Not very clean, Not very good food. I tried the veggie pad thai and it was 3 stars not more.

I was at a nearby store and I had a thought: remember when I used to swing by a pick-up-stix after work? Is my memory really so bad that the food quality is objectively worse than some of the barely two-star holes-in-the-wall I’ve tried simply because they deliver? Why not go back and kick the tires again? Given the two other patrons at the start of the dinner rush, I suspect many people have outgrown the chain. I ordered two standbys: the Tso’s chicken, which I ordered straight up instead of having my customary chicken-and-vegetables, and one of the newer entrees: Pad Thai. In other words, I took two evaluation dishes I would try if I were checking out a new spot. And in all honesty, neither was bad. I’ve tasted worse examples from dedicated chinese or thai joints. Sure the pad thai came with an iced-tea lemon wedge instead of lime and the shaved carrots were dry. Sure, the sweetness drowned out the spices in the Tso’s. But the noodles were fine if a little mild, which you can fix with some extra chili sauce, and there was no piece of the Tso’s suffering from overcooked stringy toughness. I can’t say I’ll be back anytime soon, but there is definitely worse food out there than chain quick-service.

Ok so an updated review… my friend and I came here 6 months ago and we didn’t like it. That time I ordered the firecracker shrimp and it was way to sweet. This time I ordered the chicken curry with brown rice extra spicy! This time was better. My friend ordered her food and we also ordered wonton and eggrolls. All that for $ 26! Yeah a little over priced! The food was just ok! Not the best, just ok! I wouldn’t have paid more than $ 16-$ 18. We didn’t like that veggies we so big and the onions were not cooked so well. It was better this time, but will we be back, nah! And besides, my friend had a bad after affect, having to go to the restroom an hour later!

This is literally the worst«food» I’ve ever eaten. Overpriced for how tiny the portions are. Looked like an airplane meal. Took two bites and nearly barfed. Also their soda machine was out of syrup for 2 of the drinks. Here are directions from Pick Up Stix to Panda Express:

From time to time we Have Pick up Stix take out, however this is the last time. The egg rolls were soggy and old tasting. The two dishes we ordered, Mongolian Beef, I had trouble finding the beef and the chicken house special we found 3 pieces that were large enough to identify. BUT they both tasted the same… lousy. Never again, goo by Stix

So we just got our food, took the first bite and immediately bit into a PIECEOFRUSTYMETAL. DONOTEATHERE.

This place is right near my office and I thought a quick healthy lunch of chicken and steamed vegetables would be nice. With in one hour I was feeling anything but healthy and spent the next 2 hours on the toilet. I usually avoid all fast food and one slip reminds me why.

If it’s a Wednesday, you’ll catch me picking up my dinner to go at the Hillcrest Pick Up Stix. 100% of the time, I get the house chicken and anywhere between 6 and 10 wantons — depending on how the mood strikes me. On Wednesdays the wantons are only $ 0.30 each.(They used to be a quarter. Damn inflation) Those things are super addicting. More often than not, I’ll have the wantons for dinner and save my entrée for the next days lunch. And the dipping sauce that comes with it, is the perfect compliment! I’ve never come to this location to have a sit down meal, so my experience is solely of the call ahead, pick-up and leave variety. I have never had a problem with parking, my food is always ready when I arrive. They’ve never had a misstep with my order and I always get home to get my fat and happy on. 4 Solid Stars!

Maybe I’m in the minority on this Web site, but I don’t trash restaurants for serving«fake Chinese» food. As a highly active American who occasionally conjures up a craving for Americanized Chinese, I apologize for nothing. PUS is indeed Americanized Chinese. In fact the Web site tells the story of the Chinese owner coming over in 1982 and tailoring his foods specifically for American taste buds. So what. I enjoy traditional Chinese and USA Chinese. More food for me. Get over it. I went straight-mall-food-court-style and ordered bourbon chicken for 600 calories and $ 7.89, and I opted for brown rice. If one more person on this site rips a place for«bland» white rice … ARGH. People it is white rice! What do you really expect??? I got a lot more chicken than I expected — definitely more than Hungry Panda gives. And the sauce was sweet, again, as indicated by the calorie count. I wasn’t aware the House Special(white wine/garlic) chicken was the most popular item, so I’ll give that a spin next time I mismanage my diet.

