Ehh this place is conveniently located with really nice/friendly staff, but it’s kind of a rip off. I like supporting small places like this rather than the Home Depots of the world. The buying experience was great! As soon as we walked up with our dog, a very nice guy took us around and helped us find a great tree. The whole thing took 10 minutes and we were able to park 10 feet from where they trees are located. Paying, however, was another story. I thought the San Diego Tribune deal($ 35 for $ 70) meant you walk in, give them your voucher and get a tree. Instead it means you get $ 70 toward the purchase of a tree. All of the good trees are $ 80 or even $ 90+ bucks. So you pay $ 35 for the voucher and then need to shell out another $ 15, $ 20 or $ 30, depending on the type of tree you choose. They also tax you on the full amount. We paid about $ 50($ 35 voucher plus $ 13) for a 6″ grand fir. Overall, it’s not a bad option if you want to avoid a big box store, but even with a groupon-type voucher, it’s not really a «deal.»

Went to the Bankers Hill location with our groupon and what kind of deal is it when the tree costs over $ 100AFTER the groupon?! Not to mention the fact that after two days of proper care the needles are already turning brown! Now I have to pay for the over priced tree food to keep my tree alive through Christmas. Wise up and get a fake tree.

This is the 2nd year I bought a tree here. Both years I had a Groupon, and thanks to that, have been very happy with my tree. Friendly service, Large variety of trees, fresh cut, trimmed to your liking, and loaded for you in your car. Support small businesses :)

Truly unfortunate experience here this morning. I had bought the Living Social deal($ 25 for $ 50 worth of 5−7ft trees). Seemed like a steal as we usually buy a 6 footer for our apartment. Staff brought it over and when it was rung up — $ 78! WHAT? for a 6 foot tree? Girl said $ 13/ft for Noble Fir. Its a rip off. Oh, and if you’d like them to feed it through the tie up machine for the ride home, yeah, that will be another $ 20. You’ve got to be kidding. We’ve bought the same tree at Home Depot for $ 45, tied up and out the door. And after the guy loaded it into the car, which took 3 seconds, he put his hand out for a tip. Sorry sir, your tip is included in the inflated price I just paid for the tree. Save yourself the money and hit Home Depot.

Mr. Jingles brings the spirit of Christmas to Banker’s Hill. I seriously want to give each one of those guys a hug right now! They set up a basic lot on 5th Ave. with a great selection of Christmas trees: 3 footers for the beginners to 10+ feet for the double-black diamond folks. They have Douglas, Noble, Nordmann and Fraser firs for those that are particular about their holiday greenery. You walk through the lot, choose your tree, and they come on over to pretty it up for you(even out the bottom, attach your stand, etc.). They will even wrap it up and hoist it up on your car for the drive home! Efficient, friendly, honest and good people. If you haven’t yet, pick up a bit of holiday spirit with Mr. Jingles!
