Went here to grab phở on my lunch break. Parking is a bit of an issue, nothing in front of this place. blocked a block over. The place was BUSY at lunch time so I ordered and waiting for the take out. Didn’t take too long. The phở itself was good! However I ordered a large and I felt the container wasn’t big enough to fit all the goodies in it. I will be back though! Next time I think I will try dining in :)

I liked the phở last time I was there. This time I ordered chicken fun noodles. Terrible. The chicken was rubbery and almost had a consistency like it was raw, perhaps cooked in a microwave. I did not finish it, or even eatbhalfnof it. The dish was bland overall. Very disappointing.

it was my first experience and it was nice. my friends rave about this place. I ordered something simple but even simple was good. the food was a lil skimpy for the price but all around it was good.

Decent phở, served up quick and at a fair price! I was here on a Thursday evening, and ordered a combo phở, which came with flank, brisket, tripe, tendon and steak. It was $ 9 for a large, and I popped the $ 1 for extra noodles. The phở came out within 5 minutes, piping hot. The broth itself was quite good, as were the noodles. The meat was a bit low in quantity and quality, and really didn’t add much except some protein. I am glad I got the extra noodles as a result, because that helped fill me up. Service was utilitarian — it got the job done. I would return, but won’t crave it.

Great food even better service this place is kid friendly which is another plus for downtown dining. I’m so happy I found this place only 3 blocks away from where I work, so I’m pretty much a regular now :-)

A good solid place for Phở. We decided to eat here as it was close to our hotel. The prices are fair and the portions are quite big. It’s not as flavorful as the phở places I usually go to. This place is perfect for those on a budget.

Fabulous phở, best I’ve had in San Diego. Not only the best I’ve had, but super fast. Very friendly guys working. Checked in on me and were super nice. I had the rare beef phở and Thai tea. Larger size phở for only $ 1 more-totally worth it. So glad I found this place!

I love vietnamese food and I just moved nearby so I’m glad that this place exists. The service is quick and the ambience is nice and laid-back. The menu is succinct which I like. To many vietnamese restaurants suffer from too many options. I will say that most of the menu items cost 1 or 2 more dollars than they should. But that probably has to do with it being downtown. The phở broth was very flavorful, but noodles were bunched together more than the needed to be. Still a good bowl though. A large is only a dollar more than a small and is significantly bigger. They nailed it with the grilled pork bahn mi. I’ll definitely get that again. So, maybe slightly overpriced and not outstanding, but definitely a solid neighborhood vietnamese spot.

Best phở ive tried, friendly and fast service. It does get busy during lunch but you still get everything pretty quick

This place is crowded every lunch because it’s the only phở place downtown. But if it were bad, it wouldn’t be crowded. It’s cheap and decent. There are better phở places in San Diego(think Claremont Mesa), but this is a decent option if you’re downtown. It’s certainly better than the Thai downtown. Come early if you’re in a hurry at lunch. I like the chicken vermicelli bowl and the rare steak phở. The portions on both of these are reasonable and you’ll get decent portions of meat. The chicken vermicelli bowl is fresh and light. If you’ve got a busy day or it’s got, this would be my go to. The phở broth is nice and light. The vegetables that accompany it are fresh. They do serve alcohol, but the beer options are nothing amazing compared to other places nearby. So don’t come here to drink.

First and foremost, this is the fastest service I’ve ever received at any phở place ever. Given their location, I wouldn’t be surprised if they had their fast service system dialed in for the lunch hour rush. Phở Xpress is adjacent to big employment hubs like the Procopio and Wells Fargo buildings, but don’t let the suits scare you — this place is as casual as they come. It’s a small place with intimate seating that may have you making some friends. When I came here I rolled solo, as I often do, and the waiter sat me next to two nice ladies. There were two small tables put together that made for four total seating spots; they took two, I took one. It was a bit odd at first, but ultimately everyone is just there to wolf down their food and get back to work. Plus, like I said, under the right circumstances this could land you a new friend! I got their phở bowl with all the meats. It was a tad bit smaller than I expected, but good nonetheless. If anything a bit salty and I could’ve used more lime, but not a bad experience at all. This place is great for both a lunch meal or after work dinner. The place is seemingly clean, super fast, and decently priced. I would come here again and maybe bring some coworkers along as well.

