This place is deep in the heart of the Mall but worth your time! Call ahead if you are in a rush but otherwise sit back and enjoy the cool vibe and nice tunes. The food is made to order so it’s worth the wait and delicious! Their mac salad is not saturated in mayo but still tangy and yummy! Love their BBQ beef and their chicken wings.

I used to love the food here, it was quick and cooked well. I went last week and ordered it to go. The chicken Katsu was barely fried and the side salad had old lettuce. Please improve the quality like you used to have!

The food is always good here. Price is reasonable. I stick with the bbq chicken and my wife loves the katsu. The mac salad is the best.

Came into L&L the girl at the register had the rudest attitude both times. Ordered a regular chicken katsu plate double rice no Mac and 3 spams. Came home and saw I got Mac with it and 3 spam masubis!!! That’s not what I said nor wanted. Called and said«to come back and they’ll figure it out.» Came back and they refunded me the dollar and some change for the spam masubi difference. Checked our food and the spam was barely cooked… At this point it’s not even worth it to say anything. The girl was still rude and not even sorry for the mistake. Worst customer service ever. About to go home and recook the spam the RIGHT way.

Still a super solid amount of food for the price & this location happens to be more generous than others when it comes to dishing out the side items. A mini will run somewhere between $ 5-$ 6 now, but it’ll definitely fill you up more than a bowl at Chipotle or a burrito from a Mexican food joint at a price point slightly lower as well. Not as good as Homestyle but it’ll do if you’re in the area and looking to fill up.

It’s a funny place to be in. The workers always look unhappy. Sometime the food is over cooked and At least tonight it’s not overflowing with trash and the drink area is clean. I think people should smile a little more.

I love their weekly specials! The BBQ mix plate is my favorite and comes with rice, macaroni salad, BBQ beef, short ribs, and chicken. On Mondays, it’s $ 7.99 and if you check in you get 10% off your order! Such a great deal for so much food.

I absolutely love coming here as a treat to myself. The loco moco is delicious and a huge portion enough to go into a food coma! The chicken Katsu is amazing and the service is almost always very friendly. Sometimes they seem a little rushed tho… hence the 4 stars instead of 5.

Went today with a few friends and enjoyed my meal once it came. I chose to eat the Katsu Chicken this time and once again enjoyed it greatly. The chicken is always cooked perfectly and the sauce, well the sauce is just delicious. I chose to get the regular size for the first time and it was so much food for $ 9, which was awesome! The reason I gave them a 3 star was because my friends and I had to wait 20minutes for our food which it normally comes out much faster. Also the last few times the macaroni salad has not been on point. This time it was very watery and lacked a lot of flavor. All in all, I would go here again, because you get a lot of great food for a reasonable price.

They will not pick up their phone no matter how many times you call so do not even bother to try calling.

This is located in the Mira Mesa mall. I would say their best item is the Chicken Katsu and the Spam Musubi. The Katsu is nice and crispy, accompanied by a tasty BBQ sauce to add extra flavor. I even pour some of it on the Macaroni Salad and rice. Other popular dishes are the BBQ beef ribs and BBQ chicken. The plates come in a mini size or regular size(enough for 2) Food may not be as good as the real stuff from Hawaii, but they’re still great. Location is nice and clean with plenty of seating. There’s lots of parking surrounding the Mira Mesa mall. When you park, you’ll have to walk towards the middle. L&Ls is a popular restaurant chain that has opened many spots in the San Diego county.

I’ve been going to L&L ever since high school but haven’t been back in a while. My high school brother recently brought some home and it’s just as good as I remember! Pros: — Chicken Katsu — Spam Musubi — Macaroni Salad — Easy parking — Fairly cheap pricing Cons: — Sometimes the food takes a little while to come out — The tables aren’t always clean feeling If you get the plate and you don’t want the mac or rice, you can ask them to sub it for 2 scoops of the other without charge! :)

it’s been a while since I last ate at L&L so I opted to head over today instead of my regular asian food choices, and I’m glad I did. I ordered the Mixed BBQ plate which consists of barbecue beef, chicken and short ribs. It comes with two scoop rice and macaroni salad. For $ 8.95, it simpy is a very satisfying meal!

