I was writing a review but discovered they went out of business already, that was quick :(

I have been enjoying this sushi place for about a month for their low cost Poke bowls. I went the other day and it was closed… they seem to be out of business.

My hopes for food options in a food court are usually not too high. Reduce expectations to avoid disappointment. I took a chance and gave this new place a try. Usually suspicious of spicy salmon or spicy tuna orders in case the spice masks fresh fish. This place is legit. Salmon is über fresh. Good balance of spice. Edamame is a nice touch. Will be back!

Below average Japanese bento boxes. Cooked with no love. You can taste the indifference of the chef on the food.

Well… I tried ordering the Philly roll from here today. It was the sorriest 8-roll set I’ve ever seen or had the misfortune to order in my life. I mean, the presentation was very nice and it came with a small salad, along with some edamame beans and gyoza on the side — but I ordered Philadelphia rolls, not a platter of poorly seasoned and very loosely(if at all) pressed rice, and a couple of meager sides. To give an idea, the salmon itself was the size of a fruity Trident gum; the cucumber were a quarter of a quarter’s size, cubed. The roll itself was pretty huge, ¾ of an inch in radius. Hopefully that gives a person an idea of how disproportionate the rice was to the cream cheese, and lastly(and by far, worstly), the salmon itself. Pretty abysmal, to say the least. I regret not taking pictures; I’ll probably go back and order some to post them here in an updated review in the near future.

The food here is suck, well at least the one that me and my sister order anyway. There are only two things that is up to satisfactory in Konkatsu bento is the salad and the fried dumpling, the fried pork cutlet batter layer fall off when we try to pick it up with our chopstick, the rolls that come with it isn’t being roll tight enough so it also fall apart. And for my beef don, the sauce is really sweet so when the rice under it soak it all up the whole bowl is sweet, not to mention they also put a piece of décor plastic grass on it which seem to have no serving purpose at all to me but could cause choke accident.

I usually come to this food court for the other food there offer here but I tried this sushi place. I actually liked the salmon don which had raw salmon, fish eggs, salad, and rice($ 9). The rice was marinated with vinegar and it complimented the raw salmon. I also ordered the California rolls($ 2.99) which was made super big, but only 4 pieces. Still amazing even though it wasn’t the usual rolls. I would definitely come back for the price and there’s not many people in the food court so you have your space. Plus side, you don’t have to put tip!

The cashier was very rude to me. I ordered a raw salmon bento for dine in. She forgot to give me wasabi. I waited until she finished serving all the customers, then I received the wasabi. After I finished my bento, I requested a cover for my box so that I could take the leftover home. Again I waited until she finished serving all other customers. She said«We don’t have the cover», but at the same time she prepared a bento with cover for another customer. I pointed to her, and she said«I cannot give you a cover. I can only give you a plastic bag.» I asked if there is any extra charge for take out order. She said no. Then why can’t I have a cover? All I need is just a cover! I don’t even mind to pay for it. She told me «Because your transaction is already done.» That’s why I could not receive anymore customer service. I will never go to this SushiMan anymore. So disgusting. I want to give them zero star. In addition, the food was below average. The salmon wasn’t very good, but the rice was acceptable.

This is the new location coming from Clairemont Square. I have not visited in over a year now and they have now added more items, but the taste and preparation is gone. The food is so basic now. The rice isn’t as good and put together mechanically. The fish isn’t seasoned. I thought they would make the food court in Zion step their game up since it’s pretty bad overall but it looks like they think don’t have to try as hard since they’re still better than their neighbors.
