Nice location and quick service. Only issue is that I ordered a tsunami burrito with fries and normally when I eat at the Bonita location, the shrimps are completely visible to my eye because they pack the burrito and spread the shrimp throughout it so you have an even amount of carne asada and shrimp in every bite. However, when looking at my burrito before taking a bite I notice there wasn’t any shrimp popping out. So I take my burrito apart and there was no shrimp at all. I was shy to bug them but I took it back and they brought me another one(thank you) but the dude tried to tell me that my previous one had shrimp and that they only put«5» shrimps in these burritos. No, just stop. Because when you brought me another one, I could see the shrimp. Bye Felicia.

Love love love Lolita’s! They have the best food ever here. Everything is delicious! When I go I always get their California burritos because they are literally perfect. It has meat, cheese, fries, & sour cream. Which to me is the perfect burrito. I also get horchata when I come. The workers are usually pretty nice and you just order and they’ll bring your food out to you. Then you eat and enjoy!

I eat here with co-workers begrudgingly. It’s very close to work. There is only one vegan item, a veggie burrito, and most times it comes to me with the vegetables cold, which I don’t really appreciate. Other than that, it’s okay. Not my favorite Mexican place by far, but it’s okay.

Service: When I entered the restaurant, there was a crowd of people in front of the registers. I had no idea where the line was and no cashier was taking charge or looking up to ask who’s next. Quality: I tried the carne asada fries. Honestly, I was pretty excited. I’ve heard many good things about Lolita’s carne asada fries. The reality of it: it was mediocre. I don’t see anything that great about these fries. I have to admit that compared to other places, the carne asada is lean and tender. But I wish there would have been more fries. Overall: I probably wouldn’t come back to this place. I can get the same if not better quality carne asada fries somewhere closer and more convenient for me.

I’ve been to the Lolita’s in Clairemont but haven’t been to this downtown location. I went in there the other day for lunch. It’s definitely a bit more upscale than the other location. You can hang there for game days. Parking isn’t easy but I guess if you are already downtown it’s walking distance. You order at the cashier and they give you a number and deliver your food to your seat. Their salsa bar has salsa verde and red sauce, limes and radishes. I ordered what I normally order from Lolita’s and that’s their California Burrito. For some reason, the size of the burrito here seems bigger than the one in Clairemont. I ate half of it and saved the other half for dinner. Love that burrito! Best in town.

Heavily disappointed by the California Burrito. It’s all French fries and a little bit of meat. And terribly dry. I wouldn’t go back to this Lolita’s. Waste of $ 7.

The first time I’ve tried Lolita’s was back in 2010 and I dream of their carne asada fries every few weeks or so. I wish they would open a location in LA /OC! Every time someone mentions visiting SD for a weekend, I mention Lolita’s for carne asada fries, its THAT good! I’ve yet to venture out and try their other dishes, but I’m sure its delicious. Maybe I’ll order both carne fries and a california burrito next time. The carne asada is flavorful here and made to order. Other joints have dry, rubbery, flavorless carne asada. No thanks. Don’t forget your limes, red sauce, and green sauce!

Five stars for price point /quality balance. Have walked one block from Lolitas for months and never new it was here. After the other Mexican restaurant off of market and 8th moved didn’t know where to get my carne asada burrito fix — well boom just found it. Chips and guac taste fresh, salsas — like both red and green are yum and have some heat — and burrito is very very good for price point– yes there are better but typically at high end restaurants charging 20 bucks for it — here you will find very good quality at reasonable prices. Ohhh and btw the manager(is so good thought must be owner) is awesome — attentive, knowledgable and friendly. Give it a try — you wont be disappointed!

Stopped by for some quick tacos. Tacos were decent but not tasty enough. Both tacos I had were a little bland but had potential to be better. The food was served quick but the staff was not that friendly to us. My friends enjoyed their meals but it was not what I expected after reading the reviews.

Great San Diego mexican food. The carne asada is what i was missing for 2 years in TX, particularly the cali burrito and fries. Both are as good as you’ll get in this fair city. I will say, the 2 main things holding me back from 5 stars are: 1) lack of prices on their menu online(im always skeptical of places that don’t include these) and 2) slightly expensive breakfast menu(read: bfast burritos).

No one comes to San Diego without having Lolita’s. I’m a fan of their California burritos — who doesn’t love a burrito with French fries in it? This visit, the tsunami burrito did not disappoint. It’s carne asada, grilled shrimp and other yumminess inside. Thanks Lolita’s!

1. This location is so much more better looking and modern compared to the Clairemont Mesa location. There’s a bar and lots of tvs. There was even security outside the doors. 2. Customer service is better! Even on a post Padres game everyone was fast, nice and efficient. 3. Food is not as good as the other location unfortunately and I believe price wise it’s a little more expensive here. Also serves beer which is a huge plus!!! I’m stuck between a 3 and a 4 star review because the food was eh but this place looks very very nice.

I am loving this Lolita’s location! It’s not your typical hole in the wall Mexican fast food place. They have plenty of nice seating and TVs for all you sports fans. Looked like a fun spot to hang out. This is what we ordered: Pollo asado fries(4.5÷5): they give you a huge portion! Very generous with the guac and chicken. I would definitely get this again. 5 chicken rolled tacos with guacamole(3⁄5): unfortunately the chicken was really dry. Thankfully, the guac improved the tacos. I probably wouldn’t get this again though. If I were ever in the area again, I would definitely get their pollo asado fries. I still like the fries from Rigoberto’s more, but this is definitely my second choice.

