So I came here on a Sunday night with a couple of friends. They decided it would be best to come here and not the bowling alley in downtown due to being able to find more accessible parking at this location as downtown is almost always so congested. They were right about the parking, it was ample so that was good! No having to drive around :) I was hungry and the kitchen was closing at 9(we arrived at 8:40ish) so the woman behind our counter still took our order. Just so everyone knows, you can pay for drinks and bowling with debit, but the food was CASHONLY. So I had to drop $ 2 at the ATM to get money out. Sucks! But whatever! I ordered a cheeseburger and chili cheese fries. Both very standard bowling alley food. Not bad though! I was pretty hungry so I ate almost all of it. Those two came down to a little over $ 10. We ordered a couple pitchers of bud light, those were $ 11 each. And bowling per person, with the shoe rental, was $ 8 per person. Pretty standard all in all. It wasn’t too busy but we did have to wait a little bit to get a lane, but that didn’t matter because it gave me time to get some drinks and eat haha The only thing I didn’t like was that they ONLY turn the lights off for cosmic bowling on Fridays and Saturdays. It should be a nightly thing guys, it’s more fun that way! haha Anyway a good bowling alley with an arcade, full bar and kitchen. Not missing much so I can’t complain! :)

Fun place for bowling! Highly recommended for families with kids. Went there on New Year’s Eve and had a ball. They have a little café inside for some tasty bites, but the service can be terribly slow on holidays.

Hosted our holiday party! So fun easy lanes and nice seating and a better drink and bar station then Mira Mesa! Opened later too and seems really fun nice service!

Best bowling alley ever. Since sunset bowl close. And bartender is great; price is right. Cosmic on Friday and Saturdays.

Really fun place! I love the pool tables and game area too. Rocket bowl wasn’t too late and the music was bumpin! We were also there for karaōke night! Haha I guess there was a lot going on… My only issue is that you have to watch your stuff here. If I wasn’t DD for the night I wouldn’t have notice the dexterous gentleman in and MTS windbreaker pulling my friends phone out of her back pocket while his buddy boisterously and drunkenly distracted her. Way to ruin the night MTS dude and Mr. Diversion. Valiant effort but you’ll have to do better than that.

I really like this bowling alley. Generally, bowl at Poway Bowl or Kearny Mesa, and like this one way better. The staff is super helpful and get you on a lane quick. It’s $ 16.00/hour during the week day. The lanes are in good shape, not too greasy, and the score keeping equipment is decent quality, with interesting graphics. If you are serious about working on your game, the weekdays are the way to do it. If you want to have fun on a date, the weekend nights are hoppin’(they do the thing where they have blacklights and disco on Friday and Saturday night)! The shop is well stocked and staff is helpful, I purchased a ball here about two years ago, they got me set up quickly and personalized my ball for minimal cost. Lastly the lounge serves stiff drinks and the snack bar has some surprisingly tasty food offerings. Check it out and see what you think, don’t forget to Unilocal!it!

This review is for the bar. I wish i can give them 0 star. I came in to buy the beer and the Africa American woman said: $ 15, i gave her $ 15 then she asked for the tip, i was like«wow». What a shame. Horrible customer service

Came in with a group and it was easy enough to book. Definitely an older place and nothing particularly fancy or up to date about it – but that is also what is great. There are tons of bowling leagues run through here and it is VERY reasonably priced. They also have a little food/bar area – bring cash for that. Not sure why they don’t take cards over there… food quality is as to be expected for a bowling alley. Good place for a party or work event that you want to keep low key

Super friendly staff. It’s a bowing alley. Awesome regulars. Frustrating parents with kids who don’t understand bowling etiquette and are more worried about posting to social media instead of parenting.

Great place to chill with friends and have fun. I’ve been here during a weekday and on a weekend both in the afternoon and at night. The place always has lanes open. Sometimes it’ll be full, but usually something opens up pretty fast. This is my go to spot for bowling in SD. If you check out their website they have certain times where they dim the lights and have a special rate for bowling. Fun environment, lanes are never«broken» like they are at other places and the prices are fair.

This place is a-ok. We had a work event there at the same time as a few other events… They had usual bowling alley food, pizzas and pretzels and all. They have a full bar, and pool tables… Seems like an ok place to be in a league at and have a beer. Pretty old-school, not really updated at all, but ok :)

Cosmic bowl, local and nicely waxed up lanes. It’s the perfect place for a competitive bowler or a family looking for a fun night out. I’ve tried other bowling alleys near by and like this one the best. Just don’t show up between 5:30−9pm because of league bowling. They also have karaōke, pool tables and an arcade.

Wow, a friend just got us some cocktails here and the bartender gave us very generous pours. This place is full tonight of people having fun bowling, eating, drinking, and laughing. Food and drinks are served quickly and the noise level is high. Come down with a big group for an alternative to loud clubs.

Great time as always. I didn’t bowl tonight but my friend is Ina league and I came to have a drink. More so than the competition spirit among leagues like other bowling alleys in town here I find there is a unique sense of family ambiance. Their drinks are on point. Their food it’s always delicious also Karaōke it’s fun guaranteed no matter what.

