I like this place. Actually opens all the time! Carne asada is so good. The food is a lot.

Great carne asada burrito. Green salsa has a decent level of heat and good flavor. A hole in the wall but better than most others in town. Quick and friendly service to boot. Burrito with a coke was just over $ 7.50, good value!

Maybe I came here on an off day, but I almost never give 1 star. This star was for the service though because they were nice and quick. But I was sooo dissapointed with the food. I came here after a long drive down from LA. We wanted to have some good San Diego Mexican food and given the reviews here we thought this would be a great place to go. I love little hole-in-the-wall places and this definitely have that Vibe with the wonderful painting of La Virgen on the wall. However, the food… there were 5 of us total and let me just say being in a room with all five of us after this meal was torture. we needed gas masks. Besides stomach aches The Taste was just not there. We all ordered different things… I got the Carne asada fries given the reviews… no bueno. They were just not good at all. Maybe my expectations are higher coming from LA and the bay area. I just don’t know what went wrong.

The physical embodiment of a heart attack. Best $ 6(+ tax) ever spent on ruining my health and it was all worth it. You would think a California burrito would be healthy. You know, avocados and alfalfa sprouts and what not. Nope, meat + fries + giant tortilla. Much wiser to share instead of consuming the entire monstrosity single-handedly. Or take it on David v. Goliath style. Simultaneously, the best and worst decision made of the day. You only live once anyway. Go ahead, eat your heart out and visit your doctor later this afternoon. 4 Stars — Literally once-and-a-lifetime but I will continue talking fondly about Humberto’s for years to come.

Came here on a whim because we were looking for a place with breakfast burritos early on a Sunday morning. This was one of the few places that was open. I love a good potato, eggs, and cheese breakfast burrito with some beans. The first thing I noticed about this place was how cheap the breakfast burritos were. The potato, eggs, and cheese burrito was original $ 4.25. I can’t remember how much the additional beans were, but it was relatively cheap. The burritos were also pretty big for a cheap price. The reason this place gets 3 stars instead of 4 is because I thought their burritos were a little on the dry side. I love a good burrito where when you bite into one side, the beans are on the verge of spilling out the other. I didn’t find that here in my burrito. The burritos was still good, ate half of it at the restaurant and the other half for lunch, but I couldn’t come back here for this specific burrito. I would however come back to try other things on their menu. The shop was pretty busy even though we were there relatively early, so it must be a tried and true in the neighborhood.

Omg omg omg! LOVE this place Hands down my favorite taco shop in San Diego. The food is amazing and the prices are pretty reasonable and about the same as all other taco shops. Only thing that could be improved is the interior design. I know this place gets pretty busy and there aren’t many places to sit or wait for your food. Other than that, loovveeeee it! :D

Hands down best carne asada fries EVERRRR!!! Super popular taco shop, and the best place to go after a night in downtown lol It’s pretty busy and even then, they serve rather quickly. I used to live so close and it was super convenient to stop by but now that I live further, it breaks my heart not to be able to make those quick trips

Have you ever wondered how to take a mystical horse to the land of the best food? Join everyone else who has had the Carne Asada Fries and experience the inner Mexican inside of yourself. I wouldn’t doubt if you learned at least 10 Spanish words just from eating at this place. And if you want a burrito the size of a grown mans forearm I suggest you prepare yourself for the burrito of a lifetime!

I do not know how this place is getting so many good reviews. The food here is terrible. We ordered a carne asada burrito and 3 beef tacos. It was busy in there and our order was done in like 3 minutes. If you order a burrito and its done that quick then best believe that they cook alot of Carne asada at once and serve it til it’s gone. I believe that’s what happen because the burrito was warm and not hot like a typical fresh burrito. The beef tacos were hard and the meat was so salty. The tamarindo drink tasted sour and not sweet. I hope I do not get sick of this dump.

My friend told me that this hole in the wall place has really good carne asada fries, so I’ve had this place bookmarked for a while now. I suggested going here about a month ago, but she told me that there were no bathrooms, so my other friend didn’t want to go. I was craving for it Sunday night and found a couple friends who were willing to try it with me. It’s located in a ghetto area, so I’m glad I wasn’t alone. We ordered the carne asada fries, carne asada burrito, and some rolled tacos. The fries were huge and pretty good, but needed a lot of hot sauce and green sauce to make it more flavorful. The fries were also not as crispy as I like… overall it was not bad though.

So, I don’t like too many taco shops in San Diego due to the lack of authenticity. But Humbertos is one of my favorites!(Out of like 3) This last time around on Sunday April 17th, my family and I order 5 rolled tacos, carne asada fries and a pollo asado burrito for myself. Everything hit the spot. Everything is cooked throughly and is seasoned to perfection. Oh, and that green salsa is the BOMB.

First time eating here and I ordered a shrimp burrito, but I think they gave me a rice burrito. I only found like 3 shrimps in it and it was all rice… Next time I’ll do something else.

Anytime Im in the barrio I have to stop here to get my Mexican fix on & I LOVE the breakfast burrito! In my opinion all breakfast burritos should have potatoes, but the Mexican shop by mi casa does not share my values. lol Humberto’s is SE San Diego makes the perfect egg, cheese, bacon & potato breakfast burritos. Try a carne asada plate it is bomb too!

This is by far my favorite taco shop. I grew up coming here and make sure I come every time I’m back in San Diego. I’d recommend trying any and everything on the menu. Carne Asada fries, flying saucers, rolled tacos, Jamaica and hot carrots. I love this place!

Good ass food just as the other Humbertos by golden hill. Here though, they charge you for carrots, booo! Also the area of course Is a little shady as things are always going down either inside the taco shop or right outside. The last time I went there was a fight out in front and a couple of days ago someone got shot outside as well. so just be careful when you’re getting your roll taco fix!!!

Delicious Mexican taco shop! I live across the street from El Paisa but I’d rather take the drive down to this location instead. I’ve also added a pic of the whole menu so you have an idea of what to order!
