Papaya Salad YUMMM! The restaurant was nice and clean with decent prices. I’ll be going back again.

This was the first visit to this restaurant for three friends from work and myself and I can say we were all quite happy with our food. I’ve just in the last year developed a fondness for Thai yellow curry with chicken so the girls found this restaurant on Unilocal and with good ratings I said let’s do it. What a great choice! All of these ladies are familiar with Thai food so instead of ordering my usual yellow curry I opted for the recommendation of my friends and ordered the Drunken Noodles with chicken at a spiciness level of five. It was just the right amount of hot. The dish was very flavorful and the chicken and vegetables were cooked just right. Also to note was that the vegetables were cut small enough to enjoy a mixture of veggies, noodles and meat in one bite. Many restaurants do not cut their vegetables small enough or let them cook long enough. If I wanted raw vegetables I would order a cold dish so what a surprise that the salad that came with my dish wast he lettuce was chopped bite size and the carrots and red cabbage were I used to live in Mission Valley and I wish I’d known about this restaurant then as I would have been a regular customer. I now live in Escondido so my visits may not be that often but when I’m in the area it will be my ‘go to’.

Yay! I am a fan! My husband and I decided to try this place out and we were NOT disappointed! Restaurant is located in a strip mall next to several other restaurants… but this place is super clean and the man at the front(as well as the person who took us our plates) were extremely friendly. I wish I had a picture of what we ordered but we were hungry and devoured it! We both had the lunch special(available all week 11−3pm, we went on a Saturday around 1:00pm) I got the level 3 spice beef pad thai which came with a spring roll and side salad, the spring roll was good, nothing special or different from other spring rolls and their salad was a good portion for a lunch special and very fresh. My husband got chicken 0 spice level pad thai lunch special(he played it safe) and both were extremely delicious, hot off the stove and a very good portion(less than $ 9/each). I had a cup of the chicken tom yum soup(about $ 4) and OMG it was AMAZING! So much so that I had to have it again 3 days later(the pot approx $ 8)!. I(we) highly recommend this establishment. If you’re not feeling any of the other restaurants in that same area, definitely consider going to Ka Prao… they’re great, the place is ultra clean and the food is very good.

My husband and I have eaten here several times and we LOVE it! They have delicious yellow curry. I have also tried their basil chicken and that was also very flavorful well made. I definitely recommend trying this place! The prices are reasonable. I have had good customer service and food is delivered quick.

we ordered yellow curry and peanut curry The peanut curry was great, yellow curry was ok the price is ok, not a big portion as mentioned as the other comment. For two people for $ 20 its not bad at all This place is kind of small, but decent will come back to try different dishes

The food was«okay». The meat(we got pork) in the pad Thai was good, but the whole dish was eh. We got delivery, so we couldn’t really see what we were ordering before hand, and you have to have a $ 25 min for delivery, so the lady who was taking my order suggested a side order of grilled pork, which was like $ 4 to make it $ 25. It was the tiniest side ever. I can’t believe that was what we got for $ 4. I should have ordered something else, but didn’t have a menu in front of me. So short stick on that one. Anyway, the only reason I’m putting 3 stars is because the delivery was fast and he was very nice. But we wouldn’t try their food again. Much better Thai options around.

Its just meh. Ive been here several times, the lunch special is a decent value, but regular menu prices are high for unimpressive thai food. Its better than starving, but it is average thai food at high prices.

My newest find, right across from Living Spaces in Mission Valley. I had the Pad Thai with chicken and it was delicious! So was the Thai Ice Tea, nice and thick, not watered down.

I don’t get the reviews here. I love this place! The lunch special starting at $ 7 is a fantastic price for huge portions(we usually have enough for dinner too!) The staff is nice and the food is delicious! I have ordered two noodles dishes which were cooked perfectly, the tofu tasted delicious. Love this place!

I’m not sure why this place has such low ratings. No, this is not the best Thai food you’re going to have in San Diego. But it’s very tasty, the staff is nice and accommodating and it’s affordable. The owner always cuts up line for me himself(I always ask for some for pad Thai) and always chats me up, which is nice. It’s walking distance to my apartment and we eat out a lot, so we’re here once a week. If you love or work walking distance to it I recommend it over the other places around here!

