A year ago the place had a different name and the food and service were pretty good. Now the portions have less meat and while the waiter and waitress is fast, the kitchen is very very slow to get out the meals.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful dining experience here earlier today. We shared the Thai Dumplings and Coconut Shrimp to start, both flavorful. Then he had some Drunken Noodles with Beef, which was tender and not at all greasy tasting(in my opinion pad Thai and other types of noodles dishes can often taste greasy). I enjoyed some very delicious Green Curry with large chunks of eggplant. Then we finished off the meal with the crispy bananas(basically bananas in fried wanton form with some honey and crushed peanuts). The bananas were ok, but in no way ruined our whole meal. We will definitely be back again. Oh, and the whole place was empty, just for us, which was pretty cool. And they offer 50% off apps or 20% off entrées from around 4 – 6(double check the time) Enjoy!

The food takes a really long time. I came in on a Sunday at 7:15 and ordered one Pad Thai and some soup to go. The restaurant didn’t look very busy. After the man ran my credit card and charged me, he told me it would be 25 minutes. It actually took 35 minutes. If the food takes that long, it would be nice to let the customer know before hand. I gave them three stars because they were really nice… the food? The portion was big and the taste was just okay. I probably wouldn’t wait 35 minutes for it again, though.

Wow what an awful place… So I got to this place and didn’t really know what to get so I thought, I’m at a Thai restaurant I can’t go wrong with pad thai… WRONG! It took about 45 minutes for the food to get out and when it did the pad thai noodles were undercooked and the«spicy» level of 7 was sweet, not spicy. The thai iced tea was okay, most likely because they buy it already made and just add cream to it… I left this place shaking my head :/1 star

Their Pad Thai and Crying Tiger are must haves. The lemon grass soup is wonderful also. I was pleasantly surprised. Love the location and the convenience of being able to order online. Will be a regular customer for sure :)

I want to post 0 stars but Unilocal won’t let me, so I am forced to give 1. My friends and I waited a good one hour and a half before getting our food which was sub par. Our dishes that were respectively 3 and 4 on the spice scale but they didn’t even taste like a one. The vegetables did not seem fresh, probably frozen, disappointing. To top it all off, when my friend got her salad, she found a hair. AND she found a hair in her Thai tea!(Disclaimer: they definitely were not my friend’s hairs) I know we shouldn’t have expected something like a discount or for the bill to be comped, but with this kind of unprofessionalism, I feel as if it were necessary. Overall not a good experience.

The beef was either rotten or some other kind of barnyard tasting meat passed off as beef. My stomach is sick. I posted my original review right after leaving the restaurant. I did mention this issue to my server and nothing was offered to remedy the situation.

We were frequent«Thai-Go» goers before Lai Thai took over. When Lai Thai first took over ownership we visited and were sat down… their service was non-attentive and slow — thus we walked out before even eating there. Flash foward to now, and we gave them a second chance visit and this time weren’t disappointed. In fact it was pretty good. The food seems near same, with slight variations, to the main recipes. We had the Pad Sew, Pad Thai, Red Curry, and Orange Chicken. All were good especially the Orange Chicken. Looking forward to re-visiting and trying out more of the menu.

This is a review for Lai Thai’s food. Service is attentive and décor is nice and clean. I had been going to Thai Go for many years. I enjoyed ThaiGo as a good Thai restaurant for after Carmel Mountain errands. This time dinner was subpar and I may not return. Maybe it’s the new management? We ordered vegetable cashew nut and chicken pad Thai. The flavors for both were off and not tasty. Instead, it was overwhelmingly sweet and salty. It was unappetizing, as was the cold dry bowl of rice it came with :( Hopefully, the flavors will improve overtime.

Décor — nice Food — Average Service — far below average– reason for 2 ½ star. maybe the server, she is was not helpful for menu and I felt she hate to work here or having a bad day.

Came here for lunch with co-workers. Company just moved into the area so we are trying all the restaurants. Order my fav. green curry with tofu, with 7 as being spicy. it was lukewarm, and it was not 7, 3 or 4 at best. portion was small. And the service was VERYSLOW. took forever to get our order. And there was a gentlemen sitting alone and was already there when we got seated and saw him leave since no one came to his table, so who knows how long he was sitting there. With the area having so many restaurants to choose from, you would think they would be attentive. Will not be coming back.

One of the better options in north county San Diego. Their fried rice is delicious and flavorful. Same as their drunken noodles. Pick the meat of your choice but I highly recommend the roasted duck with their fried rice. Ive always had quick service here. Waiters and waitresses are nice and attentive. Couldn’t ask for more !

We love Lai Thai! It was cold tonight so we decided to go to Lai Thai for some hot and spicy food. This is the second time we have been in the last few weeks. We decided to try this restaurant when we got a coupon in the mail last month. The first trip the food was really good, we got panang curry which was awesome but the waitress brought me vegetarian instead of chicken. I also got the beef yum salad which was pretty good, and my wife got the drunken noodles that she loved. This time we decided to try the Hawaiian fried rice and it was amazing. I also got the spicy Thai soup with chicken and the beef yum salad with shrimp instead of beef, AMAZING! My wife said her drunken noodles were excellent again tonight too! Our server was very attentive and polite, great service! The portions here are very big! My wife and I are big eaters and we brought home a lot of food tonight! Another great thing about this restaurant is that they have some amazing blended fruit drinks too. If you like Thai food, give this restaurant a try! The food is very fresh and tasty.

