Unlike the older Mira Mesa«mall» across the street, this shopping center is newer considering its tenants and being anchored by Target. The parking is plentiful except when you’re in front of Target, but that shouldn’t be an issue. I tend to find myself frequenting the Smart Final since it’s the poor man’s Costco and far more accessible and with more agreeable bulk sizes. Like the mall across the street, it’s again all locals which is nice.

Its not the fault of the Mira Mesa Shopping Center that people who live in Mira Mesa cant drive. But it IS there fault that all these people who cant drive are stuck in their stupid parking lot. Where there should be stop signs, nope. Where it is so dumb to have a stop sign, bet money on one being there. It took me 15 minutes to get out of the parking lot because all the non-driving mira mesa morons insist at stoping where they would *think* a stop sign would be, screwing it all up for those of us stuck behind a real stop sign. After redoing the Target, these guys should seriously sit down with the overhead blue prints and then drive through it on a weekend. I have a feeling if they did this, half those dumbass stop signs would go away and more, logically placed, stop signs appear. Until then, going to Target is painful. Bummer.

This mall now has a newly renovated Target and new Hometown Buffet. I also enjoy Souplantation and El Torito. This mall needs new stores to keep it young and fresh. Parking lots are always half empty here.

Probably the second oldest mall in Mira Mesa, the Mira Mesa Shopping Center has more overall selections than the Mira Mesa Mall does. I remember when Gemco was the only location that was open here, and the whole area was just an open bluff. Today, Target, Vinh Hung, and Babies R Us are the biggest draws here, as well as the numerous restaurants. The main problem here is the parking, or rather, lack of. Because of the popularity of this mall, parking on the weekdays is mostly doable. But, on weeknights, weekends, and especially the Christmas season, expect to park a good 3 – 4 minutes away from where you expect to do your shopping or dining out.
