Perfect way to start a wonderful weekend in San Diego. Quiet, poolside bar, chill music, no big crowds, just a relaxing little hidden gem in the heart of San Diego. Just walking around and found this place on accident. Glad I did!!!

I’ve been to LoungeSix twice now, and love the laid back though upscale feel of the bar. Both times I’ve been there it’s been no cover, plenty of space, and drinks around $ 10 – 12. I love the fire pits and open air feel. The bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly, and I enjoyed both visits. There is a pool, but I’ve never seen anyone in it… Maybe that is a summertime day-drinking thing. If your looking for a bar without the hassle of a crowded dance floor look here. Note… Looks like I’ve been«checking in» to the wrong place, Jsix instead of LoungeSix I had assumed they were the same.

Super cool pool bar in San Diego. Easy to get to… never too crowded as too many other SD pool bars. Good looking attentive staff and great pitcher selection… the Sangria is amazing and THE Alternative to Mimosas on Sunday Funday. Best of all… you will ALWAYS meet someone new there… super casual and social atmosphere. Before I bought a place with a pool I’d go there all the time… while I love not paying for drinks anymore I do miss this place… maybe I will go again this summer. Great for locals and tourists equally.

A trendy rooftop bar atop the Hotel Solamar boasting a pool, fire pits, and 2 dance floors. I came here with my boyfriend at the time for New Years Eve and we had a blast. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue. We just drank champagne all night, which wasn’t too pricey– $ 7– and we danced the night away on the dance floor. But we also kept warm by the heaters. I do wish they had more seating for non-VIPS and less cabanas. There were a ton of empty cabanas at New Years and a lot of couples lap sitting on the concrete planters. The other rooftop bar I went to, ALTitude, had more chairs and it was much better. But in comparison to all bars in San Diego, this is a great alternative since it is outdoors– more ventilation, less noisy). And I always love the ambience of a rooftop pool bar.

Great rooftop bar! I started at one right around the corner that was too loud and too packed. this one was just right. Very relaxed place to just unwind and have a drink. Firepits. heaters. cool lighting. good music and not too loud. good drinks. and lots of room! I get out to SD once or twice and year and will be putting this place on my list of regular spots! :) I almost missed it but the sign right next to the elevator got my attention. it read«Alcohol is a solution». Naturally I had to investigate further…

Afternoon bartender(Jan 2nd2016) had major attitude, asked him if he could turn on gas heater. His response«Yes if there is gas in them». Seriously guy, lose the attitude we are here to relax and have a good time. You can smoke at the bar if you like cigarettes, smoking cigars on the other hand you can only do this in the elevated patio area. Overall this place has changed over the years and is not what it once was in the past. Two stars for bad service. If they got the right staff in place this place has the potential to be great again.

I went here for their New Year’s eve party and the place is really spacious and classy. The crowd was good. However they had only 3 bartenders to cater to the large group of people that evening and so the service was slow. The DJ was below average. Other than that for a regular hangout this place is pretty good. Drinks were decent and I wouldn’t complain about the prices since this is an upscale place.

Looked up posted hours and they’re supposed to be open till midnight. We get there at 8 and couldn’t find the entrance for starters, then we go into the hotel and the person at the desk was like umm it was so slow they just closed it down. at 8. like why? A tad frustrated because we drove out there just for that after a good experience at the Jsix restaurant. May go back to try it out.

Went here for a Stir event(basically Meetup for ALL single people but small amount of $ to pay). Nice ambiance, a bit tricky to find since from the outside it is actually called Restaurant 6 or something like that. I had 2 drinks. Although pricey at $ 13 each, they were excellent. Bartender wasn’t the friendliest but made damn good drinks. Parked at the Ace Parking lot which is maybe a 2 minute walk away. $ 5 parking after 6PM flat rate. Cheapest parking you will find in Gaslamp aside from getting a meter which I’ve NEVER found. You can park with the lounge/hotel but the parking was very expensive with I believe validation where you still have to pay like $ 10.

This is a review only for the rooftop bar area! You take the elevator up to the roof right after being ID’d at the door. Pros: — Nice view, relaxing vibe — Rooftop pool, though not sure if you’re allowed to swim in it — Free cabanas, perfect for groups! — Friendly staff Cons: — Takes a while to get a drink at the bar This is a great place to come chitchat with a group of friends or take a break while bar/club hopping. It’s not super knock-your-socks off spectacular but definitely a cool place to check out if you’ve never been :)

Was trying to get bottle service at either lounge six or the float. The customer service at lounge six is WAYBETTER than hard rocks float. It took over a week and a half to get a decent response/answer from the hard Rock, and what I did get was minimal, and felt like a shitty text message than from an establishment that takes care of their customers. Lounge six gave me an immediate response from the lovely Kaitlyn Engleman. When I called I was always able to reach her and she easily answered any questions I had. She followed up with an email with everything I needed within minutes. A very professional, yet personalized message according to what I was looking for in detail, with no hidden bs. I will definitely be back to help support her. Thanks Kaitlyn!

Awesome rooftop pool lounge, plenty of seating, cabanas… In the middle of gaslamp district!

