This place is what it is. In hindsight, you know what you’re getting before you walk in. Wound up over here after having dinner at the Hive. I can’t tell you how disgusting it is to walk into a place with cig smoke constantly wafting in after you’ve just eaten. Not sure how legal the situation is to be honest. There were a group of people sitting outside but at a bar area attached to and facing into the restaurant. They were chain-smoking and eating at the same time. Fucking gross. I intended on staying long enough for a drink but changed my mind because I didn’t want to go home smelling like dog shit. I can’t write an informed opinion about the service staff because I barely spoke to the bartender, but there are too many other bars in East Village to bother with this one again. From one former restaurant manager to another, please clean up your act for a boost in types of clientele and therefore more profit. Dirty, white 20-somethings is not going to pay your bills.

This place is really cute. They also have a great happy hour that starts at 10pm. Bobbi is the bartender and she is really awesome. They have a juke box so you get to control the music if you so choose. It’s also walking distance from El D!

This is a cool little local cocktail bar located near City college attached to a sushi lounge. Atmospere is cool and laid back. The drink menu is pretty cool with a nice assortment of cocktails. I ordered my drinks for next door with my sushi and they were good. My vodka mule and manhatten were good and not watered down. Not sure how good their selection of alcohol or ability to make requested drinks is. Maybe next time to check it out.

Bobbi and the rest of the staff here are amazing. Check out the deals on dine in sushi every Sunday, woah. And if you’ve never eaten here, the hot mess is phenomenal.

I don’t often write many reviews, but when I do it’s because I was impressed and actually want to give props where props are are due! I had a long flight in from the east coast and got in around 8:30pm. A close friend picked me up from the airport and told her I wanted to grab a drink to decompress and grab some food. She suggested a fairly new place on the way home and we ended up at the Nectar Room. We sat down, and a super cute and friendly bar tender named Melissa, guided us through the menu and drink list, and can honestly tell you it was an awesome/relaxing experience after being stuck in the cold and snow for 10 days. Awesome sushi and appetizers(bacon wrapped scallops!) and killer drinks. Totally awesome for a date or low key night with a lady and juke box. Place rules! I’ll be back and hopefully get to thank Melissa for treating us so good the first round!!! –Christopher

I live so close to this place, I literally have to walk past it to get anywhere else in the neighborhood. But I avoid The Hive unless I somehow don’t have the energy to go farther than 100 feet to eat sushi, which is extremely rarely. That’s because the place is just sketch. The sushi is only okay, and the atmosphere of the place makes you wonder if you’re going to end the evening hugging the toilet. So, after walking past this place dozens of times after it opened, and being entreated a few times by staff sitting outside the place, we recently got lazy enough to give the new Nectar Room a chance. First of all, even though it hasn’t been open long, the Nectar Room is still tainted with the same kiss of death as The Hive. Don’t get me wrong, it has potential. The drink menu is nice, the prices are good, and my husband’s hot dog was delicious, according to him. But the employees ruin this place, and they will be the reason why this restaurant will eventually go broke if the owners don’t wise up and clean house. 1. Lack of professionalism. The employees are constantly in the public dining areas and patio, smoking on break, after shift, DURING shift. Not just one or two, either. I’ve walked past and it seemed like the entire shift was sitting outside, shooting the shit. Here’s an idea: how about CLEANING something, especially in The Hive. Then maybe it won’t look like food poisoning waiting to happen. 2. Poor customer service. Since the employees treat the entire restaurant like their personal break room, one does get the vibe that one’s actual, paying patronage is an imposition. Like you’re interrupting their conversation with their buddies with your drink order. 3. Poor training. The bartender was on break when we went there, and the girl covering the bar for her clearly did not know how to make all the drinks. One turned out fine, and one turned out to be an undrinkable perversion missing half the listed ingredients. Note to her: if anyone lets you behind a bar again, please remember that grenadine is not a suitable substitute for strawberry. But if you don’t know how to make something, ask for the proper recipe. Not just wing it and waste my money and time.(The regular bartender graciously insisted on remaking it and saved this review from being one star.) All in all, I wish this place was even a little better, because if it was, I would be here often. But as it is, I will walk past it to go literally anywhere else and pay more so I can get good food and decent service. The restaurant game in East Village is way too competitive to excuse the above issues. Step your game up, Nectar Room. Quit lounging around outside like an episode of Bar Rescue, and act like you work there for a reason. Have a little pride. Maybe then you will actually keep customers.

Very cool little spot. The décor was really pretty and inviting. I also liked the cocktail choices they have on their menu, which is conveniently located on the wall. All the flavors sound on point to which alcohol you’re in the mood for. Service was friendly.

I had a great time here, I especially liked the Bar Menu, it has Ahi Tuna Sliders, and Nectar Wings with 2 different sauces, Bacon wraped Hot Dogs with a nice sauce, Bacon wrapped shrimp, Beer battered fish or shrimp, Won ton Chips with sauce, Japanese seasoned fries, a few other items. I had the Nectar wings and they were delicious, with light breading and sesame seeds the sauces were wonderful, I also had the bacon wrapped shrimp they were delicious. The Juke box is a nice touch I played all my favorite songs, the bar has a real nice vibe I met a lot of nice people here. The Bartender was very friendly and attentive. There is some seating outside so you can bring your dog. The craft beer was very good, all around great place, great atmosphere and great service I will be a regular for sure!

Went to the Nectar Room right when they first opened. I really do not go downtown much but i seen them on Facebook. Went and had a few drinks i love Macallan 12 yr and since they just opened i was able to crack that bottle. Very good service Joann was my bartender and i also had two orders of the wings. one for there and one to go. Would put this place on my Bar list when i do go out
