The food here is exceptional but their servers just don’t take their job seriously. It’s really uncomfortable when you have to wait 30 min for some water when it’s 100 degrees outside. The food was amazing but I would never come back after today’s service. As a plus I’m still sitting down waiting as I’m writing this. Disappointed!!!

Everything we ordered was delicious, our meal was given to us quickly despite being extremely busy with customers. The waitresses were attentive and friendly, and there was even live entertainment, which is always a plus! Can’t wait to go back and try more on their menu!

I love this place! I have been here twice already. The chips and salsa were super good. Our food took a bit too long but it was worth it! I ordered the shrimp enchiladas and what I loved is that they actually used real tortillas! Not those yellow hard ones sold here in the states. To acompany my meal I had a michelada with tecate light! Mmmm. Definetly coming back!

As soon as we walked in we were really feeling that authentic vibe. The place looks exactly like any mariscos place you’ll find in Mexico! From the decorations to the music the atmosphere is a perfect fit for their delicious food, it’ll really make you feel like you’re vacationing somewhere along the Gulf of Mexico. Granted, I was with my two Caucasian friends(I’m Mexican) and the waitresses totally ignored them and spoke directly to me and fully in Spanish. I’m sure this was to make things less complicated and had my friends said something or complained at all it probably would’ve stopped. Aside from that, the food was everything I had hoped for. I’m from Sacramento, where it is ridiculously hard to find a good mariscos joint, so being so close to the border of course I had to to have my fix! We all ordered a large Coctel de Camarones to share for starters and a Huachinango Frito to split along with a shrimp plate I don’t recall the name of(but they were wrapped in bacon?). All I can say that will really get my point across is: WOW!!! So, so good. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for authentic mariscos. 10/10, will definitely be back!

Great environment. If you want an authentic mariscos place, this is the place to go. Even the music is in Spanish! Locals spot for sure. Try their michelada beer. Cocktails and aguachile was perfectly prepared. The waitress was super nice and even was singing to the music. She took our order quickly and even joked around for a bit. Will definitely come back

Best mariscos we’ve found. We lived in L.A., where there are so many good places. Here there are about three when I Unilocal mariscos. This is the only good place. Not too expensive. Great ceviche and shrimp/octopus cocktails. Good chips and salsa. Good bottled beer selection. A jukebox with good music. A fun atmosphere. It’s never been too crowded. Waitresses are friendly and great at their jobs, but dress kinda provocatively. That’s the only bad thing, especially when I’m there with my boyfriend. Not a big deal.

Came in and ordered $ 19 aguachiles and was served shrimp with green chopped up peppers. they didn’t put enough lime juice, the shrimp were raw /slimy for at least 20 min. When leaving was given water cups to take my left overs .yes paper cups. with LIDS! SMH Don’t be fooled by the stars this place has terrible service and their mariscos are bland with flavor. You can get better food and service at a food truck.

I had the titanic special and it was really good. The shrimp mixed surprisingly well with the pineapple. A little bit sweet, so if that’s your thing I would order it. Their tacos are good quality as well.

It’s so hard to find good seafood at a taco shop price, but Mariscos does just that. I think I eat here about at least 2 times a week.

Finally made it here & the Michelada was delish! Had it with a Modelo Especial.($ 8.50) I ordered the half lobster with shrimp(15.95) & Husband ordered a Carne chimichanga(I was making fun of him because it’s a seafood restaurant lol) My food was very good! The lobster was fried & the batter on the shrimp was good but I will ask for grilled shrimp next time. The plate also comes with rice, beans, and salad + tortillas. They also give you chips and salsa. Decorated & clean. I saw a jukebox & fish tank there. Can’t wait to go back!

I’ve only been here once and I ordered shrimp enchiladas. The price was fair but the quality and presentation was superb, carefully prepared and appropriate for a barrio diner. It’s in a low income part of town so proceed with caution. The salsa and chips were locally prepared and very flavorful, good authentic quality and taste. This is authentic Mexican food imo. I will return here as there are many menu items worth trying.

The food here is delish! I’m actually here because I love the shrimp cocktail! I had the Filet Mazatlan last time and they delivered it! There’s a green sauce over a fish filet with beans and rice. Sorry, no picture to display… BUT there’s a picture of it on their menu! Try it out! Oh! And their servers are nice too.

