Went there for lunch today. Was seated quickly, service was fast and friendly and the food was very good. I had Sushi; sashimi and a roll with no rice. The roll was made up of crab, cucumber, cream cheese and wrapped in salmon, baked then topped with what I think is spicy mayo… phenomenal. I will be back.

This is really close to where work, so I wanted to love it. Unfortunately it just wasn’t that tasty, and was pretty expensive. I ordered vegetable fried rice with tofu. The portion was small, and there was hardly any tofu on the dish. The broccoli had started to turn that yellow color which makes it bendy not crunchy. Our server was pretty friendly but didn’t refill our water during our whole stay, and we had to flag him down for the check. My friend had ordered her dish of Pad Thai to be made spicy but she said it was pretty tasteless. The place has a nice buzz to it, but the food leaves a lot to be desired.

Great food for a great price. It never disappoints. Sometimes during lunch hour it may be difficult to get your check but otherwise it is a great experience.

I ordered delivery from this place. It took 50 minutes to arrive. The soy sauce was not in a separate container but was poured directly inside the box. As a result, when I opened the plastic bag, the sauce was everywhere but the food. Just a big smelly mess of wet towels and spilled rice in the bag! The sashimi was pretty tasteless, and the«fried rice» was more like«broccoli with some rice».

The food is pretty good. But, I don’t understand why they charged us 18% service fee for five people at noon. The service they provided was just ok. They forgot our hot water and ice tea. In addition, they didn’t even check back. So, the service charge was not making sense. I think it is ok to charge the service fee for 6ppl and provide good service at the meanwhile.

I was driving past and saw this place and decided to go in and order food. Very large place clean and the food is amazing. I’ve been back probably five times already! The spicy Saigon chicken is a MUST lightly breaded chicken pieces with bell peppers, onions and a spicy sauce with rice and salad it’s literally the best thing ever!!! There sushi is also good fresh and good portion. I am a huge fan of there Thai iced tea too. There phở soups are also good and a very large portion. The prices are very reasonable for the amount and quality you get. Over all very good only thing parking is not the best but HEY it’s downtown what do you expect ?!. I would say either order to go or go in the evening when people have already left work. But defiantly go your taste buds will thank you !.

Phở here is pretty average as is the sushi. They have different prices on their website, so when you should up it is a bit of a surprise. Nothing terrible though. I just like updated info so I know what I am in for. the service was alright, no one checked up on whether or not I was enjoying my meal but I didn’t have to wait a year for my check. The food itself was a bit lacking in flavor and just kind of average. In a pinch I would come here but I am still on the search for a perfect walkable spot to get ny Phở fix!

I’ve been to many Phở restaurants in San Diego and this one by far my favorite!!! As soon as you walk in you can tell by its Art Deco décor and high ceilings that the food is going to be top shelf. Everything is extremely clean and the wait staff is fast and attentive. The food came out in minutes and was more than we had expected. If you like Phở you have to hit this hidden gem. I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Best phở place I’ve ever been to. I had a hangover when I arrived. I got their veggie phở and now I feel better! I didnt taste any msg either. Beautiful atmosphere, fresh food, and very friendly staff. I can’t wait to try their sushi. I’ll be back!

Really classy phò place. This isn’t your average low quality phò. This is really good phò and the sushi is really good too. The prices are cheap but the place is fancy. It’s really well done with lots of seating and wait staff that are sharply dressed in black and all the dish-ware is modern and cool I can’t wait to come back

First time here, only really wanted the Phở but ended up picking on my friend’s bbq platter which consisted of bbq pork, salad, steamed rice, and broth. The Phở was huge and enough for the two of us, but there was really nothing special about it except for the bowl it came in. The prices were high as expected, considering the upscale ambience the restaurant provided and that it was in downtown. Our waiter was really nice except he was obviously stressed out that he was our waiter, host, cashier and bus boy. He wasnt rude or overly nice. The next time around I will probably try their Japanese Sushi menu. But considering some of the reviews, I would probably just stick to the Vietnamese side. Btw, they do not have Vietnamese sandwhiches. Very disappointing.

I’m not a picky eater whatsoever. The food is mediocre honestly. It just doesn’t have its kick you know. I only gave it two stars because they do deliver.

Went to this location based on reviews… Since the name of this restaurant is Phở noodle… I tried the Phở Dac Biet. This place is NOT4 star worthy. The quality of the food here is below average. My phở broth was good, but the beef inside was a mixture of fresh and old meat. The old meat was dark in color and rubbery. A sign it has been cooked and reheated. It was difficult to chew. Totally ruined the dish. My GF ordered the salmon roll with shrimp tempura and it too was not fresh. The tempura was hard and chewy. I cannot recommend this place for either the Phở OR the Sushi. Notice the majority of WHO is giving high reviews. Then look at my face! I’m asian… I know PHO and SUSHI… Stay away!

OK usually I wait till I step foot inside a restaurant to review it but I’ve ordered take out 5x… So, I’m going to review the food alone. I really like their Phở, and that’s usually why I order, I need my Phở fix, and now! However, I’m not a fan of the sushi I ordered, It’s been awhile I tried a few rolls and wasn’t impressed. Unfortunately I can’t remember their name’s. Their Buddha belly ice cream dessert is fabulous!!! So this place seems to have entrees that I really like and others I really don’t. But for what I use them for(Phở, egg rolls, and dessert) I love them. I recommend you try it keeping in mind how the menu can fluctuate from fantastic to not so hot. This place is in Downtown SD. Good luck and happy eating!

