Moby Dick’s Bar

It’s located out of the way, they don’t serve food, and there’s hardly anyone here ever — It’s perfect if you want to come with friends, sit, have no one crowding your space, and do some serious drinking/​talking amongst yourselves. (And unlike the former poster, I’ve found it open on various weeknights).
Next to their pool table, there’s an outside smoking area. If you go up the stairs to your direct left, there’s a large upstairs open air patio, with a view of the city & flight path. Good place to sit & drink a minipitcher of beer.

I struggled with this place for a long time. There were issues with the ownership and it was hard to figure out what night’s it was open. It was always hit and miss. But I never gave up, it was in stumbling distance form my house and I was determined to solve this mystery. Alas, my night came! I found out it was only open Monday and Friday nights and the majority of it’s clientele belonged to a billiards league and would practice there. What a waist! The building is incredible. Two pool tables three bars (half the building was never opened) and a giant patio upstairs in the back. My boyfriend and I are determined to buy this place some day. It is also a hotel, which they don’t use. But I swear this place is haunted. It’s the kind of place where you could have a conversation with someone all night and then find out they have been dead for 20 years. It has a pretty good gay following which brought a little life to the place every once in a while but for the most part the potential was not being fulfilled.
It’s under new ownership now but I think it is still only open on the weekends, but from what I hear they are planning on spiffing it up and keeping it open every night. So hopefully it will make itself known to the world! I love you Moby Dick’s!