This is an excellent place to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner in a clean, inviting atmosphere. It definitely adds a bit of class to a urban City Heights neighborhood that well, gets its share of bad publicity. Seafood obviously is the theme, and the menu is one of the most extensive I’ve seen. Shrimp is king here, with countless entrees prepared Mexican style and even with specific cuisine from Mazatlan, Acapulco and Vera Cruz. But the grilled fillet featuring Marlin in various combos is also amazing. They even have Octopus prepared in garlic or a creamy sauce that friends say is top notch, although I have never been bold enough to try it. El Titanic is on the expensive side, but don’t let that scare you away. There’s a lot of a la carte items you can order even when you just want a snack, like the sweet and spicy fish tacos for only $ 2.50(yes, it’s loaded with shrimp). Sit down, people watch, munch on some chips and salsa, drink a Pacifico or another imported beer, and your wallet won’t suffer much. Service is a bit slow, but friendly and relaxed. And you might want to pay in cash, as they charge $ 1 for credit.

I want to stand on the bow of this cruise ship and enjoy the ride. This is an occasional visit mariscos place for us. We usually share plates and platters family style because they’re pricey and we want to try a little bit of everything. I’ll come back to that later. Mariscos El Titanic is located towards the southern end of Fairmount St near University Ave in the urban oasis of City Heights. Some may not be to keen on the savory parts of town, but it’s not so bad and we’re usually here during lunchtime because there has always been an open table in the afternoon. The place had a bright makeover since our original visit years ago, which is a good thing. Large windows let a lot of sunshine through and provides views of the traffic along the avenue. The décor is a mishmash of aquatic and nautical. Busy yet oceanic delightful. There is also a framed movie poster of the Titanic movie, part of which was filmed at the Fox Baja Studios in Rosarito, Baja California Norte, MX. I’ll highlight some recent dishes. If you like shrimp as much as Bubba Gump, then stick around: — camaron cucaracha. It literally translates to shrimp cockroach. Calm down because the dish is sofa king delicious. If you’ve had the Asian version of salt and pepper shrimp, then you get the general idea. It’s whole fried shrimp with their blend of tasty seasoning, but they fry it up so well that you can eat them whole. Maybe. I don’t grub on the head or tail, but nom nom nom on the rest. It’s a mix of the succulent shrimp and the crispy potato-chip texture of the remaining fried up bits. You can use one of the bottled hot sauces, or either of the fresh salsas, but the seasoned shrimp are enjoyable as they are. — Fuentes de Mariscos. Do not load up on the free chips and salsa. This is a grand seafood buffet on a single party platter. Either bring a healthy appetite and/or a few more people to dig in this amazing display of ocean delights. The menu mentioned clams, but I didn’t notice, nor did I mind. Not a big deal. There’s a lot of food on the plate fit to feed at least 4 people. A few squeezes of limes to brighten the dish and you’re good to go. The oysters on a half shell are tasty. Octopus is sliced, firm, yet fork tender. One of my favorite parts of the dish. Scallops were fresh and clean, but needed a boost from a citrus squeeze and some salsa. Among the slices of red onion, cucumber, and tomato is a fish and shrimp ceviche. Three of us at the table did most of the heavy lifting, but despite our best efforts we could not conquer the platter. Service was friendly and attentive from one waitress that was working because the dining room is mostly empty for lunch. She visited our table often, refilling glasses, clearing empties, bringing extra plates, restocking baskets of tortilla chips and saltine crackers. Other observations: available sidewalk patio, clean bathroom, turned up jukebox playing musica Banda or Norteño, empty fish tank in the back of the room. We ate them all. Before your next visit, be sure to check the website specials for discounts and online coupons. I’m the king of the world!

Great spot. Awesome beer prices. Amazing menu. Tons of options and everything looked and sounded great. Prices seem a little high at first, but wait till the food comes out and you’ll be happy and understand. Very generous portions of fresh seafood. I ordered an agua fresco lemonade and the 7 mares soup. Big ass glass of lemonade, salsa, chips and limes hit the table quickly. Everything’s looking and tasting just right. Soup took awhile, but they just opened up. The soup was chock full of everything. It had mussels, huge clams, octopus, lots of little scallops, marlin, skrimps and good sized prawns staring you down and everything. Very fresh and done right. Wished the broth and tortillas had some more flavor, but definitely not complaining. This is a fresh spot and cool location.
