Dim Sum was very good. There is usually a bit of a wait on weekends. There are a lot of choices to select from the servers that come around with their warming carts. Typical chinese restaurant service, very short and not very personal. We ordered a few dishes that were not part of the dim sum fair. Overall the food was very tasty. But like most Dim sum places you can run up a pretty high tab very quickly.

It’s been too long since we have been here! Recommend coming on the weekend because they have a greater variety of Dim Sum, but come early for parking and quick seating. We will not let another year pass before we return!

So my friend was like«we need to find a dinner place between Sunset Hills and my friend’s place near Escondido» so a happy medium was Jasmine Seafood restaurant. When we went in at 5pm, there were only a few other people sitting there. The person in front quickly said«no dim sum» but during our dinner we saw other people getting stuff in dim sum trays. Um. what? We also chose the one day that it rained in December in SD, so that was a fun event that we weren’t ready for. So we were sat down on fancy red chairs and we first thought that someone had booked the whole place for a wedding or something haha. :P So it just always looks this fancy. Their prices are high xD They’re about 12−20+ for simple dishes, and even more for other dishes as well(seafood). Hot and sour soup– Oh yes. Soup is good for a cold December day. It was definitely hot and it was mildly sour I believed that it was missing red vinegar to top this out. Sweet and sour pork– Was alright: P It had a lot of pineapples and good flavor in the pork, but some of it was dry and you could taste it in the insides of the pieces of pork. Whatever the dry shrimp is called– yes. We’re bad. We eat really unhealthy things. You can eat head and tail, but the shrimp itself had good flavor. My friend uses this as his go to haha whenever he eats at chinese restaurants. I do wish that I had gotten some dim sum to eat here, but I do get it is dinner :) Their tea was also really good at the beginning, but after a couple water down refills, it got bitter. Don’t forget to check in for 2 free eggrolls w $ 10 min purchase 4−10pm M-F only. They come out hot and tasty.

I’ve been coming here for years. This is one of the cheapest dim sum places compared to China Max and Emerald. But, this place is kind of outdated and the parking is pretty bad. If you’ve been coming here for years, then you’ll also see that not much has changed. They still have the cool dim sum cart pushing going on here which the other restaurants stopped doing. There’s also a small bar. This place is great for large parties since this place is huge and the back back tables can fit lots of people. My fave thing here is the shu mai, har gau and sweet pork buns! *i just realized a cool check in for M-F! Don’t forget.

I came here on Sunday morning at 10AM. NOWAIT! YAY! But during the course of our stay it got busier and busier. We were seated in a not so great location, near the stage(NOOO), where the carts are not frequent passerbys. All is well, as long as you make eye contact with the ladies pushing the cart! All the items we had were yum yum finger lickin’ good! I would make the drive from Chula Vista any day. Obviously, service in dim sum restaurants are sometimes lacking. The waiter assigned to our section was not a happy man. He did frequently come by and refill our waters, sometimes. It did take a good 15 minutes before we got waters initially unfortunately. Another tip, if you don’t see a specific cart going by(like the shrimp noodles that I love oh so dearly) ask one of the waiters or waitresses and they will bring it out to you!

If you’re craving for dim sum on a Saturday, like I frequently do, then I would suggest Jasmine. Here are a few things to consider: — Dim sum is popular, so expect Jasmine to be busy. Also, expect the already small and limited parking lot to be filled. Arrive early to find parking and wait for a table. — Carts will pass through every section of the restaurant, so it doesn’t necessarily matter where you sit. But keep in mind to make eye contact with the cart pushers, and you should be able to eat whatever you want. — Don’t rush your eating. There will be many, many carts with a wide variety of food. They don’t just have delicious typical morsels, but also include other Chinese dishes and desserts. — The restrooms can be busy and neglected. — Be patient. Most of the time, there are enough employees to help out, but let’s be real. Things can get hectic. Happy eating!

I dropped my star rating here on my 3rd visit not because of the food, but because they can’t seem to get their services together. We are a group of 8 last night and we know it’s a Christmas dinner so it will be packed, but still some sort of «organization» should had been done by the management. When we listed our name at the reception, we asked how long does she think is the wait time and she said 30mins. I was quite adamant to believe that but since the place is quite huge, I believed her. After 45 mins, she still said the same thing, another 30mins. It’s frustrating when a very young receptionist does not have a concept of what 30mins waiting time is. I’d rather be told honestly how much is the wait so I can make a decision if I’ll wait for real or not. A lot of people were very upset as well with her cz she was just constantly saying the same thing and many have checked the dining and said there were a lot of empty tables but why is the wait so long? After almost 2 hrs of wait, we finally got the table and there’s the wait for water and ordering and each food order came way to far apart from each other. You look around and you know why exactly is the case. The servers all looked inexperienced and scrambling to get their services straight. About the food, it’s great! and my friends who came all the way from LA was pretty impressed. We ordered the Peking duck and it was served in 2 courses. One with a white bun and other like a lettuce wrap and it was phenomenal! We had salt pepper shrimp, pork chop, egg drop flower soup and crispy noodles. I’m still gonna come back that’s for sure but I hope the services will be more organized. It does affect the experience and I hate to make such a long not so good review.