More like a 3.5 to low 4s. First crazy big storm and I needed phở, was feeling under the weather. So my BF drove in the thundering storm in search of phở. We went to Phở Point Loma but the power was knocked out and there were tons of traffic and flooding. I told him the next closest is Phở Noodle & Sushi bar. He drove down there on a mission. Phở: the phở we got to go and it came in those to go easy phở bowls. I got the beef and tripe. The noodles weren’t sticky and broth had good flavors. The beef wasn’t too bad. The one thing I noticed was the vegetables(basil and bean sprout) was not of best quality. The basil was black and wilted. My condiment bag was useless and I used some of my BFs. The bean sprout ends should be yellow but it was black. Not good! I thought it must be an off day. So I came again because I was craving some phở again on Tuesday. Again everything was good except the vegetables. They do not use fresh bean sprouts and basil. Half of it was black or gross. You can judge the freshness of ingredients by the bean sprouts and basil. This place has full phở potential but need to use better vegetables. Sushi: I can’t speak for their sushi. I not 100% sure on phở and sushi joint together. Their pricing on their sushi(and phở) is on the higher end. Maybe because of location? But the phở is better than any phở in downtown… Just need better veggies then it’ll get my full 4 stars. But since it’s better than phở express and haven’t tried ex-iron chef sovereign viet kitchen(he quit before even making an appearance), I’ll keep coming back when I’m craving some phở.

Should have known better than to buy Japanese food in a Phở restaurant. My wife enjoyed her phở which I should have went with but I decided to get sushi and ramen. This is NOT Japanese ramen… the menu stated otherwise and needs to be changed. It missed alot of the description of what came out. First, the chashu pork that they supposedly had in the ramen was nothing more than chinese pork that you find in fried rice, second the ramen had broccoli and bok choy, third he noodles they used were the same as the ones for chow mein… shouldn’t be called ramen at all but it is my fault that I expected too much. Other than that servers didn’t come around once asking how our food was.

I don’t know why this place is so highly rated?!! I’m usually a really nice reviewer too! This is gonna be long but please read on because my experience here was quite bad! First off, let me start off and say the service was not that great. Our waiter was lazy and told us to pass the waters down and would essentially make us do his job by passing around the utensils and the napkins and the condiments. Then, the food. My sister ordered a spicy tuna hand roll and when it came out, it didn’t look like spicy tuna so she asked to make sure it was and they confirmed that it was spicy tuna. But after eating it, she told me it was just regular tuna. Why put spicy tuna on the menu if you’re just giving out regular tuna?! Also, the seaweed wrap was only filled half way so there was barely any rice and fish to eat. I ordered salmon sashimi and it had small pieces of plastic on it! I kept finding plastic in my mouth as I was eating it! So gross! Plus the sashimi was VERY thinly sliced. I had holes in some of them because they were breaking. Eh, not worth it. I also got phở. It was whatever. Definitely nothing special about it. The waiter also took some of our food away before we were finished eating! The only good thing about this place is that one of the waiters was very nice and quickly corrected an order that the other waiter misheard and messed up on. Our main waiter was really bad and never checked up on us or anything! The other waiter that was working gave us water and made sure we were okay. This was the same guy who corrected our order. Tl;dr Mediocre service, mediocre food

The best part of this restaurant is the phở — great noodle and broth. However, most everything else was a negative experience. Bad spring rolls, no water refills, waiter tried to memorize our order but had to come back to incorrectly confirm something, waiter asked through a railing if we needed more drinks instead of walking around… Not impressed. Not sure what everyone else is raving about. Wouldn’t recommend to friends, wouldn’t come back again.

We came in after seeing the«20% off ALL sushi» sign in their window. The place looks nice and the décor is great. The chairs were not very comfortable. I ordered a thai iced tea with boba. The tea was good, the boba was awful. It tasted old and it was clumped together in a giant ball. The sushi came out looking ok, we were never given soy sauce dishes so we kind of just poured it over the rolls and nigiri. The fish quality was eh, the salmon was that bright neon orange that grocery store sushi usually looks like. When the bill came out the 20% off was taken off the sushi rolls but not the sushi nigiri. Looking at another Unilocal review it seems like they don’t count nigiri as sushi which is weird. Photos of Nigiri is literally on the fancy window sign next to the 20% off text… So you guys might want to fix that. Lastly, your lime water is awful. Like bad bad tasting. You leave the peel on the lime and it just gives the water that overwhelming gross peel taste. Try cucumber or lemon instead.

FYI Here is the sushi encyclopedia definition: The nigiri sushi or just plain nigiri is the most basic form of the Edo style sushi. Nigiri is the noun format of the verb nigiru which means to squeeze or to grasp. A nigiri consists of sushi rice lightly squeezed together with a main ingredient(frequently a sashimi or raw fish), so they stick together and can be eaten as a whole. The $ loss was minimal, it was the shadiness that ticked me off and made me feel bad after having a great day on my visit to SD. Servers if you rip us off it’ll just be reflected in your tip. I don’t wanna be a d-bag and have worked as a server so I still tipped.
