Been to kabob lounge a few times. Every time I have been there the wait for the food has been way too long. It’s one thing if the food is going to be fresh it’s another when you see people after you get their food first. Last time I was there they said the boneless chicken takes longer, but my friend got his food 20 minutes before me and low and behold he had boneless chicken too. Food quality was also subpar.

The chicken kabob plate was delicious. The portion size of the salad that came with the kabob plate was big. We were stuffed and will definitely return. The facility was clean and staff friendly.

Came here to fulfill a kabob craving and boy was it fulfilled– all the dishes have huge portion sizes! Among my friends and I, we tried the rice dishes as well as the burgers and every single thing was flat out amazing. The service is prompt too. Try this place out when you need a break from places smushed together in hillcrest/downtown with minimal street parking!

Very fresh, reasonably priced food here. I’ve only been here once but want to come back soon. I’ve passed by this place a couple of times and have been curious about their food. I like how they have a variety of Middle Eastern food from chicken shawarma to Persian style kabob. I ordered the beef koobideh wrap, which was ground sirloin wrapped in lavash bread. The meat was great and the wrap was delicious. I wish the skewer of kabob was warm. I’m usually used to getting kabob wraps with a hot skewer of kabob, not cold. Other than that, it was great. I got my wrap with salad, which comes with their homemade dressing. Next time I want to try their chicken doner. Can’t wait to be back!

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant, all of the employees are great so very nice, Omar knows my name the minute I walk in, I’ve checked other kabob restaurants and Kabob Lounge is the best. we eat there at least two times a week ever since they opened and they always get the order right I don’t ever have to check like other restaurants, the food is cooked to perfection and the price is just right, also very very clean. I recommend you try

And my 300th review goes to… **The Kabob Lounge**… a yummy spot to get your Mediterranean craving fix!~ I came by last week and tried the beef doner kabob. The beef was well portioned and flavorful and I opted for fries instead of a salad with pita bread. The tzaziki sauce was on point and enhanced each bite, and the hot sauce was addicting. Putting my mouth on fire because I’m a weakling with spices. But so good! The worker was also very helpful as I dined in, but also got two to-go orders for coworkers. He also checked up on me and my friend and was very welcoming for our first time coming into this restaurant. Overall, a neat spot, with great food and service :]]

Recently went with few friends and loved the food, atmosphere and service. The Falafel and the Tabouli salad were delicious but their Baba ghanoush is the best I’ve ever had! We’ve been craving their food and planning to go back soon.

Date of visit: 11/14/2015 I was really craving some kabobs and rice, so Cam and I opted to visit Kabob Lounge as it was kind of on the way to my parent’s house. As usual, I wanted to try a little bit of everything so we shared two appetizers and a plated meal. It was quite a bit of food, but the prices here are also a bit more expensive than other kabob shops. Kebbeh. This was a deep fried fritter with ground lamb and pine nuts. At $ 2.50 a piece, I was expecting a little more flavor, but it was just okay. I probably wouldn’t get this again as the oil permeated the entire dish. Hummus. After reading reviews about the sub par hummus, I was a little wary about ordering this, but I love dipping my kabobs in hummus, so we ordered some. The pita bread that comes with this dish is not very good, but the hummus had a great texture. It comes plain, so there’s plenty of olive oil, but not much else for flavor. I was a big fan of the cucumber that came with the hummus, but not so much of the tomato(am I the only one that thinks that’s a weird combination?). Cam was a big fan of the hummus as well. Lamb Kabob Plate. We decided to get an extra lamb kabob, which came out to be an extra $ 9. Pricey, but really tasty. This dish definitely was the star of our meal. The meat was super tender, juicy, and flavorful. The bell peppers were a great complement to the meat, and the rice just soaked up all of the juices to make every bite absolutely amazing. I also really liked the salad, but that was just a typical side house salad. Overall, this place is definitely worth a visit. Its pretty expensive as we spent about $ 40 with tax and tip, but the food is great.

My favorite thing to order here is the falafel. It’s got a thick crispy layer on the outside but dense with flavor on the inside! I’ve ordered it as an appetizer and in the falafel wrap. The falafel appetizer comes with 4 pieces and a side of tahine sauce. If you order with a side of hummus, it comes out to nearly $ 8, so you might as well order the falafel wrap that comes with a side of fries or a salad(you can also ask for tabouleh!). Parking here can be tough around lunch time, but I’ve somehow always managed to find a spot. Had both take out and dine-in. Clean interior, friendly staff. Definitely recommend!

