Best, moistest falafel I’ve ever had. Ordered the falafel sandwich and I was very surprised by how delicious it was. Also, their beer selection is excellent. I would definitely recommend it to friends.

I used to like this place and would come multiple time a month but lately its been terrible. The amount of homeless people inside and out has gone up and they really entertain it. They have also gotten more expensive, have worse attitudes, and the quality of the food has gone down significantly. On top of that theyre running ghetto burger kind type of stuff for their sauces, 50 cent for an extra cucumber sauce after i spent $ 20HA. yea done with this place.

Stone Delicious IPA for $ 3 on happy hour why I enjoy«Greek» tacos and a window seat to view the active local flora and fauna? Priceless.(Ignore the dreadlocked«hippy» homeless — I used to be one of them too… Apologies for my(maybe selfish?) fraud(?).

OB Kabob has super good food, super good beer and totally reasonable prices. Sal(Saul?) the owner is super cool, as well. I usually go gyro plate, sub baba ghanoush for hummus. A mixed plate is also a good idea because you get any 2 choices of meat(salmon not included). I don’t think I’ve said super enough. Super, super super. Oh, I’ve realized the gyro meat can vary. I prefer it on the crispy side, meaning I probably need to try and avoid getting it unless it’s been spinning, untouched for a while… just thinking out loud.

Not an outstanding experience overall, but some of the food was good, very good actually. We ate from here because they were open on Thanksgiving. As I was trying to decide what to order, I politely asked my friend if he knew specifically, what country their style of cooking was from. The owner interrupted me that I should ask him, but then we’re not answer the question. As I have spent a reasonable amount of time in Mediterranean countries and enjoy the cuisine but notice differences which buried by region, I think the question was legitimate, certainly not intrusive. Anyway, the owner recommended kofte and gyro. The kofte was excellent, The gyro was pretty bland and lacked salt. The Rice was oily for my taste, the tzatziki(normally one of my favorite items) did nothing for me and I didn’t finish it. The hummus, however, was excellent. The bread was not appetizing at all, I’ve had better from the grocery store. The tabouli which we paid for, was not received, and we didn’t notice until we got home and the restaurant was closed. The prices, of course were a little high for that type of food, but it’s not their fault as they are paying for the location and so are we. The fact that the owner repeatedly told me how outstanding their food was(and some of the meat was very good as was the hummus), and the fact that they charged us for a dish that they didn’t provide, left me underwhelmed. Probably wouldn’t eat there again, maybe only if once again everything else were closed. Overall I’m grateful that they were open and that some of the food was really enjoyable.

We came across this restaurant after eating at a nearby place and decided that kabobs sounded good for our next Greek craving fix. This place was pretty good. Nothing stood out, but overall good Greek cuisine. We ordered the Beef Gyro Plate and the Chicken Kabob Plate. Both came with a salad and some rice. We weren’t impressed with the rice as we found it to be a bit hard and bland. The tzatziki sauce was a bit more runny than other Greek food places, but it was still good nonetheless. The main entrées were pretty tasty. One thing that we really liked about this place were the portions. They don’t skimp out on the combo plates and it was surely enough to satisfy our appetites. If there was one thing that we would complain about, it would have to be the amount of flies that are able to get into the restaurant. Granted, this is right by the beach so what could you expect when there are large open windows to let in the nice ocean breeze. Don’t get us wrong, the place wasn’t dirty or anything, but there were quite a few flies that we had to keep swating away and distracted us from our meals. After all that’s said and done, we would come back. But, maybe we’ll just order to go.

OB Kabob is located at Newport Avenue. Offers Great Mediterranean food! Family owned and operated(they are very friendly) with open kitchen where you can watch prep. My favorites were Kufta Kabob(Ground beef mixed with onions, parsley, and seven spices. Served with basmati rice, hummus, tomatoes, salad, and pita bread) and Shish Kabob Mix(Three skewers of chicken, kufta and beef kabob served with basmati rice, garlic sauce, hummus, salad, and pita bread). Everything was tasty and delicious. Best of all is their homemade hummus and baklava!

I ordered the chicken kabob plate. The chicken was delicious. Everything else that came with it was average or below average.

This place is just okay. I wasn’t wow-ed. I did love the 3 dollar sculpin. I decided to get the 2 for 5 dollars Greek taco deal, which is offered every Tuesday and Thursday with your choice of chicken or gyro. The tacos were okay but very tiny. Even at 5 dollars I personally think it was too much for what you got. Would have been upset if I payed anymore than that. Probably won’t come back unless I wanted to grab a beer.

We ate at OB Kabob today while looking for a place for lunch. I ordered the chicken kabob plate. The chicken, rice, pita bread, salad, and hummus were delish. The food was plentiful and tasty. The service was excellent and I would definitely eat there again when I come backto Ocean Beach.

I ordered the gyro plate to go and gyro was tasteless and tasted like cheap meat. If a kebab restaurant can’t even do the meat right, forget it. If I could I would give it no star at all. Very disappointing

Food was absolutely delicious. Try the hummus and schwarma. The hummus was off the hook! Love the fact that they deliver especially if you’re having a lazy day nursing a hangover. I will definitely be ordering from here again.

I absolutely love this place! When I am in the mood for Greek food, this is my go to place. They have a friendly staff and the food is absolutely yummy. Drinks are reasonably priced, course not the best deals in Newport, but will certainly quench your thirst. I especially love the presentation of their platers! They have certainly stepped up their game since when they first opened.

I don’t know what took me so long to try this place considering I live right around the corner. I had heard some bad reviews when they first opened and I guess that kept me away. Glad I finally went in and tried their Chicken Schwarma Wrap. Pretty damn good, and even better when I took a second one home a week later and added my garlic spread to it. I need to try their garlic sauce(I assume they have one?) and some of their combo platters. Anyway, can’t beat that yumminess for only $ 5!
