Miller’s Market

I am surprised on the selection within the store. A little pricey but all of convenience. Not only is the store clean, in date products and oddity products (surprising selection) this place even has a kick ass Mariscos food truck parked in the back parking lot daily (and they make some serious civiche! Check it out, well worth it.

I seriously come here only when I’m desperate. So when I do I make sure I check everything. Last time time my husband was here he almost walked out with white regular eggs in a box that said brown organic cage free eggs! So be sure to check your eggs before paying for them. We also had to return some expired items. They made us feel so uncomfortable about it. Please check exp dates. Oh and one last thing when you shop here and bring your own bags the owners walk up to the register as if you’re going to rob them!

Just cooked up the carne asada for the first time and it had so much flavor and was delicious!

I’m a sucker for local delis and I’m happy Miller’s is my go-​to.

Forgot to pack lunch, didn’t you? Yeah, me too. Poor kids of mine, always expecting Momma to take that extra mile (sigh). Anyway, that’s what Miller’s Market is for me. A quick go-​to place when I FORGET TO PACK LUNCH. I’m surprised they’ve been adding more GMO-​GLUTEN FREE and you’re almost eating from the dirt it grows on products. Yes, it’s a town market and yes it’ll be $ 500+ when you decide to do all your grocery shopping here. The staff is kind and helpful. The place is clean and well stocked. Meat department seems pretty good and produce as well. So, head on out to Miller’s Market where you can, shop, do a liquor run, buy a scratcher and get yourself a money order to pay your rent.

Nothing remotely special about this market. The meat and poultry is questionable and stay far, far away from the seafood. Produce department does have some organic and quality produce, but it’s important to sift through the fruits and vegetables to find the highest quality product.
On the plus side, there are consistent deals that are advertised only in the store so it’s worth stopping in, if you are a local resident. They also have Western Union services, and an extensive liquor inventory that ranges in quality and price. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they offered Angostura Bitters.
Hopefully the demand for organic produce will increase and the quality of meat and seafood will increase in standard. Doubtful, so I would definitely try Krisp if you can’t find what you need here. Sometimes it’s worth paying more to have a little peace of mind. You are what you eat!

The people who work at millers are always friendly and kind. It’s convenient and ive never had to wait in line the employees are efficient!!;) it’s nice to have a small business doing well in the neighborhood! they have money orders as well which is very convenient.;)

The selection is a bit limited but there’s some good stuff here! They have lots of cold brew, a few different kinds of kombucha and almost every flavor of Yerba Mate.
Better yet, it’s just a few blocks away so it’s convenient for whenever we run out of something need to make a mad dash to the store.
(Pro-​tip: Skip the Mariscos truck outside and head to the one on Grape instead.)

This is a great place to buy the inexpensive fresh produces. I came here because of the Mexican sea food truck in the parking lot.
I got myself onions, chips, celery, carrots, and squash. Total us $ 12. Unbelievable price. I will come back again soon.

Millers millers Millers! (That’s me chanting!). I love this place. We go to this market for groceries all the time. The groceries are rarely cheap and fresh! The store is super easy to navigate through and that always makes a quick shopping trip efficient and simple!!!
I love that they have the garlic cholula! I can’t find this anywhere else!!! We love buying cheese and veggies from here also… Ooooo and the tortillas are so authentic and delicious!
We came here a few nights ago… And the store had closed a few minutes early. The owner nicely opened the door door for us to come Into the store to get a bottle of wine! Thanks!!!

For a small store, I can usually find everything I need for a recipe. It’s a little more expensive than large chains but perfect for picking up anything you forgot in between large grocery runs. The produce is fresh, the meat is good quality. The store is kept impeccably clean and organized. Staff is friendly. Also, they accept American Express.

Miller’s is AWESOME!!! I am there like 2 or 3 times a day lol .They have everything you need from yummy veggies to great tasty meat and a variety of alcohol. Also the staff is extremely friendly and I love visiting the store :) I would give 6 stars but there is only 5 …

The markets has everything to need. Is like an small walmart, from food, meat to cleaning things you need. If you live close is a great place to go and get some things you are craving or need.

I went in to Millers to get some cheddar cheese. I asked the deli person could I have a half pound of cheddar cheese. He gives me a block of cheddar cheese. Who buys a block of cheddar cheese I wanted it for sandwiches. I took it back and they could care less my money means nothing to them. I won’t shop there again. Ever. The management in Millers market sucks. And so does the meat and deli person. Why would you assume a person wants a block of cheese, I’m a man. I’m 60 years old what am I going to do with a block of cheese, a half pound block. Give me a break the guy was stupid lazy and I’m pissed. This was on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. February 19^th. What really kicks me in the butt, is the fact that they didn’t even offer to slice it when I brought the block back. These fucking middle easterners could not give a shit. And their attitudes showed it. They should not even be running that supermarket.