Overall 2.5 stars. Oddly located within a professional building plaza just south of the 56 on the left side, I almost thought my GPS was wrong! First of all, service is friendly and nothing was«bad», per se, about this place. So why 2.5 stars? Well, it is very high priced for the amount/quality of food you get. My friend and I got the hummus appetizer, which honestly, didn’t taste any different than store bought hummus. Very bland. Needed more garlic. Callibanzo in Mira Mesa, has way better hummus(the mushroom hummus). Also got falafel, which I love, but theirs was dry. Got dinner combo and for ~$ 10 it came with one chicken skewer, pita bread, a tiny side(of your choice) and the rest of the plate was just rice. The best comparison I can give it to is Daphne’s. But at least Daphne’s is probably half the cost(I don’t really care for Daphne’s anymore). I love mediterranean food and was excited to try it. Especially since I had a coupon. Personally, I don’t think I’d come back. Even with a coupon. Overall, their food didn’t have enough flavor for me, and for the price, it wasn’t worth it.

Speechless excellent food can’t say more, never again will I choose any other place. Very authentic food, healthy and delicious. Plenty of food to choose, even if you are a vegetarian and or vegan. I was surprised on how fresh the food and is definitely I will be coming back no doubt about it.

I came in for lunch just before noon on Friday. It was dead until about noon, but by the time I left at 12:15, it was getting busy. Parking could be an issue if you arrived after noon, as there weren’t many spaces designated just for the restaurant. I ordered the beef doner wrap on pita bread. The size was ample and there were good amounts of meat inside. It was pretty bland however, so I added some of their hot sauce. I liked the fact the tzaziki sauce was on the side, so you could control how much you wanted. I was a little miffed that they didn’t obey my request to hold the onions, but there weren’t too many and they were easy to pick out. The fries came out hot and were good. Overall my experience was mostly positive other than the order mixup. The workers were friendly, the place was clean, and it was good value for the amount of food received.

Definitely 4+ on the star rating. Maybe a slight deduction from 5 stars for bleak, food court– like dining area. Some outdoor seating but you’re facing a parking lot of an office complex. This restaurant is tucked into an office area and is in an odd location. Staff is very friendly and will explain anything on the menu(different rice dishes, etc). Food is high in quality and is freshly prepared. Falafels have excellent texture. Chicken kabobs are very good although slightly dry sometimes. Sampled the chicken schwarma but did not care for the spices. Prices are reasonable. Great for take out. Plenty of parking.

Thanks to Unilocal,i discovered a nearby new Mediterranean casual restaurant that serves delicious and healthy Persian food in Carmel Valley. I’ve been coming back for dinner time and time again, the portions are very generous and filling, the meat is always tender, well seasoned and full of flavor. I always get their boneless chicken plate which comes with mountain of basmati rice, grilled tomato, salad and tzatziki yogurt sauce. Its enough for dinner and lunch the next day :) The location is a bit odd, there is nothing else around besides business and offices, its a tiny plaza with Ken sushi next door. The place itself has a casual yet modern feel to it. You make the order with the cashier and they will bring your plate to you when its ready. Its a perfect spot for a casual and quite dinner out on the weekday night. I’m hoping they will open more locations around SD in the near future. Its definitely more authentic Persian style food then Luna Grill.

After having Kebab Grill at UTC for lunch, I was pretty disappointed with Kabob Lounge. I had the Chicken Doner Kabob wrap, and it included some veggies and chicken layered in focaccia. Granted the bread tasted good and freshly baked, but it was definitely not what I expected when I ordered a «wrap». I don’t think the foccacia lends itself to the correct taste that you get with a wrap. A wrap is thin and allows you to enjoy the meat and sauce, but when you use a giant piece of bread, it really takes away from the other things in the wrap and all you get is the flavor of bread. The tzatziki sauce wasn’t tangy enough, so that didn’t help much. Also, while the meat was flavored fine, it was definitely on the dry side.

Living in Carmel Valley, there aren’t too many restaurant options. Good thing we have places like Kebab Lounge! The Kebab Lounge is a nice place to stop by for lunch or dinner. It has a modern, clean dining area. It’s a casual setting so don’t expect anything fancy. Their menu has a good selection of vegetarian, meat, and salad options. I personally think the best deals are the entrees which come with a meat option, rice, side salad, and pita bread. If you are on a diet, they have a selection of salads with an option to add meat. Their portions are good and are reasonable priced($ 9.50-$ 15). Only issue is that the food takes about 10 – 15 minutes to come out. If you’re in a rush, you may want to call ahead.

