corndog. I asked if he was sure it was a veggie not a real one. He stood there for a second and then replied«can I cut it open to see»? I looked at him like he was a complete idiot and said«do you mind just fixing me another one to be sure»? I explained that I didn’t want to take the chance on biting into a real one because I have not had meat since I was 13! He put another one in the deep fryer and then slowly wandered around looking for something to do. He messed up another order and went to the girl scurrying to ring up people as fast as she could. I watched him hand another customer severely overcooked fries and a random dog that he had placed on top of the frying machine when he had discovered he didn’t know which was mine. Mind you, those two random dogs had sat there for about 10 minutes until he gave some unsuspecting person a mystery corndog. He came back over and handed me a dog and I noticed the one he had placed on clip #4 was still there(the place he put the new veggie dog). I asked«Are you sure this is veggie, I saw you put it on the fourth one»? He said«oh, I moved it though». I was nervous but hungry and trying to make a movie. He forgot my fries and I had drank half of my lemonade by then. I got my stuff and sat down to eat. A little apprehensive, I bit in and I couldn’t really tell. I guess it was a veggie since I never threw up or got diarrea! I thought they marked the stick for veggie stuff?! Anyway, make sure you get what you ordered here! I felt bad for the new guy, but you have to pay attention and give the customer the right food! They would have had some trouble if I got sick.

I love HDOS!!! The lemonade is the best in San Diego!!! I love the Pepper Jack Cheese on a stick, it is a great snack! I love the Frequent Cards too! The lemonade is homemade and the hot dogs and cheese are dipped in batter in front of you. It is cooked when you order it so, it takes a little time to get it. But well worth it.
