My friends and I were craving phở so we decided to come here and check it out. It was close by and convenient because it was raining. When we got there the place was full. No one greeted us so it made us question whether we sit ourselves down or if we went up to the small desk counter. My friends and I felt a little dumb just standing there. We were shortly seated after that. Good variety. Good pricing. Decent size place. Plenty of parking. Clean from my perspective! Only reason I gave it a 4 was because of the customer service. I understand that it was busy but there is a thing called proper etiquette. Like letting us know we will seated shortly instead of staring at us and waiting for us to say something or not being rude. I mean I understand poor girl was swamped! You can see it on her face she was stressed. She was the only one there but come on now, there are ways to sound less rude. I mean overall it was a good place and I will probably come back, give it a second chance but I know my friends won’t because of the customer service. Customer service is key!

have been here twice in the last couple months for lunch with my in-laws. They each got a steak and chicken mixed noodle stirfry dish. Good flavor decent portion they liked the taste as well. I have had the five here multiple times. The broth is of a above average quality. Pretty standard. I like how it is a clean restaurant. Not messy and dingy like some.

Delicious, fast, fresh, comfortable seating, good location, normal waitressing but some good phở for when you are craving some. I will be going back for more.

I was in phở hut for the first time today. Their food is so delicious and fresh. I try their egg rolls and rare steak phở is the best in town. The broth is amazing, it seem like they put all the effort in it, even the staffs too. Good atmosphere and welcoming. I highly recommend it.

Their phở is so good. Spring rolls are good too. Servers are ok though. Nothing bad but they dont put an effort into welcoming you. Been there at least 6 times and its always the same. Their salsa game is strong! :D i love me some spicy food

Walked in to a great interior for a phở spot. Kind of modern minimalism with the perfect breathing space. The menu looked good and the service was very good. Had to go with the bun bo hue, egg rolls and ice tea. Ice tea is very good served in a large mason jar mug. Egg rolls come out hot. Average egg rolls that are a little more greasy than the norm, but fulfills your craving. Bun bo hue comes out looking interesting. The broth is lighter than most with some red spots in it. A little bland, but they do bring out their homemade chili to spice it up. The herb plate was a little light on the herbs. Noodles were a little soggy. I don’t know if they don’t include the pork blood, ox tail, and cartilage or if they just decided to remove it since I’m a white guy? The bun bo hue is below average for SD with or without the good stuff. I’m betting their phở is much better. Nice place for the area. Next time I’m in the area I’ll stop in to try their phở and garlic wings. The interior is the big plus for this place. Hopefully the next trip, the phở and wings will over shadow the interior.

Food was really good, really good. Spent the entire next day with either a stomach flu or food poisoning. That hasn’t been fun, but I enjoyed the food when it was going in :)

Craving something hearty and soupy and ended up here for lunch… Good choice! It was fast, friendly, and Phở was decent. They had plenty of entrée options, including vegetarian, but I went with a small bowl seafood phở(vs large size). It hit the spot. Shrimps were medium sized, and fish balls were small, but it was overall satisfying. Clean place, seems like a mom and pop type setup. Service was good, friendly waiters and waitresses. Service was fast. Not a ton of restaurants in that area, ESP Vietnamese food, so this was a pretty decent option. Prices are fair. Parking is plenty… Located in bigger shopping center next to AT&T. I wouldn’t make it a trip out here for a meal, but I’ll def be back for lunch break from work!

This will be my new go-to Phở location! Their fried Tofu appetizer is ONPOINT! Follow it up with a hot bowl of #1 Phở.

Went here yet again for bun xiao. It was good! I got it without bean sprouts bc last time they gave me way too much bean sprouts. I like it because it’s not too oily and comes with vegetables so I feel good eating it. They didn’t give me enough vegetables so I asked for more and they gave me some. Usually restaurants aren’t good at making it but this place I was impressed. The lemongrass chicken was okay, I think they over cooked it and the rice was okay as well. Come here for the bun xiao! I eat this at home so I’ve had pretty good bun xiao, I wouldn’t say this is the best but for a restaurant I would keep coming back for it! This place is clean unlike normal Asian restaurants, the water, idk what it was but it just tasted fresh and clean with lime in it but not too much lime that it was overbearing. Service was friendly and nice.

I have a few Phở spots. This is my #1 I get the PTDACBIETXELUA. Sooo delicious. The meat is perfect. The tripe is always fresh and the tendon is the best tendon i’ve had in a soup anywhere in the county. Price is right too!

Every time I eat here it’s amazing! I always order the filet mignon phở! Their beef broth is the best!

I tried: 1. Chicken Phở(Phở Gà) — boyfriend got it 2. Spicy Noodle Soup(Bún Bò Hue) Bún Bò Hue was so bad. It was so tasteless, not spicy, and the cuts of meat were wrong. Authentic BBH will have congealed pork blood(sounds gross but really, it’s so good!), oxtail, pork leg… All I got was a few pieces of brisket and some Viet ham. –_____– Come on. The soup wasn’t gross, but it just didn’t taste authentic! No spice. It was like they put the Phở base soup and added some other stuff to it. Should have known because good, authentic BBH usually comes from specialized Viet restaurants that serve it because it’s a pain and expensive to prep and make. Usually, I don’t order BBH at Phở restaurants but the waiter said it was good so I got it… Disappointed. /: Phở Chicken was tasteless. My boyfriend needed a lot of fish sauce to get the taste alright. The ratio of noodle and meat was ridiculous too… So much noodle for not a lot of meat! Two stars for friendly staff and nice restaurant décor. The inside was cute. The restrooms were clean. The jars they use to serve water were super cute too.