I’m not a huge bowling fan but I have been here several times or so and finally decided to write a review about it. The foods Okay & there’s a bar there to hang out & chill. But found the karaōke stage to be a little fun. Even though most people who sing karaōke either suck and were forced to, or know they are okay and annoy ppl anyway by singing too many damn songs. Well who knows alcohol always helps right? Back to the bowling alley. This place isn’t as crowded as the other bowling alley I used to go to in Mira Mesa. The crowd here is a little older too. Or it could have been the timing. Well I definitely will come back here if I ever have the urge to bowl which isn’t frequent.

Well… so its bowling. Which I like, it’s fun and all, but this place is pretty run down and filthy. The staff was a-ok, the drinks were fine and cheap-but it’s gross-My fingers were turning black from using the bowling balls. The shoes freaked me out too-It was like a movie scene with the guy behind the counter spraying them in a cloud of aerosol sanitizer. When we arrived a couple was getting into it in the parking lot screaming profanities and once we met our friends who had already arrived they let us know that someone had already gotten up in their face in the pool room/bar area. Geez, just trying to get our nerd on and knock down some pins! The lanes are not in the greatest repair-ours had to be reset and bowling balls kept getting stuck in the lanes. On the way out there had been a cake fight and kusdos to the staff who was getting it cleaned up but the kids who had done it had trashed the sink area in the bathroom with crumbs and water everywhere as they tried to get it out of their hair. As far as bowling options go, I’ll drive farther to have to deal with less in the future.

Doesn’t take reservations, and usually a long wait on a weekend. We came on a Saturday night around 6, and the wait was estimated around 40 minutes. You also can’t bring outside food or drink in(although we snuck some in). This place is your typical bowling alley… It’s a little dirty, smells of french fries and grease, but is a reasonable price. You pay by the hour, not by the game, so with our group of 7 people we managed to get two games in a little over 2 hours. When our 2 hours was up, we had 1 frame left and the cashier was nice enough to let us finish the game before cutting us off. I wouldn’t recommend getting food here… Definitely saw the cashiers/cooks handling money and food without washing their hands in between. I personally wouldn’t order food at a bowling alley anyway, but they seemed to have a steady stream of orders. Wish they’d play some music over the speakers so you could dance around when it wasn’t your turn — but it’s a fun place overall!

I’ve been going here for many years and its always been the same. Generally I think that they need a lot of upgrading. They have a small room with a full bar. A few small pool tables, the ones you put four quarters into to play. They also have a small karaōke stage in the back. The food here is decent and cheap. We usually go here around 9PM. It is $ 16-$ 20 per lane depending on what day you go. All lanes are first come first serve! NORESERVATIONS! Sometimes there is a wait, so arrive a little bit early. Shoe rentals are $ 4 Socks are $ 3 I think they need a system upgrade because 80% of the time, when we try to start a new game, it never works. It never lets us choose that option. Sometimes the ball will get stuck or a pin will get stuck. If you don’t have the right size ball at your station, you will have to walk around to find one thats available. Most of the sizes go by color. For example, Yellow Ball — 7 lbs Bright Red Ball — 8lbs Purple Ball — 9lbs Green Ball — 14lbs etc. etc. etc. Overall just your classic bowling alley. Nothing special here.

Eh… it’s a bowling alley, plain and simple. Nothing special or high tech about this place. It looks like you’re in a time warp back to the ‘70s or ‘80s. I’m not sure much has been updated since those days. I’ve definitely been to flashier bowling alleys in San Diego, like Tavern in Escondido. I arrived on a Thursday night around 8 p.m. and discovered that league bowling doesn’t end until 9:15 p.m. My bowling partner and I decided to head over to the bar and grab a drink to kill the time. I was pleased to discover that they carry cider and we sat back and talked while we waited for our time to bowl. We ended up renting the lane for an hour and played two games before we decided to call it quits. I think we could have squeezed a third game in but it was getting late for a work night. It looks like you pay per lane and not per bowler, which is a nice perk if you have a group of friends.

Feeling like you want to get some dirt under your nails, chit-chat with some sketchy locals, sing some karaōke or even lose a few buck on the pool table? Look no further, friends, Kearny Mesa Bowl has all those bases covered. I’ve randomly wandered in here twice in the last four or five months and both times has a pretty decent time. No, it’s not the glitz and glam with gourmet food, craft cocktails and pretty girls bowling sockless and in a party dress because they took a fun detour before their evening at a downtown club. KMB is in fact the furthest thing from that. Pitchers of beer flowing, hooting and hollering, female beer guts and greasy dudes licking the nacho cheese off of their fingers after throwing a respectable 175. This place really does embody bowling in its truest form and how the ancient Egyptians intended it to be. Seriously, they invented it, we think. «A British anthropologist, Sir Flinders Petrie, discovered in the 1930’s a collection of objects in a child’s grave in Egypt that appeared to him to be used for a crude form of bowling. If he was correct, then bowling traces its ancestry to 3200BC.» Go catch a good case of athletes foot and drown your long work week with a stiff cocktail and some of KMB’s delicious sliders! Thank me later…