I work down the street from here, so naturally it was very exciting to have a new lunch place pop up. I suppose it’s walkable from my office, however due to show lunch breaks, I drove. Parking is a little rough since it is in a business park, with apparently a very busy office. The menu, in my opinion, is a bit confusing. But just say what you want and they will figure out which combo/meal it belongs to. The food was pretty good for sort of fast food(7 – 10 minutes), and I am likely to come here again, but mostly due to the proximity to my office.

The Kabob Lounge is a pretty neat establishment located in the industrial part of Carmel Valley. This place actually has really good food and a really solid menu. Came here a couple of times already and have ordered a wrap, with feta fries and the chicken barg entrée, both dishes were absolutely delicious and very large in portions. The great food, convenient location and good service = 4 stars. Pros– Food Menu Service Portions Taste Cons– Parking Crowded during lunch time Slow when crowded

My first time here and I’ll be back. I’m a big lover of this style of food. I live in the area and had no idea it had opened and there are a few other choices in the neighborhood. I’ve been seeing some of my friends review this place so figured it was worth checking out. So glad I did! It’s located in a newer, less developed part of Carmel Valley mixed in with some professional business so it’s not exactly visible from the street unless you are looking for it. It’s located near the 56 so very easy to get to. There’s a large free parking lot with plenty of parking. I went in and it was very quiet with only one other customer. The restaurant was impeccable and looked as if they could have opened their doors today. I was greeted immediately by the lady at the counter who was quite pleasant. I ordered the Chicken Barg with Spanakopita. However, after I paid for my order I was told they were out of Spanakopita. I changed my order to the Hummus since it was the same price. They have a small counter by the front window you can sit at and enjoy your meal and do a little people watching. There are plenty of booths to sit in and they have very nice outdoor seating for the incredible San Diego weather. It didn’t take long to prepare my order and I had it to go. The chicken barg was as good as any other place I’ve had. The chicken pieces were very tender and flavorful. It was atop a bed of basmati rice which also was cooked to perfection. The size of the meal is more than enough for one person but so flavorful it’s hard to stop eating it. You have options when ordering a meal as to what type of rice you want and what additional side. I chose the house salad which came with a balsamic dressing that like everything else, was very tasty! I’ve spent quite a bit of time in the Middle East so it’s hard to find what I would call«good» hummus but theirs is quite exceptional. Unfortunately, the bread that came with the hummus was not. It’s much thinner than most other pita type breads at other Mediterranean style restaurants which I like. But they were really hard, almost as if it was old. I’m used to being able to fold it a little to scoop up the hummus, rice, or other foods I’m eating but this bread was so hard I couldn’t bend it at all. And compared to the rest of the meal which was very warm, the bread was completely cold. I’m more used to hot, fresh bread so hopefully they will work on that. Also, their tzatziki sauce was less than average. It’s quite thick almost like a salad dressing and it does not have the traditional taste you can find just about anywhere else that serves this type of food. The tzatziki sauce was a big disappointment. Last, I will say even though they were out of the spanakopita they gave me some Baklava to make up for the mistake which was very nice. The baklava wasn’t very good :) But I do appreciate the gift. They have a decent website and you can even place your order online which I would probably do next time. And something I sincerely hope more and more restaurants begin to follow along with… they use recyclable to-go containers instead of styrofoam!!! Great job!

Located right next door to Ken’s Sushi Workshop, this place is sure to make a splash in North County with its variety of Mediterranean eats. I stopped in for lunch and ordered the Ground Sirloin Kebab for $ 8 with a side Lentil Soup served with flat bread for $ 4. The lentil soup was of the well blended variety where very few, to almost no whole lentils are left. The consistency of the soup was thick and creamy with very tiny bits of lentils. The soup’s flavor was great, with no doubt spices such as turmeric, cumin, ground red pepper, black pepper, garlic, and onions. I liked that they garnished it with crunchy pita chips and a touch a salt. Smartly done. The ground sirloin was good, and game with a significant of herbs mixed in with the meat, not to mention spices as well. It was well cooked, but given it was made from sirloin, a lean cut of meat, so the kebab was a little dry inside. It’s flavor was good, and I appreciate the health benefit from this cut, but I a little more moister and juicier meat would of been great. The parsley, tomato and pickles, onion where all fresh and the yogurt sauce was very tasty. The pita wrap was good, a little over toasted, but good. Service was pretty good. The girl who took my order was nice. They nice seating inside and outside.
