The Gyn department for this location is horrific. Their customer service is dreadful. I paid for my lab test in advance and they forgot to order it. When making an appointment, the front desk will not make an appointment for you. The nurse would calls you back to schedule your appointment. Neither the nurse or the doctor needs to get their schedule straight because it is super unprofessional to call patient twice a day to reschedule and again on the day of the appointment. Patients have a life and job too. Patient can’t just sit around all day to work around your clinic schedule. I understand the first time but second time? Unexceptible.

The doctors here are very knowledgeable and nice! However every time I have gone to get a prescription, or had to get shots at the nurses clinic or wait to see my doctor for an appointment I usually am waiting an hour or more. Its not organized and you will have to wait around. Parking is much easier then the Vandervere location.

Always get taken care of by friendly staff. Be careful in the parking lot!

Worst communication and rudest staff even by Kaiser standards. I take other medications with strict regulations and have to problems with communicating with my doctors or they’re staffs. However this Dr diagnosed me with ADHD and prescribed adderall xr&ir. It’s been over a year and they STIlL can’t get it right. They ask:“what works best for YOU?” And I give a simple answer and my quantities remain the same. This was the 3^rd time, and I said if you keep the quantity the same then I need a refill every ***12weeks*** and Not 100 days. Instead of figuring out what my actual dosage was I was instructed to «just email» the dr. So when 84 days came around everything was «forgotten» and for the 3^rd time I have a LVN telling me that I needed to take exact ally what «label» said and which made me feel like some drug seeker, although the doctor verbally asked me to find out what works by trying different combination to take my Rx, and then email him with what was «effective», which I did. So after hours and days of stressful phone calls we’ve gone nowhere if not backwards. And not lying, there’s been a «clerical» error every time I was written an RX too! So on top of that the dr altered my Rx to a less effective method and taking more mg of adderall from which I requested. He got the XR and IR backwards!!! It’s so fucking simple and yet nobody admits the possibility of an honest mistake on their end. So this is my proof and way of holding Kaiser accountable and to not put months in between a patient and doctor for an appointment that should be asap.

So I made the switch through Covered California from a Blueshield PPO plan to Kaiser. I’m saving a lot monthly but now I’m limited as to who I can see as my Primary Care Physician. My first impression was pretty cool for the first 5 minutes but it was all down hill from there. The cool moment was my ability to get same day service for my flu like symptoms. The PA performed the preliminary checkup and then came Dr Shroeder. He’s like «you have the flu» Peace! Like he wanted to bounce right then and there. Similar to that moment when Eazy E was told he got AIDS. I said «wait… WAIT! I have questions» I wanted to get to know this guy and inquire about my general health but he seemed bothered and impatient.
Anyway, forget him. I opted for my PCP of the past 15 years knowing I lacked the insurance. It didn’t matter. My OG doctor gave me 25% off my visit. We hung out to talk for like 25 minutes to catch up, shoot the shit, and performed a holistic diagnostic of what’s ailing me in life. Anyway, just got the Kaiser douchie doctor bill for $ 90 and it was $ 60 (not covered by insurance) for my doctor of many years who surfs on his 2 hour lunch breaks. I told him not to retire any time soon and ask why he spends the time with his patients? «It’s fun! It’s like catching up with old friends» Love him. Bottom line, I’ll use Kaiser for catastrophic situations. That’s it.

I don’t think I have ever wanted to write a review with –5 stars. I had Dr. Lana Lee. Please avoid her at all costs. I have had other great Doctors at Kaiser, but she is a complete joke. She is condescending, arrogant, and just an overall b****. During my first meeting with her, she threatened to take away the only medicinal combination that has worked for me in 20 years because of my occasional use of marijuana, which helps with my insomnia. She changed my prescriptions without any consultation with me which came across as passive aggressive and unprofessional. I would not recommend her to my worst enemy.

My partner and I are trying to have a child so she referred me to the infertility office in Point Loma. When Maureen first picked up the phone I explained to her that I was trying to have a baby and that I had a couple of questions. She didn’t seem like she valued me as a member and was very short in her answers. When I asked Maureen if there were any other facilities I could visit besides this office she said she didn’t know and that she couldn’t help me. I could hear it in the tone of her voice when I would ask her a question that she was not pleased to help. As a woman seeking help in having a child I would think that the service representative would be happy to help and be resourceful if they didn’t know the answer. This is my first year with Kaiser and everything has been great, but this experience really let me down. I will definitely be sharing my experience with my friends and family as well.