KaPrao is a tiny holy basil in Thailand. Cute nice spot to hit up in San Diego. Clean, quaint and quick service. Lunch specials start at $ 7. Craving fried rice so got the shrimp, pot stickers and egg roll. Fresh veggies, the shrimp was perfect and the rice was better than other places I’ve had. Nice quiet spot. Worth a return trip to try the Crab Fried rice, Pad See-Ew, KaPrao Specialty dishes, Larb, Tom Kah(Coconut soup), Lemongrass soup and stir Fry’s. Any fellow Unilocal’ers care to meet up for a Thai dinner date? Message me ha!

My wife and I checked out this place yesterday because it was close to our place, and she was craving Thai food. We ordered quite a spread from the menu; $ 72 and change. Sadly, the customer service was terrible and the owner was a complete jerk. Wife(who is pregnant) wanted a cup with a lid for her water so she can take it to go, and the girl behind the counter told me to ask the gentlemen(who happened to be the owner). When I asked him, the guy told me no she cannot use that cup because it’s used for inventory of Thai tea sold. Are you kidding me, you’re counting cups for inventory. Isn’t that what you use a point of sale system for? Is that how you treat a customer who just dropped $ 72 on average Thai food? Think twice about how you treat your customers. We won’t be coming back.

Had the drunken noodles with potstickers at level 7 spiciness. The noodles were super spicy but had good flavor. My wife thought they were a bit salty. The potstickers were crispy and good. Service was friendly and got an average portion for the price. Overall, typical fast food Thai. I will return for more but not an outstanding Thai place just a solid quick stop.

I’ve eaten here twice, had several items on the menu, and won’t be back anytime soon. Some of the items on the menu are wildly and strangely overpriced, based on the portion sizes. For example, at most Thai restaurants, an order of fresh spring rolls is two full spring rolls that are both cut in half, so you end up with four halves of spring rolls to share. Here, fresh spring rolls cost the same as anywhere else, but you only get one full spring roll(cut in half), which means you’re paying the same price for half the food. There’s a similar problem with the sticky rice and mango – the portion of rice is just more than half what you’d get elsewhere. Most of the entrees are not overpriced, but the ones I’ve had have been unimpressive. The massaman curry(normally my favorite dish) is barely recognizable as the dish it’s imitating, and I advise not ordering it if you like massaman curry. The pad thai is pedestrian. If you’re looking for Thai food, there are much better options close by. If you’re just looking for food, I’d recommend some of the options next door.

I love this place! It’s very affordable and the lunch special is very fulfilling! I go through phases of what Thai dishes I normally eat and while pad thai will always be my #1, I am completely hooked on their sweet basil eggplant! It is literally heavenly and of course they spice it to your level. I normally get 7 – 9 on a scale of 1 to 10, but I get a 5 for the eggplant dish so that I can still taste the sweetness. The atmosphere is comfortable and the employees are always very nice. The service is also very fast. There’s nothing more that I can ask for in a restaurant. Definitely recommend to everyone!

I’m a sucker for Thai food, and considering this place is very close to our house, I stopped in to grab lunch for my fiancé and I. Perusing their menu, they have all the standard Thai food options, from various curries to salads to noodle dishes. Since it was lunchtime, I took advantage of their lunch specials, which consist of the main entrée and 2 sides. I stuck with my usual choices, which are chicken green curry and pork pad see ew, both at medium spiciness. For sides, I chose the egg roll, 2 potstickers, Thai slaw and steamed veggies. I’m assuming everything is cooked fresh, because it took a good 15 minutes for my food to-go. The cashier was quiet but polite and prompt with taking my order. When I got home, we chowed down on our piping hot food and overall, everything tasted great. Bold favors with just the right amount of spice. The sides were a little lackluster, as I’ve had better quality potstickers and fried egg rolls at other Thai restaurants. While serving size was appropriate for a lunch plate, one small complaint was that they didn’t have a lot of the protein added. Considering their prices are comparable to other Thai restaurants nearby, I hope they won’t continue to skimp on that important aspect. Overall, since it’s so close by, I’ll definitely be back to try more dishes!

It’s their grand opening today and it’s already great. The service. The food. Everything. Three of us came for dinner. We ordered satay and moo yang to start. Then tom kah with chicken. Finally for entrees we had ka prao kai dao, larb salad, and sweet basil eggplant chicken stir fry. The food and service are both fantastic. And their heat scale is 1 – 5 instead of 1 – 10 and 2 was almost too spicy for me lol.
