I can’t believe his place is closed. They did gluten free pizza, and I try to cut down on the gluten for health reasons. I know they are changing up the place into something else, but they always had great beers on tap that I’d never heard of or tried(which is tough for me, even though being on the west coast now brings a whole new wave of interesting brews) and their pizza had vegan or vegetarian options if you didn’t feel like consuming meat that day or had vegan friends over. I really dug their pizza with daiya cheese. I know that most vegan cheese is really judt vaguely cheese resembling product, but this daiya stuff was good enough that i went out and bought some of my own to make my own healthier version of cheese on toast at home. Hopefully they bring back some of what made me love them in the first place when they re-open. Also, hopefully, they can keep the prices down as they were a bit pricey, although the food was great quality so I can’t complain too much as you definitely got what you paid for in terms of quality and service.

AHHHHH!!! NOWAY! I just called to order a pizza and the phone number was disconnected and I came here to find out that it’s closed. :( What happened??? I thought they were doing well?! Anyways…I liked this chain quite a bit because I have a special diet and cannot have tomatoes. Well. I can.but will be in terrible acid burning pain later. sometimes it’s just not worth it. Anyways.this place was great because all of the ingredients were organic, natural, and perfect for a person like me who has special diet needs. I normally get plain cheese pizza and without tomatoes, it just tastes like cardboard. With Pizza Fusion, they actually made tomato-less pizza have flavor and taste delicious. Sad to see them close.

who wants some healthy pizza! no, that wasnt a typo… its actually attainable here. and for those of you who crave that cheesy, carb-y devil as much as i do… the existence of pizza fusion might help you feel a lil less guilty about gettin’ yer fix. …if you dont feel guilty — hell, get your standard bleached flour — pepperoni, dont-hold-the-cheese, in fact add some blue cheese to that baby, oh, can-i-get-some-sausage, ranch on the side too, please — no shame pizza. thats the beauty of pizza fusion: it satisfies the needs of everyone. meat-eaters, veggies, vegans, gluten-intolerants, people *trying* to be healthy(me)…anyone and everyone, really. no pizza discrimination! ever since bookmarking ages ago, i had been eagerly awaiting the moment id get to try the farmer’s market pizza with whole wheat crust. and people, ITISGOOD. with their pizzas created in sort of a flat bread fashion, you can gobble up 5 or 6 slices and walk away feeling satisfied, but not gross =))) 3 of us shared the large one and polished it off completely. it was the perfect portion for 3 hungry Unilocalers. flat bread app is a pass… not worth paying for imo. — i am completely disregarding our service in this review… but it should be known that what we experienced was awful. we were forgotten about on several occasions — took probably 45 mins for the space cadet woman to figure out our order never got submitted, never got one person their salad, gave us the wrong bill… twice. took another 20 mins to resolve everything, and continually made comments which questioned her sobriety :-| but the pizza and company was very good so it cant taint my experience enough to not recommend.

I cannot believe I’ve been missing out on this healthy and superb pizza for so long! Pizza Fusion is right in the heart of the Hillcrest ‘hood, but it somehow manages to camouflage itself amongst all the stores and restaurants along the middle of the 5th Ave strip. My dinner companion and I dropped by this place on a weeknight, and it was surprisingly busy. Luckily we were able to snag one of the last remaining tables.(After we sat down, everyone else cleared out. We must have some terrible B.O.) Our super-nice and incredibly attentive server took our orders in no time at all. We decided to share a small roast beet and feta salad and a «farmers market» pizza. You need to know that the portions here are massive, with pizzas filling up most of the square footage of the table. Bring your appetite and plan to hit the cardio machines the next day. You can feel less guilty if you order strategically, focusing on the veggie options — and there are plenty! Pizza Fusion emphasizes vegan and organic ingredients, which was unbeknownst to us before our visit. The beet and feta salad, which we had it with their tangy raspberry vinaigrette dressing, was wonderfully fresh and light. Aside from the dressing, the salad was also liberally sprinkled with red onion and candied walnuts, which complimented the sweetness of the beets. Yum. If I had any complaint about this salad, it would be that the beets were undercooked and retained too much residual earthy/raw taste. This was a relatively minor gripe, though. The real superstar of the meal was the farmers market pizza. This amazing pizza lives up to its name. There’s a cornucopia of delicious veggies all over it, including artichoke hearts, portobello mushrooms, zucchini, and oodles of onion. The cheese was a mix of mozzarella and provolone, if memory serves(although the pizza could have been served hotter with the cheese more thoroughly melted). To make things a little more healthy, we had the standard crust substituted for a whole grain crust, which only made the flavor better. When all was said and done, we waddled out there completely stuffed and totally happy. Even though the two of us ate enough food for four, we took some comfort in the fact that we also got some vitamins along the way. I’ll definitely be back to Pizza Fusion when I want another pie reinvented for the 21st century and served up yuppie-style.

Big Kahuna, you had me at BACON. Now that I have you on a multigrain crust, it makes it a less guilty pleasure. However, the Catholic guilt sets in a deeper cuz I’m a New Yorker and Bronx pizza lover, and I feel like I’m cheating on the CASHONLY folks just a crust throw away. My buddies who practically live at the Pound next door, recommended this place with a warning: IT’S NOTQUICK. When we were done eating and walked back to see our friends still playing pool next door, they thought we had gone home cuz we were gone so long. No need to walk to add coins to the meter, park behind Jamaba Juice & get your window ticket from PF. I will be back to try some of the other pizzas and because your service was great. I love it when you acknowledge me & thank me for my patience. The personal & a salad is plenty for 2 girls to share.

After starving myself all day in anticipation of the evening’s company meeting, I was excited to finally touch down in San Diego and headed over to Pizza Fusion for dinner. Known for serving high quality, organic and vegan pies, I was excited to try some of San Diego’s most popular pizza joints. There were many selections on the menu that seemed interesting, but I settled on the personal sized sausage with tri-colored peppers pizza. When it arrived, I was a little disappointed by the small size that wouldn’t satisfy even a person half my size. The flavors were very good and all very fresh, but there really wasn’t much in the way of ingredients. I tried one of my friend’s slices of spinach and artichoke, and that too was delicious but unsatisfying. I inquired about the larger sizes and was told that they weren’t even really much of an added value so I stuck with the personal size. It wasn’t a very good argument for an up-sell. While part of the allure of Pizza Fusion is that everything is so fresh, the portion sizes and«gotta have it» factors were pretty low. After finishing my entire tiny pizza, I was actually still very hungry afterward. I may have been extra hungry after the long day, but I could have come in on any day, have dinner, and then leave the place in search of some real food. That’s not to say that the pizza wasn’t any good, because it was. However, to be honest I would much rather go to Basic for some incredible pies and spend my money there any day. Pretty tasty for being an organic, healthier for you pizza. This place also has the best rendition of a multigrain crust. Very thin, very good. More like a cracker really with the sesame seeds, so it depends on if you like that or if you prefer a heavier, thicker crust. The pizzas were lighter on cheese than your usual. Again, something we personally prefer. The toppings were fresh and flavorful. We tried the Bruschetta(big flavors of garlic and basic), the spinach and artichoke and the philly cheesesteak. Probably the best of the bunch was the Bruschetta, but all were pretty tasty. We didn’t really like the gorgonzola on the philly cheesesteak, although they went pretty light with it. Just be warned. What does gorgonzola have to do with philly cheesesteak anyway? It was the only thing we found to be strange. The pizzas are a bit pricey(10 $ for a personal), but still cheaper than CPK and they are tastier too. Plus, they have the added bonus of being organic. Not a small thing in my book. I would definitely come back.