Food was decent. No complaints, But quite frankly, I’ve had better Thai food. I would have given them 3 star for the food but the service was really horrible. It took forever for someone to get our order. No one came by to offer refill on drinks, or asked how the food was. The side order my daughter ordered came just as we were about to be done with the meal. Right now we have been done eating our meal for about 15 minutes and are still sitting at the table with our plates drying up in front of us. No one has come by to ask if we want«to go» boxes. The server continues to walk past us like lightning. Hopefully they’re just short staffed today. Otherwise, this service is simply unacceptable.

I have eaten here several times and the food is good. However, the service is questionable at best. The last time, and final time, I waited twenty-five minutes before it was discovered they lost my order. I was seated by the first waitress. A second waitress came over to take my drink and food order. Five minutes later the first waitress returned to take our drink order. I explained we already gave our order, but she took our drink order again. She returned with our drinks a few minutes later. Fifteen minutes went by when I called the waitress over to ask about our food. Before I could speak she asked if we were ready to place our food order. I told her I would take the check and pay for our drinks. It was too late and I no longer had the time to have lunch. Nor did I have confidence they could figure out my order. That is far too long to let patrons wait until you realize their order was lost and you come over to take it. Waiting 25 minutes during lunch is inexcusable. I had to leave without eating.

Not familiar with Thai food. Figure we give this place a shot since we had some coupons. We had lunch, we ordered Cashew curry, yellow curry with Jasmine rice. It was very good. The waitresses where very nice and we will return again to try other dishes . Well we came back again and enjoyed our dinner looks like this is getting to be a family favorite.

Seeing that it’s changed ownership, we decided to give it a try, we also have coupons of it as well. I ordered the Tiger Cry and it was not good at all. While the dipping sauce was good, but I’ve had much better before at another thai restaurant. the Beef they used were not good quality and the way they cooked it looked like char-siu(Chinese bbq pork). It should be steak-like(medium rare). I do not recommend this dish. My husband ordered a curry seafood noodle dish, and that was much better than mine. They gave plenty of seafood which consist of green mussels, shrimps, scallops, and squids. I would order this again. Both dishes were $ 16. Service was just okay. the waiter who was working there seemed to not have a very good memory. when asked for water, it took him forever to get back to us. When asked for to go boxes. the next thing I saw him was cleaning tables while I was sitting there staring at him. when he finally turned around and saw me then he remembered.

Ugh… Where to start. I decided to give this place another try thinking it was possible we just caught them on a bad day. Upon entering I noticed the place removed the paper table coverings. What a pleasant surprise. It appeared to be cleaner as well. I now had high hopes this time around. Unfortunately everything went down hill from there. I ordered sweet and sour chicken again as I did like the chicken last time. When they brought it out it was placed in front of me and the waitress said orange chicken. Immediately recognizing this looked completely different from last time I said I ordered sweet and sour chicken. She then proceeded to tell me it was the sweet and sour chicken and only looked like orange chicken. I’ll attach a photo so you can see the difference from my last review. I’m no dummy and know when it looks like orange chicken and tastes like orange chicken it must be orange chicken. Instead of being a jerk and insisting it wasn’t sweet and sour chicken I ate it anyhow. I must admit it was okay but I can go to Panda Express for the same thing at half the cost. My girlfriend ordered the spicy noodles and was served pan fried noodles. When they noticed she didn’t like it and asked why, they told her she didn’t order spicy noodles but pan fried noodles. Once again no accountability for anything. They did say they would make something else instead but my girlfriend was too disappointed to want to eat anymore. They said they would do something for it. They did take off half her order but I would expect a restaurant of this caliber to take it all off as she had less than two bites. It wasn’t just the wrong order but also bad taste. I then noticed the big framed sign in front saying something along the lines of they will only make a replacement item and not a refund. I guess this comes up a lot. Instead of fixing the issues they just make a sign. You would hope an establishment wouldn’t have a sign basically assuming they will make a mistake, but I can’t argue with their assumption. Please Lai Thai don’t respond again saying you are sorry and want to do better. Take that effort and put it into fixing issues before they happen so you won’t have another displeased customer like me. I won’t be coming back ever.

First time trying this place, and I wish I stuck to my usual/favorite Thai restaurants like Siam Nara in Mira Mesa or Sab E lee in PQ. The food was alright. For the price you pay, I don’t think it’s worth it. I got the pad see ew with chicken which was 10.95 and their fresh spring rolls which was 8.95. The pad see ew wasn’t really like the others I’ve had at other Thai restaurants. The first bite tasted good and every bite after that tasted like black pepper which made me lose me appetite because it was all I could taste. The fresh spring rolls were average not the best I’ve tried. The rolls weren’t really wrapped tight because as I bit into them it was loose and the contents inside started coming out of the wrapper. I don’t think I’ll be back here. I recommend going to a better Thai restaurant!