They have pretty good variety considering this is a small neighborhood market with somewhat limited space. The prices are okay for smaller grocery runs between our regular runs to the bigger chain grocery stores. It’s an older building, but seems to be kept pretty clean. Usually decent prices for staples like milk and okay quality for ground beef.
That much would normally get them 3 stars, but the friendliness of the employees, from the meat counter to the cashiers, gets them a 4^th star.

Everyone who works here is awesome and welcoming, from the meat counter staff to the check out ladies.
The carne asada is so good it’s ridiculous, and the salsa, fresh tortillas and queso are great too. Always a great place to get whatever I need when I visit my daughter.

I wish I could give them negative stars… I walked in there with my buddy at 8:40 (Saturday, ⁹⁄₁₂) for beer and tortillas (closes at 9). We were told we had 30 seconds to shop from 8:40 on. We were told to hurry while making our selection and the man working by the door through the service window told us to hurry up because he had a wedding to be at in 20 minutes… Sorry dude, but it’s not my problem that you didn’t plan ahead, your shop was still open when we arrived and when we entered the cashier’a line at 8:45. I even tried to apologize for showing up late twice but was met with no reciprocation of respect because you wanted to treat us as people holding you up and not as loyal customers of millers market for 2 years now. To the two ladies working the check stands tonight, I was surprised. One of you had always been so nice to my friends and I. But, this time wouldn’t even acknowledge that we were apologetic towards the fact that you wanted to close early. Which in my humble opinion, as a customer service oriented employee for 11 years now doesn’t mean you are warranted being a pushy jerk with your customers when some when walks in to buy two items twenty minutes before closing and only took five minutes to decide. Very poor customer service. Worst shopping experience of my life and it was only a 5 minute affair. Would’ve always given this business props, but you had to be rude to us.
P. S. We overheard one of the girls saying, «we could get fired over this shit.»

Ive been coming here for the past 5 months and all I can say is the only reason I like it is because when I forget something at the grocery store I usually walk down here to grab it. The prices are high bit that’s how it usually is at a neighborhood grocery market. Although, the produce is surprisingly affordable (not saying it’s always fresh).
I went down there to get some carne asada to cook for lunch today and it was priced like it is when it’s fresh. I noticed that most of the meat was very brown and looked very old. I was honestly going to see if the man was actually going to give the smelly brown meat to me. I understand if they had it on special because it’s getting old but no, it was at regular price. I put a picture of it up so you can see. Would not recommend the meat i’ve gotten sick here from their marinated chicken before.

As a neighborhood market goes, it’s a great place to grab sodas, chips and those paper cupcake wrappers you forgot. However, be prepared to pay more than a chain grocery store. AND, their sandwich bread and bagged salads almost always expire today.
Good in a pinch, but that’s about it.

I lived a couple of blocks from here around 1999 – 2002. Right around the time I moved in, there was an incident involving a guy shooting a cop right around here, which had helicopters flying overhead, and squad cars and the whole bit.
Then, a year or two after that, a cute little flea-​bitten stray dog followed me home from here, and we ended up fostering it for a few months until our landlords made us get rid of it. :(
In between the two incidents, I would stop by Miller’s Market occasionally for stuff like beer or carne asada and whatnot. They kept the liquor in a locked cabinet behind the counter, along with rolling papers and stuff of that sort. It seemed as though around half of the people in the store at any given moment spoke Spanish only.
Back then, the house I rented at 29^th and Broadway was $ 750/​month, and I could split it with a friend of mine on my meager tele-​survey wages, because it had two bedrooms. We might’ve been hesitant to walk down the alley to the market at night, but we would just get liquored up a bit and get to it as quickly as we could.
Anyhow, I understand the rents in this neighborhood have gone up quite a bit since then, and the neighborhood demographics had changed a bit, so I figured that Miller’s would have turned into some kind of boutique artisanal farmer’s bistro or something like that by now. But I guess it’s still plain old Miller’s Market.
Imagine that.

Went here last night to get silver polish. After the owner/​manager checked the aisle and saw that he didn’t have any he offered to call Gala Foods for me. When I got to Gala Foods, the silver polish was already pulled from the shelf and on hand at the customer service desk. I love customer service like this!