I just got done with grocery shopping at Vons. I didn’t feel like cooking. So I checked Unilocal to see what’s near and what sounds good. L&L came up. I’ve been hear before and it’s the only Hawaiian food joint. So I walked it and was greeted by a nice young lady. I ordered a KaLua pig w/cabbage and a chicken katsu. My two faves. I also used my 10% off if you check in. After I paid the young lady offered me water while I wait for my to go. I like that. So overall experience was good. The food is good and customer service is great.

I’ve been coming to this location for years. There is nothing I love more than spam masubi and chicken katsu. The macaroni here is delish. If you haven’t been to any of the L&L locations before you’ll be amazed with its awesome Hawaiian décor and their tasty food.

I have been to a few L&L Hawaiian BBQ’s around San Diego. For years, I have enjoyed their food. From the chicken katsu to the teriyaki beef to the BBQ chicken. I am a big fan of their menu. Who else puts rice and macaroni salad together? No one. For lunch, you can’t beat the teriyaki bowls. For around five bucks; you get a plastic bowl full of rice and steamed vegetables(broccoli and carrots) with your choice of three different meats. I am guessing beef, BBQ chicken or chicken katsu. I chose the beef. Just enough food to kill any hunger but not leave you in a coma. As far as service. You get a mixed bag. Sometimes they are real nice and you get quick prompt service. Sometimes they are not so friendly and your order is real slow coming out. Either way the food has always been consistently hot, flavorful and satisfying. I am a fan of Hawaiian fare. I can eat it every day. This is closest you will get to Hawaiian food besides going to the islands yourself. Eat here.

Their quality and portion size has definitely gone down the drain these past few years. I used to always mention to everyone how this specific location always fills up your boxes to the top, where you almost have trouble keeping the box closed. They used to always have a generous portion of meat, rice, AND especially a butt load of mac salad. But now, I’m really hesitant to go here anymore after visiting again yesterday. Breakfast Combo $ 7.25 This breakfast combo looked more like a kids meal. Two small skimpy rice scoops, a layer of eggs, and four pieces of meat. Tiny pieces of meat. Im sorry, but thats not enough food for a grown man. BBQ Mix Plate $ 8.95 Two small scoops of rice, and one small scoop of mac salad. Personally, I’ve always loved their mac salad. But seeing that there was not an even proportion of rice and mac salad made me quite disappointed. There was a nice chunk of BBQ chicken meat, but very skimpy two slices of teriyaki beef and one piece of short ribs. Quality was not the best. I’ve definitely had a lot better. Overall, this place is just isn’t as good as it used to be. I’d rather go to Homestyle Hawaiian in Kearny Mesa.

Came here for lunch on a Tuesday with a few co-workers. We ordered the ½ chicken katsu, ½ kahlua pork and the spam musubi and bbq chicken musubi. The chicken katsu is one of the popular dishes and I generally like it, however L&L tends to have some fatty chicken pieces. I’ve had katsu from other places and it isn’t fatty. I tend to cut out the fatty parts. Kahlua pork was a bit bland. It needed some seasoning added to give it more flavor. The musubi were both good. The bbq chicken had a fairly large piece of chicken on it and the spam is as expected. This location is in a strip mall so it’s nice to have a Starbucks right there and a dessert store across the way.

L&L’s has always been my go to spot for hawaiian bbq and spam masubi since it’s just a minute drive away. I like most of the foods here but sometimes I think the food’s quality has to do with who’s cooking really. This is because I’ve had food that was really great just how I want it and sometimes I’m like wth happened lol. The consistency has always been changing every now and then. Sometimes the macaroni salad tastes different, or the rice is mushy, or the bbq is slightly off from how I remembered it. The only thing that’s stayed the same is their spam masubi. All the plates I’ve ordered, they have been really good but change in taste slightly. I can only think maybe it’s the cook at the time of my order. Other than that, L&L’s is gonna be my spot no matter what just hope they don’t mess up somehow down the long line of to go orders I’ve yet to order.

Love this location of L&L’s! There are plenty of parking in the front(Von’s) or in the back(Marshall’s). Customer service is always great here as well! I was in a rush to grab my food because I had work real soon and the cashier was extremely nice about it. He even went to the back kitchen to help them because the kitchen was understaffed! The food here is always consistent and really good! They definitely give you a lot of meat, especially since the prices aren’t that cheap! I would always get a full Chicken Katsu meal and replace my rice with extra mac salad. This location tastes a lot better in my opinion because the chicken is not too oily and there are a lot of meat in comparison to the batter. The mac salad was also really good, not bland at all. I recommend: — Chicken Katsu meal
