Good food. Especially the sumo bowl. My husband gets it all the time we walk in. And their sushi rolls yum. Very clean. Plenty of places to sit. Great service. Overall A+

Sushi here is generally OK. You can’t expect much from a small sushi chain. But at least customer service is always good. FOOD: Bento #2 Platter — Steamed rice, chicken cutlets, deep fried shrimp with bread crumbs, and japaense seaweed salad. $ 5.99 — Personally I think this plate is the best for your money, you get a large portion of meat. I could barely finish the whole thing. The meats are lightly breaded and not overcooked either and still has the crunchy feel. Crunch Roll — Rice, Krab Stick, Grilled Chicken, and Battered Shrimp Tempura $ 6.09 — Probably one of the few sushi places that offers chicken in sushi… sounds weird as much as it tastes. It’s only good because its a crunch roll, but its OK because its chicken instead of fish. Philadelphia Roll — Smoked Salmon, Cream Cheese, and Cucumber $ 5.69 — Generous portion of raw salmon and cream cheese. Rice seems a bit soggy though. Not much flavor. Unagi Roll — Sweet Water BBQ Eel, Cucumber, Avocado, Lettuce &Eel Sauce $ 5.89 — You can taste the eel and the sauce. This is one of the more decent rolls. Overall this is just a cheap and quick place to grab sushi for lunch time. They only offer all the basic rolls and some specialty rolls. But they do have bento combos, steak/chicken wraps, and appetizers. Appetizers do have a pretty good value though. Most of the items range from 79cents to $ 2.99. This includes Green Salad, Edamame, Seaweed Salad, Fried Gyoza, Krab Rangoon, Miso Soup and Eggrolls.

I’m trying to use up as many entertainment coupons as possible! Sushi hut offers a buy one get one free up to $ 5.00 coupon. Got the $ 5.89 chicken teriyaki and 4 pieces of california rolls. Not a huge portion but at least the chicken isn’t overcooked and their california rolls are pretty large in size. It also comes with a side of bland steamed cabbage and carrots. I also got the orange roll for $ 5.29. 8 large pieces of california rolls topped with orange masago. Hardly any avocado but I can’t complain since with the coupon this was only 29 cents. Sushi Hut isn’t a place that you come if you want good sushi. It’s cheap and fast and the workers are really nice here. Come back again? For sure! I got 3 more coupons!

Ok now that they have been educated about washing their hands and watching how they have everything I feel ok about having fast food sushi! I watched the manager make me the Lava Roll. It was very enjoyable!

I think this place deserves better. Full disclosure — I usually order the chicken teriyaki bowl(no veggies), but I come here for lunch at least once a week. If you want great sushi, pay the price, take the time, and go to Shogun down the street. This place is perfect for a quick lunch. Service is good, chicken is tasty, and the self-serve sauces are delicious. I love the spicy teriyaki and the spicy mayo. The sumo bowl with beef is also tasty.

I like this place. Quick and economical Japanese food. The bento plates and sushi combos are sufficient. Don’t come here and expect high-end sushi, but it is better than the grocery-made ones.

This is what I would call fast food sushi and for our family, it meets our needs! The staff are super friendly and accommodating. You can get a whole tray of sushi for the price of one little plate of 6 – 8 rolls at a more expensive upscale restaurant. My two year old son is a huge fan of the miso soup and the staff kept filling his bowl for no extra charge. My daughter liked the California rolls and the edamame. It’s a kid friendly place and easily assesible. Great parking.

Went here after a night of flu shots and my oldest getting vaccinations on top of a flu shot, she wanted sushi. It was nearby and cheap. It was also good. My wife got a sushi assortment, I got the chicken teryaki bowl because I wasn’t feeling very sushi that night. The sushi was tasty and good according to my wife and kids. They brought over miso soup and offered extra to the kids if they wanted it. The chicken teryaki was awesome. I’ve been looking for a good chicken teryaki joint since I moved from Seattle and either the chicken is stringy and mixed with veggies, or clearly frozen and disgusting. This chicken was properly cooked, couldn’t taste any freezerburn, and very tender. The teriyaki sauce was delicious as well and they had no problem offering more for me to drench my rice, which was a little too sticky. The real only complaint I have is that they put the ‘salad’ on top of my rice which resulted in warm salad. Not the best, but I wasn’t going to eat it anyway. Still. Recommended!

Eaten here 4 or 5 times and the food is consistently good. I love the beef teriyaki for some reason. This time I mentioned to the cashier, that it was nice to see her and not some young guy that is more interested in his cell phone than taking care of his customers.

to sum it up shorty = youre better off buying sushi from the grocery store or costco. the food is sub-par and the prices arent even all that great considering you can get quality sushi at a real/authentic restaurant for about the same price point their sashimi smells and tastes fishy. the rolls are only big due to the large amounts of rice they use. the ingredients used dont appear to be fresh at all … the service was terrible, the cashier was rude and made me lose my appetite

Teriyaki chicken. nuff said. The place is always kept clean, the staff is always friendly and pretty quick at getting your good at. Their sushi is pretty good, I see a lot of the people complaining in the other reviews– if you want awesome sushi, go to Shoguns. You should know the cali rolls aren’t going to ‘wow’ you when you get a 6 piece for like $ 4. but its definitely good. Generally when I describe this place to my friends, I refer to it as a Japanese ‘panda xpres with sushi’.