I guess I mixed up my reviews for the Lounge & the restaurant. I’ve been to Loungesix several times now and I think it’s a cool rooftop bar. You won’t be able to see the stadium(like Altitude) but you can see the fireworks when they win. Drinks are a bit pricey but that’s downtown for you. There’s plenty space to hangout and there’s no cover, which is a great thing in DTSD. My original review: 10÷13÷13− Great view for Padres fireworks if and when they win… But when they win, the fireworks are soooo close and last about 20 – 30 minutes! It’s a spectacular sight! Place was pretty empty on a Friday night… after 10pm… Drinks were strong and a good starting point for the night, no cover. Nice rooftop bar.

Came here with a few friends for the third time last night. I want to like this place so bad because I do love the rooftop idea for the summer. I was so disappointed last night. Got here around 7:45 to grab a few drinks and a snack before a reservation elsewhere. Ordered drinks and food immediately. The drinks were good, and the price was pretty standard with other bars/restaurants downtown. The food on the other hand took almost an hour to come out(I only ordered chicken wings and fries as a snack). Plus, when they handed me the plate… the food was cold! On a cold night, the last thing you want is cold French fries and chicken wings. Yuck. $ 10 wasted. I will definitely come here again for drinks, but food is a no go for me.

We went here for drinks after a work event. The bottom bar was completely empty. The tables looked cool and had neat décor though. We went up to the poolside bar and the bartender was just ok. He wasn’t very friendly, and was kind of a bar snob when it came to asking about the drinks. Drinks are overpriced and were nothing special, but it is a poolside bar. We hung out there for a while before going elsewhere. I would not go back. I would possibly try out the bottom bar where you enter if I was already in the area.

Cute place with the pool even though when we went, pool was restricted. Beautiful rooftop environment, view was okay but place was very relaxing. Light decorations above made it seem cozy and welcoming. Would still recommend this place to friends, but it didn’t wow me… maybe because I was comparing them to the Dallas and Denver bars.

Was here this past Saturday night. The bartenders were very nice. The ambience was very nice and relaxing. Place looks great, made me feel like I was out of town somewhere else, Calgon Take Me Away! Hehe. Had a glass of the Tempranillo, smooth. Will definitely come back here again for drinks and ambience. :-)

Sucks if you’re a guest staying at the hotel and then there’s an event going on. It can get a little crowded. The pool itself is pretty small. When I was an intern for a local accessories company, i worked an event here. This rooftop lounge is definitely a good place to have special occasions. We were setup as a vendor w/booth. The staff was accommodating. My second time around was for the SD Sausage Fest. The bartender would took a glance with a smile, then decided to help someone else that just got there. He wouldn’t even answer my question. BOO! — I just wanted to know the price of something, so rude. There are a good amount of places to sit, one way up and down with ONE elevator(unless you’re a guest at the hotel) and there is a pretty decent view of downtown from here. It’s not my all time favorite, but a nice place. But 2 stars means«Meh. I’ve experienced better.» and i REALLY have experienced better.

This is definitely my go-to bar when I am out and about downtown with a large group of friends who want to hangout and talk. This place is not only very clean and elegant, but it is also outdoors. This is one of San Diego’s many elegant rooftop bars. While the view isn’t the best in San Diego, the thing that makes this my favorite rooftop bar is that there is usually no cover and there is a lot of space to sit and/or walk around. They have numerous fire pits to sit around and a huge bar that sits over 30 people. The ambiance is pretty nice with a lot of neon and soft lighting. They have decent music always going but it isn’t over powering so conversations can actually occur. The prices there are standard for Downtown San Diego, which means $ 8-$ 20 a drink. The bartenders and staff always seem to be friendly and professional, which is always a plus. And I never seem to have to wait forever for a drink. Just remember you’re on a rooftop so they wont serve you anything glass, so don’t be surprised when they serve you one of those aluminum beer cans. I can’t say anything about the food because this has always been a drinking spot for me. But if you’re lost in downtown and need a good drinking place, just remember jsix and you’ll easily find this spot, which is on the corner of J st and Six st.

What can I say? This place looks similar to Standard, downtown Los Angeles or Perch but the view is not as amazing as DTLA of course. Thanks to Unilocal,we found a place to hang out after everyone else is getting drunk at Gas lamp. :P There were no covers on the Saturday night that we went. Looks nice at night time with their dimmed Christmas lights dangling and such, and their pool lighting up. You’ll see a fire pit area, tall chairs/tables and cabanas to sit in. Those cabanas are dark so… I wouldn’t be surprise if people use it to make out and etc… Yeah you know what I mean. Drinks were over priced. There no no happy hour during the time we went, so their ‘well’ drinks were like $ 8? I mean. $ 6 sounds reasonable to me, then again this place seems like a ‘want to be roof top classy bar’. Everything going to be high up the a… Ugh The crowd is mixed. Friendly people. Not a bad place to bring a date or a group of friends just to hang out and chit chat. Just make sure you pre-game, have a good buzz going on then go. :) Coming back? Still leaning on the maybe.

Wouhaaa !