Carne asada fries, extra crispy! Best place(chain) in San Diego to get carne asada fries hands down! You got guacamole, sour cream, a lot of carne asada, and mainly because they use thinly crispy friesssss! Crispy fries makes a huge difference because you get that extra crunch in your bite. Similar to McDonald quality fries but it’s fresh and even better! The ratio of thin cut fries to meat is 1:1 and not like those thick fries and all you taste is potatoes. Add some lime and red sauce to it, and everything will taste like heaven! Overall, I can always rely on Lolita’s to satisfy my carne asada fries cravings. Everything about it is perfect! I highly recommend this place to locals and non locals.

Compared to the other Mexican restaurants in San Diego, this place is quite lack luster. The service is extremely slow during lunch rush as expected but 30 minutes just for carne asada fries,? C’mon. The food is more tailored to the businesses surrounding it so there will be less grease, smaller portions, and higher prices. If your desperate for Mexican food in downtown, I’m sure there are better places than here.

Came here after my cousin recommended this place. I ordered the chicken chimichanga. I almost got it with rice and beans, but I’m glad I didn’t. This chimichanga was surprisingly big and filling. Took a while to be prepared, but when I got it, it was fried to perfection! The end of the tortilla was left open and it held the sour cream and guacamole and lettuce which I found clever. Inside, the chicken was flavorful and juicy. I added some of the green and red sauces on top from the salsa bar. I preferred the green sauce. Would definitely come here again if I’m in the area! I think the set up could be better. When it gets crowded, it’s hard to get to or from the counter where you order.

Since my Airbnb was so close, Lolita’s at the Park was a no-brainer. A friend and I stopped by to check out our breakfast options at around 8am on a Thursday morning. We went for a chorizo burrito and a special breakfast torta with egg, ham and baked beans. There were maybe three other parties there at the time, and we got our order within 10 minutes of ordering. Service was polite and efficient. The chorizo in the burrito was filling and not too greasy. The egg on the torta was filling and generous. Basically, the food was sincerely filling, deliciously, and we left satisfied. Possibly slightly food-coma’ed, considering it was our first meal of the day. If you go, definitely try the green and red sauces they give you. I’ll be honest, I’m fantasizing about how awesome their food would be with some alcohol in the belly.

I was in downton San Diego for a conference, and we needed Mexican. I Unilocaled to find a place close-ish, and once again, Unilocalers didn’t steer me wrong! Lolita’s is tucked in a corner right across from Petco park, and it was about a 10 – 15 minute walk from the Grand Manchester Hyatt. We had to try the carne asada fries from all the great reviews, and they were delicious. Nicely spiced beef with jack cheese over french fries w guacamole? NOM. They served it with two different salsas — try the verde, it’s herby and perfectly spicy. The large plate is seriously large, but we devoured the whole thing. No regrets. We also had a plate of chips and guac — tasty, but skip these and upgrade to the fries. The fish tacos came two to an order and they were plenty filling. Served battered and lightly fried with a creamy sauce(I’d skip that next time), cabbage and pico. I could barely finish one! Food coma. Water was free, which was nice. The set up is done in a fast casual style, you order at the counter and then a food runner brings you the food. The staff was aloof but polite. I would definitely come back if I was staying downtown again.

I have been to multiple Lolita’s locations – mostly the one in Sunbow. That one is my favorite one, but recently the fries have been soggy and they’ve forgotten to abide by my wishes when it comes to my burrito requests. Yet, I still go. This is the first time I’ve been to this location. It’s close to Petco Park, 7 – 11, and Bean Bar. It’s in a little corner, so it’s somewhat hidden. There is a lot of seating in this establishment, and comfortable seating at that. There’s even a bar inside! My boyfriend and I shared large tsunami fries($ 12) and each got a Mexican coke. I know for sure that the Sunbow and Bonita location don’t offer Mexican coke. The fries were very fulfilling – they didn’t hold back! I love how they actually put A LOT of shrimp, but it didn’t overpower the amount of carne asada. Also, the shrimp was cooked/grilled deliciously. My favorite part, though, was how crispy the fries were… And I didn’t even have to ask(like I do at Sunbow’s, but sometimes they’re still soggy…) The only downside was that it took a really long time to get our food, and it wasn’t even too busy. There were multiple orders after us that got their food before us. Overall, still good.

This place is great. Tsunami fries FTW(carne asada + shrimp) The breakfast burrito was pretty good, but the California Burrito was ONHIT. One of the best, one of the biggest… but definitely not the biggest or best. The Sauces are generic too, I swear that red/green sauce is everywhere. The Service is for sure hit or miss with the staff… We came in at 10:00am, there were 3 chefs, and 1 waitress. Though it isn’t her fault that she was alone, and that she was very frigid in taking our order(after 10 minutes of us standing there… I’d be mad too if I was alone working the entire place), but acknowledgment of a customer so you know that she knows you are there is a big part of me not getting angry myself. EIther way, the food is 4/5, with service 3⁄5. I’d definitely come back here, the place is nice and clean, and the food is decently priced.
