I absolutely have to show this place some love because it is a one man operation. That one man has a lot on his plate, but he’s doing it well at Magnetic. It’s a little hard to find because it’s tucked back in an industrial building area, but it’s a cozy spot with some chairs and free peanuts and pretzels on every tabletop. We had the pale ale, which would for sure hit the spot on a warm summer day. It’s also dog friendly!

Great local brew house! Owner is super friendly and beers are good. Just hard to find. Drive off the 163 at Claremont Mesa Blvd and head towards the Ramada. It’s in the business area past the hotels.

The beer was great and the owner was really nice. He talked to us about hops, phở and nature. There were also a lot of magnetic games laying around and I think the owner was making a homemade magnet when we first came in. I had a glass of their pumpkin tart beer(forgot the actual name), you could taste all of the spices listed it was delicious! Will have to come back the next time I’m in San Diego.

Pretty cool little brewery. Quite a few magnets around to mess around with and solid beer. The owner was really nice and explained a lot about his brewing process, other breweries around and which to go to(and which to avoid).

Tried Magnetic out for the first time. It’s a small setup with only a few beers on tap and a handful of seats. The owner is friendly. Overall the beers are not the best i’ve had in SD, hopefully they’ll keep working out the recipes.

This was my favorite brewery to hit up when in San Diego. The vibe is very chill it’s in the back of a area that is very mixed with Animal care, hardware, industrial and an auto shop. Thanks to maps on Unilocal you just follow directions. This place gets a lot of interesting characters so just a heads up. The owner is quite friendly and he just mans the bar area and will answer any questions. He is also the brew master. To cut to the chase(no pun intended) this place centers on tasters and getting their flight of beers. The reason being they specialize is high alcohol beers. If you want to get a good idea of what they do you aint going to survive to have a bunch of pints at this place. There is a board of beers that they have on tap and then to the left of that is beers that are in the making so you can see what you might look forward to in the future. The styles are all very different but they all range in the 7−10% alcohol level but you would never know it. I didn’t write down all the names but here is what I remembered. First was a 10% brown ale that was very good, smooth slightly sweet. There was a 9% wit beer that was very different than I’ve tasted anywhere else. Smooth but also had power and had the typical wit yeast flavors but was not as pronounced probably due to the high alcohol. The Flux was an amber which is the lowest on the alcohol levels but I really liked the maltiness if there is such a word and it was the easiest to sip and come back for more. The Stout was probably my favorite because it was so smooth and the malt and chocolate came through hiding the higher alcohol. The pumpkin was not bad but not my favorite. Still clean and had only a slight pumpkin flavor even though I was told they used canned pumpkin in the recipe. What I like about this place is the tasters go a long way and there is a lot to talk about with different flavors going on in the beers. Anyway this was a great little tasting space and I would definitely recommend you go check it out and bring a designated driver if necessary.

It’s okay. I would recommend other micro brews first. Wasn’t that crowded which I will admit is always good. I can’t remember the various beers I tried and I went to their«modern» 1996 style website to try to look them up… Definitely try the Flux. That was a solid amber ale.

This place is beyond on point. Morgan, the proprietor, was personable, fun and felt immediately like a friend right from the start. I went with the Lodestone Brown, which was an absolute perfect brown. The establishment itself was exceptionally interactive with fun toys and games in the Magnetic theme. Give this place a wack, its worth it!

It’s a one dude operation, which is awesome. I’ve tried many, many beers and I’m a homebrewer myself. This guy rules. Every beer I tried was well above my expectations, not to mention high in abv. There are lots of fun magnet toys to play with and Morgan is a great dude to chat with. This is a top notch brewery. This guy’s beers play with the big boys. I can’t wait to come back. Seriously inspiring beers and a seriously inspiring brewer. Do NOT skip out on this place on your San Diego beer tour.

Great place. Beer is very clean. All of the beer are malt forward style. This as good as a home brewer turned micro brewer as I have seen. It is good to taste well crafted beers that are not over hopped to mask imperfections. The American Brown was my favorite. Eric helped us out. He is very nice and was a excellent host.

Out of the 6 weeks it has been open, I’ve been here twice. My brother has a project in LA and if we decide to come back to SD before Thanksgiving, which is highly likely ;), we will definitely come back here. The owner, bremaster, w/e you would like to call him, is informative, friendly, and kind. Aside from the service, the beer is excellent. At the moment, I don’t remember the names of the beer, but my favorite is the beer mixed with brown sugar and the number 2 on the draft list. Then again all of his beers are great, so tried them all! When you get into the beers, don’t go too hard as the beer are strong! I overheard one woman talking about how she couldn’t believe the beer tasted like 9% abv. Then again, I thought she already gulped gulped her way too stardom, if you know what I mean ;) In the end, this man knows what he’s doing and worth checking out!

Magnetic Brewing is the real deal! Came here for the first time last night with a group of 12 as the first stop of our impromptu tasting tour. We were greeted right away by Morgan. After a quick run down on his brews, I decided to start off with a taster flight of all 5 beers he has right now. All were really good but the ionic ipa really stood out to me. I consider myself a good judge of beer quality, and ionic is a fantastic ipa ! We all had a great time at Magnetic and can’t wait to go back. Thanks Morgan!

This awesome little brewery just opened up, and is now my go to brewery. Morgan is super friendly and very knowledgeable about the beer making process. The five beers he has on tap are all very good, with the Flux and the Weiss Domain being exceptional, IMHO. I highly recommend!

Tiny place where everyone could really know your name. The hospitality and friendliness of this place is pretty much one of the best in the SD brewery market; Think your homebrewer best friend’s garage where you can shoot the breeze with a couple of neighbors. Plus free pretzels and lots of rad magnets to boot! The beers are basic with nothing too wild — stuff a homebrewer puts out, not a big brewery. This place has definite potential and is a relaxing stop along your tour of breweries in the area.

I’m definitely a full time regular! Can’t leave without having a growler full of Flux! I can’t wait to go back! Morgan is the man you go to for any hop knowledge. I don’t normally jump through Micros, I like this one just fine. Morgan makes you feel like Family. Thats all that matters. Quality not quantity! Keep it up Magnetic! –Ron

Brewery just recently opened next to the station where I work as an EMT. After a long day, it feels great to to relax and grab a beer. Feels even better if the beer is amazing as these. There’s even a chalkboard with all the beers that are being brewed, so you can anticipate when the next tap of awesome is ready. The man of the establishment and head brewer, Morgan, is super friendly and will actually talk to you and get to know you. He’s not only super knowledgable in beer and the brewing process, but also about the science behind magnets. The place really lives up to its name and there are magnets scattered around the brewery, some for decoration, others safe for you to play around with. There’s books on brewing and magnets there too, so you can read up on how the beer was made and about the concepts they’re named after. Yes, the beers have super cool magnet-themed names! There’s nuts and pretzels for you to munch on and you get a small discount if you work around the vicinity! Guess you all know where to find me after my shifts now!