Pretty mediocre. Went during lunch and got Rainbow roll and Cali roll. It was 6 or 7 bucks for the Rainbow and like 3 bucks(maybe 2.?) for the Cali cuz I got 4 pieces. So prices are cheap, but that should’ve been a good indication about the quality. There was a bit of a wait considering I was the only one that order sushi, but not unbearably long. The sushi rice was very sticky, but the imitation crab was really dry. It’s kinda hard to describe because it was sticky yet dry. The rice didn’t taste good, I’m not sure what they put in it but it didn’t taste right. You know how you can get those crappy sushi from Costco? It’s like that. Sticky, mushy rice. The fish on the Rainbow roll was okay. The tuna wasn’t very good. The shrimp and salmon were decent. Either way, not very good sushi. Not coming back.

I use to come here all the time back in 2003 just because i had friends that worked there. Food was just ok back then but cant complain when its free. Today, the food is still the same as back then; just ok. But now i have to shell out a few bucks for it. I cant believe this place is still open. Service has always been on the slow side. I dont think its really worth it to go here. Theres better places to check out in MM.

Good and fresh sushi, surprising for an express sushi place. My favorite was the Zoey roll spicy and oh so yummy. I easily spend $ 40 between my Gf’s and I trying out the different rolls. I’ll definitely come back again when I want a quick sushi fix.

Chicken teryaki bowl should normally have a good size of chicken right? 95% rice and 5% chicken… yikes!

Went here today to get food on my lunch break. Should have called in my order because I spent the entire time waiting on their staff to make my small order. Once I got the food I realized how little I was getting for the money I was spending. Over $ 10 spent for an super small meal. I hoped it was worth it and left. Finally getting back to my office, I sat down to eat. All the sauce that was suppose to be ONTOP of my roll was spread all around the tray. None of it actually on the roll… The egg roll that came along with my order was the size of my thumb! It was more than disappointing.

My friend had a coupon(buy 1, get 1 free deal) so we decided to eat lunch here. Lots of parking, no waiting. Food was prepared quickly. My friend ordered Bento Box #2 which included Teriyaki chicken, rice, 4 california rolls, and some veggies. I ordered another bento box that had some crispy breaded chicken, rice, 2 pieces of shrimp tempura, and some seawood stuff. Their california rolls aren’t that great. It didn’t seem fresh to me. The tempura and veggies were okay. The breaded chicken that I had was pretty good and extra crunchy. I also liked the Teriyaki chicken that my friend ordered. I expected the bento boxes to be a bit bigger for what we paid for but oh well. Their spicy teriyaki sauce is pretty good and you can get that from one of their squirt bottles near the cashier. The chef and cashier were very nice and the place was clean. I don’t think I would be going here if I didn’t have a coupon. I wouldn’t recommend this to my friends if they really wanted good sushi or something. But, I would go here if I wanted some teriyaki or chicken for a quick bite.

Visited on a whim especially since a coupon was available. Arrived before 6pm in anticipation of the dinner crowd(there were a total of only 3 customers in the store) and was a bit disappointed that this place was a «fastfood sushi spot». Guess I should have read the reviews before we drove all the way to the Convoy area. I had a glimmer of(fleeting) hope when I saw they had Lava rolls available on the menu. Sadly, they got an earlier order of 4 party plates and all the Lava Rolls were gone(that would have been an automatic additional star — I am a Lava Roll fan!). We decided to go with the Tonkatsu(breaded chicken) and Beef mixed plates plus the assorted sushi combo(we needed to spend $ 35 to use the $ 25 coupon). I do like the fact that multiple sauce options are available(teriyaki, hot mayo, ponzu, etc.) The food is average, between 2 and 3 stars really. But my little one had no issues with his meal so I’ll kick it up a notch and say that this place is ok.

I’m really surprised at the low ratings that this place has :/ I came here after a dentist appointment and before class for a quick bite to eat. I ordered a small teriyaki rice bowl to go. It was less than $ 5 and they made it pretty fast — rice in a bowl, some veggies and the teriyaki chicken. I arrive at school quickly ate before I went into class. The rice was really good. Warm, fluffy and sticky — just how I like it. The veggies wern’t anything special, but they were still good(broccoli, carrots and cabbage) and the chicken was decent and the sauce of the chicken tasted pretty good. Overall, 4 stars for my teriyaki rice bowl, but I guess I have to try the sushi and rate it again.
