I have been coming to Jackie’s Java for a couple of years. I did like the coffee stand until recently. Since Jackie has left for other endeavors the overall quality and service has really deteriorated. The Espresso drinks flavor is inconsistent and often bitter. Wait times are longer. There is no discount any longer for bringing your own cup. Credit Cards are now accepted via an iPhone App, this has lead to even longer wait times. Today for instance I waited about 25 min. It seems more equipment at the stand is broken than working. I hate to see such a nice little place going down hill but that is the current state. I might start walking over to Starbucks, which I try to avoid, but it is getting that inconsistent.

Great coffee! Hidden Gem. Nice to go to a small time stand for better coffee than the big coffee store chains. This is definitely a locals only secret. You can pull up next to the mailboxes on northside before you get back up to friars and just walk up the stairs. Wish this place was open on the weekends or for a little longer hours!

Jackie has perfected my iced caramel macchiato and has good suggestions when I need something different now and then. Very friendly and welcoming. :)

I dodge the big coffee empire businesses like the plague! I’m always willing to try a little coffee bar or locally owned business over some globo-corp, mega coffee hack distributor. Jackie is good people… its really that simple. Good people take pride in their work and you can taste it in her coffee. I get at least a couple of coffees per week from her cart tucked in the business park next to Lowes. If you are visiting any of the businesses at Fenton parkway and have the urge for a cup o Joe, don’t go to Starbucks, come across the street… you won’t be disappointed.