We live very close to Phở Hut and very happy to see a Vietnamese restaurant open so close by. We’ve ordered takeout several times the last few months and everything we’ve ordered have been really good. The phở is always packaged thoughtfully to prevent any spills. Our favorite go-to dish is the vermicelli with various combinations of our favorite meats. I usually get it with egg rolls and pork or beef. The portions are very reasonable and large for the price. We will have to eat here one night because the people who work here are really friendly and always make me feel welcome, even when I’m waiting for my takeout. It’s definitely family friendly. A few side notes: No loud awkward music and there is a tv for people who come to watch sports. Don’t expect craft beer or anything too trendy. They keep it simple. And don’t be a douche and ask them if they put MSG in their food AFTER you ordered like I overheard a lady ask the server. If you have a legitimate sensitivity, you ask before ordering. also, to the guy a few reviews ago complaining about plastic chopsticks at the restaurant over wooden disposable chopsticks. [some] Asian families use plastic chopsticks in their homes! We don’t use disposable wooden splintery chopsticks. **Edited due to a Unilocaler who was personally offended by my mention of Asians using plastic chopsticks because he doesn’t, and had to message me about it. Sorry little dude. Hope this updated review makes you less angry.

I love Vietnamese food — in fact — most of my reviews are on how I love Vietnamese food. Phở Hut is an ‘Americanized’ version of Vietnamese food — without the ‘Fear Factor’ food choices at a traditional Vietnamese Phở restaurant(y’know, the place that has the slug thing swimming in the black water tank for a $ 1.50…) I love Vietnamese food… problem is, only I like Vietnamese food and forced to eat my tendon and tripe alone… and in shame. NOMORE! Phở Hut has crossed the Convoy street barrier and serves Phở in Clairemont — and it is tasty! In fact — THIS is where I would bring folks in that have never tried Phở before. I think another reviewer said that as well. The Phở broth was very tasty and not too fatty — the spices are not overpowering — just pleasant and fresh. And the service was excellent! Most traditional Vietnamese Phở joints you are lucky to get a smile, but my waiter, Johnny was great! Recommended a few things that I’ll have when I come back… with friends!

I’ll start by saying I didn’t have phở. Was near the area for the night and wanted a banh mi sandwich. Ordered the BBQ pork plus the egg rolls based on reviews. Egg rolls were ok, but I don’t eat fried items often so perhaps I was not objective. The sandwich was good. Bread was fresh, jalapeño had a kick. Place was empty, but football was on. Hostesses were fine. Place does not accept American Express.

I must have driven by this place maybe a thousand times, it doesn’t look like much which is perhaps why I had never tried it but I was extremely surprised to find that it was actually really nice. It’s not all that big but it’s got a kinda foresty look to it and everything in this place looked completely brand new. The service was on point and extremely attentive and everything came out fast and extremely hot. Overall it was a bomb meal that hit the spot and didn’t break the bank… I will definitely be back for some more phở. Don’t let outside stop you from giving this place a try.

We were in the area buying something off Craigslist and did a quick search for something for dinner and Phở Hut came up with 4 stars. We gave it a go and was so glad we did. It’s a small, clean and newer looking restaurant. Nothing fancy but nice. The servers were friendly, knowledgeable and able to answer questions about the menu. Our food arrived quickly and was quite tasty. My wife got her standard, the rare beef(on the side) phở while I switched it up and went for the bun vermicelli noodles with the eggrolls on top. It was hot, fresh, a good portion size and quite tasty. I wish I could go on about Phở Hut some more, but, plain and simple, everything was good and exactly what we expected. We were very pleased and would go back if we’re in that area and hankerin’ for some phở.

Would definitely come back. A tad bit pricey for phở($ 7.50small/$ 8large), but then again– I can’t keep reminiscing about the $ 3 bowl days. Very clean, cozy, and adequately staffed restaurant in an off-beat office strip mall a caddy corner away from the Pieology/Kohls lot. Phở itself was a bit bland– but since I prefer a more refined and clear broth, it was actually very good. The meat was a better quality than other phở places and sliced a lot thicker too. Noodles were perfectly prepared with just the right amount of «snap» to them. Garnish furnished consisted of basil, beansprouts, peppers and lime, which looked pretty decent. Not the best phở, but for its proximity to me, it’s definitely on my new go-to spots. Will have to pay them a second visit to see how consistent it is with food and service.

I stopped in for a very nice lunch and I was surprised when I read the open at 10 am. I order the combination Bún with char grilled chicken, pork, shrimp, egg roll, and beef which they gave me later because they forgot to include it. The combination Bún cost $ 10.95. The Bún arrived in a large bowl served with a hefty amount of vermicelli. All the protein were great and came with a nice grilled flavor, spot on seasoning, and well cooked and tender. The pork was my favorite which provided the best flavor and was the most tender. The chicken was very good as well and was very tender with a mild flavor. The shrimp, they were only two, were good and cooked well and popped in the mouth with texture and flavor. The egg roll was great with its crispy exterior and tasty tender ground pork and vegetables in side. These would be a great item to order as a starter. The beef, which arrived outside the bowl of Bún was quite good. Given it was made to order, it arrived piping hot and juicy. The yellow onion inside the beef, although aggressive, tasted good and had quite the crunch. I would suggest they use a Maui onion give its premier sweetness and tenderness. However, the beef wrapped around the onion was very tender and tasted great. Service was very polite and well mannered. The place was very clean and provides and average amount of seating. Very nice people.