I stopped by for a late lunch here the other day. I had the kung pao chicken lunch plate with brown rice and a couple of cream cheese wontons. I also order 4 steamed dumplings and a diet coke. The dumplings were good and cooked well.( ) I poured some of their brown sauce and they were just right. The ground chicken and veggies were tender and very good.( ) I liked the kung pao, but it was bit over sauced and there was not enough chicken.( ) I should of asked for light sauce. Everything was cooked well and the peanuts were nice and crunchy and veggies crisp.( ) The brown rice was well steamed and tasted good. I liked the cream cheese wontons. They were light and crunchy and the cream cheese was not lost during the frying process.( ) The service was good and the food came out a descent amount of time. Good descent fast Americanized Chinese food for a good price… but give me more chicken!

I recently went here to pick up lunch for a co-worker. They wanted something that was not what we were planning on getting. They got the mongolian beef with noddles and an egg roll. They mentioned how great the food was. I also thought the staff was really friendly.

Poor service: I ordered online; the order was to be ready for pick up @ 8:24PM. I arrived @ 8:36PM, and they were cleaning as if to close and hadn’t started my order. Very disappointing… if you want service don’t come here. Food: Crispy Honey Chicken, should be renamed«Where’s the Honey Chicken?»; the Pad Thai noodles… If your used to having good Pad Thai Noodles, then don’t order these; The Chicken Fried Rice, tasted as if it were prepared with re-used grease; and my Crispy Filled Won Tons were soggy, we didn’t bother eating them… I would not recommend eating here, It wasn’t cheap, and for the price… Definitely a hard 2-Star rating at best.

If I’m in the neighborhood, my blood sugar is low and I need to get a decent parking spot, I go to Pick Up Stix Hillcrest. The food is clean. The customer service is excellent, talk to Jeff. I chow down their and I’m good to go. I recommend the Kung Pao Chicken, my favorite…

My favorite fake Chinese food place. 4 stars because I’m not capable of giving American Chinese food a 5. I enjoy PIck Up Stix. I’m especially fond of them because they deliver to my house. I wish they delivered before 5PM, but I’m not gonna complain too much about it. The food is really good if you don’t mind Americanized Chinese. I recommend the house special chicken and the crispy honey chicken, both are very good and come with a choice of rice. The new sweet, hot chicken something is amazing too(Can’t remember the actual name). I think it’s my new favorite. The family pack special is also an amazing deal if you’re feeding a few people — 2 chicken entrees, rice, lo mein, 2 dumplings, and 4 wontons. It’s around $ 25 and easily feeds 4.

I was craving something bad for me, and wanting to use a Groupon for another establishment in the same complex i wandered in here to grab dinner. The girl behind the counter was friendly and welcoming, I placed my order, and waited a very short time before it was ready. the food was the same as it always is, some fried rice and cream cheese wontons. Its nothing special, and its definitely not good for you, but its cheap scratches the itch when I don’t want to cook and the last thing I want is another damn salad!

Awesome spot. The food there is truly divine! The service there is pretty much hands down. I forgot the name of the shorter girl who helped me, but she went above and beyond in ensuring that I got my food… Long story short; I forgot my bank card, and had approximately $ 18 in cash and my bill was around $ 21. She basically took the money I had and told me not to worry about it. Now that was just OUTSTANDING! People always forget what you did for/to them, but they never forget they way you make them feel. I always feel like I’m at home at this place! Semper Fi!

Staff is very friendly, food came out quickly, and that’s about all the praise I can muster. Both my orange chicken and The Boy’s pad Thai were so over-sauced that the meat in both dishes was extremely soggy. The rice was good, but I might as well be complimenting the sun for being hot. I do need to mention that the girl who took our order, although polite, went immediately the side of the restaurant(in full view of customers) to eat her own meal. I watched her eat her food, then go deliver a meal to a customer, then back to her food, and then to take an order. This happened throughout the entire time we were eating our lunches, and not one time did I see her wash her hands. That is disgusting! And it’s a SERIOUS no-no in the food service industry. Common sense, girl. Get some.

I went here for the first time because I had a coupon for buy one get one free meals. It wasn’t worth going, even with the coupon. The food was pretty gross. We got chicken house special(I think that was what it was called) and the first thing I thought when I bit into it was«this is… sweet?!» I paid $ 1 extra for veggies, and thank goodness for those veggies. The chicken was so covered with some kind of sweet, thick, greasy breading it didn’t even seem like chicken. not good. The other dish was spicy basil chicken with noodles. I got it with light sauce. I liked it better than the other dish, but that’s not saying much. The only time it tasted good when when I happened to bite into a piece of basil. To add insult to injury, the food isn’t cheap, well, it isn’t as cheap as it should be. Without my coupon, our 2 meals would have cost like $ 18. That’s crazy for what amounts to not-good fast Chinese food. I am teetering on giving it one star, but I figure it *could* have been worse.