Dr Schroeder and nurse Regina are really wonderful! Always on time, friendly, polite, thorough and never make you feel rushed. Everything you need in a doctor and nurse team.
In general I have great experiences with all Kaiser offices and departments.

This is not my normal doc, had to come here with a referral. I was impressed once I checked in I was seen immediately. Ya got to had it to Kaiser they are very very meticulous. I just signed up with them and they are doing a lot of preventative screening just to make sure everything is cool

It seems like their mission in life is to mess with your head. Spend a minimum of 3 hours every month trying to figure out why they cancel my daughter’s coverage. Every month. They take payment, then send out a letter that they are missing application information… not specific. Spend hours every month getting transferred from one female customer rep to another… having to give all info over again every time… reference numbers or names don’t really matter to them… they say they can’t look them up. They also can’t give full names, so that tell’s ya’ something. Then have to apply all over again. Every friggin’ month.
So, basically paying for 5 months now and NEVER getting confirmation of coverage… just a lighter checking account. If it’s this difficult to get the insurance card… after paying $ 160+ per month for basic coverage for a teen… how difficult would getting an appointment be?
Oh…and no physical administrative office in southern CA that you can walk into and fix problems like these. Tells ya’ somethin’, huh.

Dr. Schroeder and Nurse Regina are the best! Always so super friendly and are absolutely awesome at making you feel comfortable.

My doctor didn’t see me until 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. The pharmacy took 35 minutes to fill my prescription when they said it would only take 15 minutes. When I got to the pharmacy counter when they called my name, they told me they couldn’t fill my antibiotic prescription and I would have to wait until Tuesday after 2pm (my visit was on a Friday). How were they not able to fill the one prescription I really needed?! So I guess I’m supposed to suffer with my infection until Tuesday before I get any medication and relief. What a waste of my day. This place is a joke.

LVN Regina Cox and Dr. Schroeder are the best. I love love love KP. Best health care I got anywhere in the world. And I’ve been around the world. Thanks Regina thanks doc and thanks KP for trying to get me back on my feet!

So Kaiser pharmacies offer online ordering for prescriptions to be mailed to us. Great idea IF IT WORKED! I refilled 4 prescriptions 10 days ago. Kaiser called me on Jan. 19 to ask me if I was happy with my order. I explained that they had never arrived. She checked. Came back and said that all 4 HAD ALREADY BEEN MAILED ON THE 12TH! one week prior. When I got home, I found 2 in my mail box. Two are still missing. I called them back today, the 21^st, was told that one was never mailed, was waiting for me to pick up in Point Loma, but was cancelled because I never showed up to get it. Really? Oh, and one of the two that they did send, I did NOT even refill. What a calamity. Who’s running the asylum? The nuts? If my business ran this way, my customers would all go away. The pharmacy agreed to resubmit the order which had been cancelled, but one of the four that I wanted refilled, I was told it’s not even on the refill list! Well yes it is! It’s on my list of refillable prescriptions on my personal log-​in page at Kaiser’s web site. Great job people. NOT

For healthcare, this is EXACTLY what you want. Did a physical on a Friday afternoon. Got my consultation, blood work, shots, prescription — all in the same place and got EVERYTHING done in about 90 mins.
This is what good health care looks like.

Intake appointments with Kaiser Infectious Disease clinic today… I left UCSD for Kaiser, best decision I ever made concerning my health care. Everyone I spoke with went out of their way to welcome and help me. The lab is onsite also. Awesome customer service!!!

I’m very pleased with my primary care physician and this location. Parking and check-​in were extremely easy. I saw my doctor with only a two minute wait. Dr. Shaw is really personable and sweet. She seems very holistic, which I absolutely appreciate. This was my first time at any Kaiser location, so I’m glad it was a positive one. Facilities were clean and nice.

Love my Dr and all previous 14 year experience here.
They have a new centralized check in near elevator. They removed the «primary care» and other locator signs and replaced them with numbers. So check in quick and head toward what? 22?
Honestly? Not different enough to change check in? Must remove informational signs?
Be careful to pay attention to which number you’re supposed to head to for your appointment. It’s not user friendly at all.

This hidden location is super convenient for those that work/​live in the Point Loma, Old Town, OB, etc. They have a full lab and pharmacy and both are open at 8AM!
The lab can take a little longer then appreciated to get checked in, but once you’re in, they are super quick!
The pharmacy is well staffed and very knowledgeable. They got me in and out the last time I was in and if your prescriptions taking longer then you can wait, come back and get it later, they’re open late!
They don’t have a ton of medical offices, but it’s worth checking out for convenience and amazing staff!
