Larry A Hudson Plumbing

Wish I could give them ZERO stars.
My mother (87) used Larry Hudson Plumbing several times this year. I don’t normally write bad reviews on anyone or anything, but this company really blew it! In fact, the last «repair» trip they made to my Mom’s resulted in a flood. A little background is worth mentioning: Every time she used her washing machine, the nearby bathtub would back-​up with water. Rep from Larry Hudson plumbing came out and seemed to poke around and did some sort of repair. When he tested the machine, nothing backed up. The next time my Mom did laundry, the problem occurred again. She called for plumber to come back again. Same drill… poking around, testing, and seemed to be fixed. Third time she does laundry, it backs up into the tub yet again! She calls them and the owner said he cannot understand what is going on and he’ll personally come out to inspect, with the original rep. They booked a period of time to come over on Valentine’s Day. My Mom cancelled her plans and waited ALL DAY into the evening. She called early that evening to check status and someone (she thinks may have been the owner) acted shocked that no one was there yet. So, no one showed up that night and she wasted the whole day waiting for nothing. When they finally came in the subsequent days, the problem was checked once again and they seemed to fix it. The next time my Mom does laundry, she rushes to the bathroom to check to see if the tub is backing up and viola! it’s fixed! Little did she know, that the entire kitchen was flooding at this very moment. When she walked back into the kitchen, all the tile, under the fridge, and under the stove were flooded. She found a hose was not reconnected at the back of the washing machine was not reconnected by the plumber! Mind you, my mother is 87 and has NO BUSINESS sopping up a flooded kitchen. After she cleaned it up and called Larry Hudson Plumbing to report the incident, they were very dismissive and said something to the effect of «accidents happen». One of my sisters called and voiced her disgust at this service and attitude and received the same response. This company will no longer receive my mother’s business and I am very shocked at their complete lack of customer service for problems THEY caused.

Kitchen sink and garbage disposal both backed up; not a good situation. I called Larry Hudson plumbing and was fortunate to have Dan come out the same day. He was professional (and funny), quickly diagnosed the problem, and fixed it. He gave me helpful tips on what not to put in a garbage disposal and what is good for the garbage disposal. We have had other companies snake our drains but they didn’t go as far as Dan did. We’re hoping this solves the problem for at least a few more years. They weren’t cheap but the service was great, and I would definitely recommend them.

We scheduled an appointment with Larry for 9:00am this morning (Friday, June 29^th). It is almost 11:00am and Larry has not arrived or returned my voice mail message. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, so I followed up with a phone call at around 9:45am, to see if he was still coming. The call went to his voice mail and has not been returned. This is inconsiderate and unacceptable.

We’ve had Mr Hudson out to our house twice to snake our bathtub drain and then deal with the drainage attached to our clothes washer. Mr Hudson (who is an older, very nice gentleman!) arrives on time to appointments, brings his coworker and gets your drain clean quickly. He’s also very understanding of families who have large, hairy dogs and makes friends with your pets so they don’t bark during the appointment!
