First class service with a smile. Needed a battery replaced. All done in 10 minutes, plus he noticed and repaired a loose link. Most impressed.

Watch went out again. Took it to the other watch repair shop on Cass St. What a difference. He even showed me how London Gate screwed up the repair and could have permanently damaged my watch. Beware, LG is not what it seems!

So I called ahead for a price on a watch battery replacement. Was told 10 dollars on the phone. I show up, the gentleman looks at my watch, a very generic Freestyle surf watch and he tells me it’s 15 now because it’s «special». I get over that, but he then proceeds to try to sell me a Luminox that is clearly marked «$ 300» for $ 1500 saying he was giving me a deal from the original price of $ 2700.
If things aren’t already aggravating, shady and ridiculous enough, I wake up this morning to look at my watch and find that my seconds hand is now broken though the watch still keeps time.
I wouldn’t recommend anybody go here ever based on my unfortunate experience.

This store is great! A Very nice gentleman helped me out. I had purchased, through Amazon a brand new Pulsar Men’s PS9111 Box Set Stainless Steel Watch Set with Stainless Steel and Silicone Interchangeable Bands; The watch didn’t work. From other reviewers my guess was the battery (which Seiko) covers under the warranty. However, I would be stuck with shipping costs, and wait, for who knows how long? ** Thanks to the Unilocal reviewers who led me to London Gate Watchmakers & Jewelers**. Bottom line 10 minutes, 10 bucks and I was on my way with a working watch. And a nice bike ride as well. Customer Service still lives in Pacific Beach!!!

The lovely couple who runs this place are very nice.
I guess they’ve been in PB for decades, but just moved to this location recently.
I’ve never needed to go to a watchmaker, but they made it super easy for me. I had to wait for them to fix someone else’s watch, but it was still no more than 20 minutes and I was out with a re-​sized watch and new battery.
Watch is still a-​tickin’ and fits perfectly. Thanks for your help!

So far I’ve only used them for really basic stuff like battery replacement and removing links but the service is great and I love love their watch and jewelry selection. This would be a good place to find a one of a kind engagement ring or fancy watch. I’m going to bring my husband by here some day and casually point out pretty watches a month or so before Christmas…

Brought a couple watches here, had all of them fixed/​bands replaced within 15 minutes.
However, what I really liked is that my watch needed a new battery, but it’s also got the day of the week, date, and military clock on it — but these guys set those as well. Do you have any idea of how long it would have taken me to do all those??? A lot longer than 15 minutes I can assure you. I wasn’t expecting that at all but sure enough they took care of it.

My Timex is not my «good» watch, but it is the one I wear for work so when the watch band broke, I wanted a new one. I didn’t want to go all fancy, just a simple rubber one like the one that broke. I was in PB and passed this shop so I stopped in. The sales person pulled a plastic bag from under the counter and rummaged through and found one that fit… then he said. «$ 16.99». I thought he was joking… but he wasn’t…I said no thanks and walked out… drove to Target and bought one for $ 4.99 !

I was in San Diego for Christmas and received a watch. I needed it to be sized before it slipped off my wrist. I found this store on Unilocal,this time the Unilocal reviews got it right. I was done in less than 10 mins. for only $ 15. It took me longer to cross Garnet Ave. on foot and find a parking space. Great people. Great prices. I definitely recommend London Gate.

Needed a place to get a simple watch battery replaced on a Fossil watch. This place was quick and very cheap. Big savings over the jewelry stands in the mall. I don’t think he could’ve made more that a few bucks over the price of the battery. Also, the customer service was excellent. I was only getting this simple job done, but it was clear that he cared about the work and giving you what you need.

Michael Cheng seems like a really honest hard working guy. I took a Tag Heuer watch and he fixed it PROPERLY and installed a temporary band, as I am waiting on a replacement band for it.