It’s so hard to find good phở downtown… Phở Xpress is amazing. I love their spring rolls and rare steak phở and fried rice. Only downside is they’re closed on Sunday’s!!! Seriously the best phở restaurant downtown!

Came here during lunch because a coworker and I were craving some phở. Unfortunately, it’s been hot and humid this week in San Diego and the only«A/C» they had in the building were the fans on the ceiling. It was kinda musky inside. We sat down to order, got some water, and the waiter came back to take our order. Within 5 minutes, our spring rolls and both our phos came out. It was literally the fastest service I have ever experienced. This is a great spot to come during lunch. We Über-ed it from the office, sat down, ate, hung out, and Über-ed it back to the office all within 30 minutes. The incredibly quick service was a huge factor in that timing. I loved the spring rolls here because sometimes spring rolls have basil and/or mint and those flavors are too strong for me raw in a dish. I love them as flavors to compliment a dish, but that’s about it. The spring rolls here didn’t have either, or they have a very slight amount. Much more enjoyable for me, but if you enjoy the basil and mint flavors, these might not be the spring rolls for you. Both our bowls of phở were delicious. Came out quick and piping hot. The broth was delicious and the meat was tender. We’ll definitely be back. preferably on a cooler day. :P

I came here with a pretty big party. The servers are really attentive which I like especially with a big group. We ordered appetizers such as the egg rolls and the calamari which was excellent along side the dipping sauce it came along with. I ordered a mixed meat rice meal that was amizng! I would come back here if I am in SD and craving Vietnamese food.

This is a phở joint in downtown San Diego. Parking can be difficult. You’ll either need to drive around to find street parking or the closest parking lot. It can get packed here during lunch, especially during rainy days or when there’s a big event(like comic-con) in town. Seating can be tight. More often, we’ve come after work when there’s not a lot of people. They’ve upgraded the interior since they first opened a while back, so it seems that they’re movin on up. The owner is very friendly and the staff is mostly nice. Quick service. The prices are a little more than other phở places, but that should be expected for a downtown location. We’ve had their spring rolls and their rare steak phở which are good. Average like most phở places we’ve been, but nothing to complain about. Banh Mi is probably one of the best. We usually get the grilled pork. Meat is tasty. Bread is nice and soft. We don’t like it when the bread is too hard/tough to bite. Also, had their Thai iced tea. Our rating is closer to a 3 — 3.5, but because we like their banh mi sandwiches more than most places, we had to bump up our rating a bit. If you happen to be around the downtown area, go ahead and give this spot a try. We probably wouldn’t go out of our way to come here, due to parking and so many other phở places around SD, unless we wanted some of their banh mi sandwiches.

Good. Fast. I think the food is probably $ 2 – 3 more because it is on downtown instead of Kearny mesa or southeast SD. MASLOW, prefer my vermicelli noodles thinner but not a big deal.

The phở broth is really good. The spring rolls taste like spring rolls, nothing exceptional. But I’m always very critical about the phở broth. Just enough everything.

Took a walk north from the Convention Center after Unilocaling for phở. The menu is filled with options; my only complaint is all the phở broth is beef-based, so the veggie phở is not suitable for vegetarians such as myself. I had the veggie banh mi, which was vegetarian, as well as the spring rolls, which were delicious. A friend of mine, who is not vegetarian, ordered phở, which he said was pretty amazing. The décor is nothing special, but really, when you’re eating delicious Vietnamese food, who cares what’s on the walls?

First time coming here and was very happy with my phở. I ordered the #22 well done steak with brisket and have to say, it tasted very good. The menu has a lot of different options from Orange chicken to sandwiches to phở. I paid around $ 9 and got a large bowl with extra noodles. The hot sauce is the traditional sauces that phở places tend to carry. Only con was the environment. I ate in the restaurant and they did not play any music. I was forced to listen to a lady’s conversation with her boyfriend about her stressful day at work which in turn made me remember mine! Get some tunes going guys! Besides that the food was great, I just might choose takeout next time. :)