Frustratingly bad! I remember visiting this place once several years ago for dim sum. They were pretty good then, I didn’t have any complaints and thought I would come back again someday. That someday arrived, as years passed, here I was and it was like a tale of two restaurants. Let me start off by saying that for a dim sum restaurant, it would have been nice if they had more one dim sum cart going around. After getting service the first time around, we waited quite a bit for another to come around. Looking around I couldn’t even see any servers. Actually, patrons were getting up with their stamp cards and going up to the carts to pick up the dim sum to bring back to their tables. Not only was the service bad, the food wasn’t any better. Nothing was up to par, rarely do I leave food on the table, but this time was an exception since it was terrible. I think we got about 8 items, usually about that much comes out to $ 25-$ 30, but here it was $ 45. Considering how terrible this place was, for the lack of service and higher prices, this was not worth it. Go across the street where there’s another dim sum restaurant, and no I haven’t been there, but I bet its better than this place!

My friends came here on a Sunday afternoon. We were worried because it gets pretty slammed during the weekends but we waited only 10 minutes before we got seated. Customer service was a mess. We had to hunt down someone to bring us water & hot tea & when my friend asked for help, the guy was incredibly rude & told us to wait. In addition, we needed sauces & plates & when my friend asked, the guy looked so irritated. He did not even listen to what she asked & kept on bringing the wrong items which added to his frustration but it was his fault for not listening & rushing. The plus was the dim sum & desserts! Fresh, hot, & delicious! Good thing that one of our friends spoke Cantonese because he was able to ask the cart ladies what everything was & gave great recommendations. I do not know the names of half the items we chose but that is the perk of seeing the foods before you order it! I say if it looks good, order it!

Came here on a Tuesday around 11:30 and there was absolutely no wait. Having been here on the weekend for dim sum, I know the long lines and wait times well. I was pleasantly surprised when I came in today with a party of 3 and was seated immediately. The carts circulated around in a timely manner. When we requested a dim sum dish, the server went to the back and got us a fresh serving. Our table was quickly cleared of empty dishes and our tea was refilled just as quickly. Overall, the food was good and the selection is there. However, I found some of the dishes a bit overcooked to my liking. For a party of 3 and an order of 9 dishes, our total was $ 50, not including tax.

Came here at 9:30a on a Saturday morning. People waiting to get inside for dim sum. Place starts to fill up around 10a. Soon, the parking lot is full. Quality is good, selection is ok. Service adequate. Restaurant interior is lacking. It’s a large room with a high ceiling that features an elaborate light and sound system at the location for a head table for weddings.

I met a friend here for a late weekday lunch, around 1:30pm. The main lunch crowd was thinning out and(according to my friend who often eats here) the dim sum carts had fewer offerings. The cart ladies were very nice although some were difficult to understand so sometimes I was saying yes to things and having no clue what I was being given. Everything I tried was quite delicious. In addition to several beef and pork filled dumplings I enjoyed some BBQ pork, egg tarts and several sesame balls with sweet red bean filling(I love those things). I have to agree with the opinion of other reviewers, the price is on the high side. Plenty of parking in a big lot at the rear of the building.

Don’t go after 2pm cause the carts are not frequent. Not much selection. Shrimp shumai was mushy, Chinese broccoli was $ 8 and had a hair in it, boba in Thai tea was hard and not fully cooked, special ordered xiao long bao and it never came. Jasmine is NOT the bizness! Try emerald down the street for better dim sum and cheaper!

Came here on Sunday night for dinner. I’ve come to Jasmine before during dim sum lunch and the atmosphere was very different at dinner. It wasn’t busy when we came so the parking lot was pretty empty. There were probably 5 – 7 groups in the restaurant and us, a party of 10. We ordered: calamari, salt and pepper chicken wings, Chinese broccoli, war won ton, sweet n sour fish, chow fun noodles, Peking duck, and possibly a couple more dishes. Sweet n sour fish was surprisingly good. Although since we had the sauce on the side, I just ate the breaded fish without sauce. I’m not sure what kind of fish they used, but it was good. For the Peking duck, they make the sandwiches right in front of you, and the remaining duck is served after. To be honest, I’m not a fan of duck, so though this looked good, I didn’t try this. Service was great! I’ve been here during Dim Sum and it’s usually hard or takes time for someone to come over since they’re so busy. But today, since they weren’t busy, the server came by often. Another one came by and was practicing his tagalog. All the servers were helpful. Jasmine is a good place to come, I would still recommend coming here.

