Fred «Bryan» McKern is an honest, professional and talented general contractor. I was fortunate enough to find Bryan when he came in to repair my roof after a termite fumigation. During the roof repair, Bryan took the time to go through the complete fix with me, showing me how he had corrected not only the initial damage, but other areas that needed fixing from the original builders. He was always there early and worked tirelessly throughout the day to get the work done quickly and professionally with a great eye for detail. The roof repair was only the beginning of our journey, as my wife and I have just purchased a house where the previous owner had let her cats completely demolish the place. We needed about a dozen drywall replacement patches and new doors installed to replace all of the damaged areas.
After seeing his work on the roof, I inquired if he could help us out on our drywall and door repairs, which we also needed to be done quickly. Not only did he respond with a quick turn around time estimate, but also a fantastic price. The drywall repairs were quite tricky, as only part of the affected areas were being replaced and the «patches» would have to match the rest of the textured wall perfectly. Once again, Bryan showed his professional dedication by bringing in a capable team to get the work done on time and on budget. Along the way we found several areas that needed more fixing than we initially thought, and as they came up Bryan made sure to show me what they found and explain what needed to be done to fix it right. I really appreciate his straightforward no «up-​sell» approach to fixing things. Bryan has always explained how things «should» be fixed to get a quality job and is understanding of budgets and timelines and makes realistic recommendations for what needs to be done immediately, and what can wait.
After the work was completed I was blown away by the quality of Bryan’s team’s work! Truly seamless repairs done quickly and within our budget. Bryan really saved us by allowing us to get ready for the painters and not break the bank within a very short few weeks we had allotted. It was a difficult transition, working with all of the coordinated efforts to get the job done right, and Bryan never let us down.
I know that for any future carpentry or other major work that we need done on the house, Bryan will be the first person I call.