Don’t know of very many places in San Diego for Dim Sum but this is a keeper. Always good quality of our favorite items and generally prompt service. We love the Sui Mai, Egg Custard Tarts, Shrimp Dumplings, Cha Sui Bow and noticed they add the Xao Long Bao to their selections. Don’t be shy to order or the carts will be pushed by you and if they can understand English you better point to what you want to eat. When there are the majority of Asians eating there you can not be wrong. Be careful what you order in quantity because the bill adds up fast as eat dish are priced a little different. Large restaurant that can have banquet size crowds and at times the parking can be tough and may have to park along the street. Located on Convoy Street there is an endless amount of Asian restaurant and Boba places. When in San Diego we will be back to Jasmine.

As a kid, my family and family friends would always go to Jasmine for dim sum on Sundays so I have emotional attachment to this place. The space is huge so there’s hardly ever a wait. Their basic dim sum is really tasty: pork, shrimp, chicken shumai, siopao, etc. They also offer a large variety//almost everything OC and 626 would have. Only complaint: My fave is usually the shrimp flat wrapped with rice paper and drenched in a sweet soy sauce, but it was whatevers here. Everything else was up to par! They also have chicken wings, which I’ve never had at a dim sum spot. They’re pretty good… sweet with a little bit of a kick. Overall, it was very cheap. We ordered a lot and it only came out to about $ 10 per person.

Nothing special, 3.5 stars for me I grew up in Arcadia, maybe thats why this place wasn’t as great as the dim sum places in LA. Unlike Arcadia, we were seated right away, which is a plus. Inside was pretty large, and their restroom was fairly clean. Had a really cool full size mirror. After using the loot, I sat down to drink my water. It had a black dot floating around in my water. As I was complaining to my boyfriend, a male staff came over and asked if everything was okay. He was quick to change my water, thank you. As for the food, it was okay. Compared to the ones I’ve been to, it wasn’t good. Maybe my taste buds are classically conditioned to dim sum places in Arcadia. My man isn’t a full asian, so everything tasted good for him. Also, the prices are a lot more compared to LA. Maybe it’s cause SD doesn’t really have a lot of dim sum places. Total came out to be $ 38 for two adults. We ordered 5 dishes from Group C & few from B & A. Their egg tarts were really good. It was the only thing I enjoyed eating here. I’ll come back and try it out one more time. Maybe I’ll start to like this place, who knows.

Craving DIMSUM!!! Came in here yesterday to eat some dim sum and like always it is ALWAYS busy on weekends. So be prepare to search for parking and wait a little. I love their dim sum here. Its so yummy and fresh! My favorite is the shrimp rolls. Yes, very simple. But I can eat a whole plate by myself! My daughter loves the steamed pork buns. She ate a whole bun by her self. The workers here are sweet, they can be pushy with what they want you to put on your table… But if you say no, they just move along. This is my go to dim sum place. I have been going here since I was a kid!

* Tasty, cheap, clean, spacious, parking sucks, better than Emerald. Parties of 2 get in a lot quicker, so don’t be discouraged if you see 1000 people loitering outside, it moves quick! I love me some dim sum on Sunday’s. Especially if you’re a bit hungover and starving for some greasy delicious food. It’s also a good alternative to the typical American brunch and bottomless mimosas. The first thing I want to say is that this dim sum thing is really super fun because there is food everywhere and you get to grab whatever you want. It’s super loud and super duper busy with all kinds of people scurrying around and conversing. It’s not bad a thing! This place is cheap too. The two of us ate until we were stuffed for only $ 50. Secondly, the service was actually extremely good. Usually these types of restaurants or any other restaurants on Convoy have the worst service in the industry or maybe even the world. However, Jasmine was top notch. We asked one of the cart ladies for a particular dish and she searched around and yelled at one her coworkers and ran over and got the dish for us. How nice! I love it when people go out of their way. Nice work lady. Lastly, the actually quality of the food was on point. It was delicious and most importantly, warm. Cold Chinese always sucks! I’m not even going to try to list out the foods I ate. All i can say is, if you like Chinese food and lots of it, then try this place out. You won’t be disappointed. *Avoid parking in the lot, park on the street adjacent to it.

This restaurant is my go to for some dim sum. Its cheap when you are with a group but when you are by your self it adds up and the next thing you know you have $ 50+ bill. They have great variety such as shrimp and pork shumai, sugar cane shrimp, bbq pork steam buns, bbq duck and pork dish, chicken feet, pork ribs. etc and dessert such as my favorite the mango pudding with milk. I love to go here in groups because it is fun picking out dishes and seeing first-timers have this wild eye look and trying to figure out what’s happening and then explaining what each dish is. Really a fun place to go to. Customer service is almost non existent. If you want water you got to flag down or get up and look for someone to help you. Staff rarely smile and gives you this«cant be bothered» look. Parking here can be terrible especially on the weekends so expect parking on street at times.
