Plaza Donuts & Yogurt

We have a closer donut shop to us in vicinity, but really appreciate the freshness of the donuts and the exceptional customer service this shop provides.

After a hearty breakfast at JVs next door, I was craving glazed donut holes. It was around 11am on a Sunday morning and many of the cases were empty. Low and behold there were glazed donut holes on the top shelf. SCORE!!!
For a dozen donut holes were $ 1.40, so I opted for the dozen. I saw other items I wanted to try, but decided to get the mini deliciousness instead. I saw ice cream but the ice cream did not look appealing, as if it’s been sitting there for a while.
The nice little Asian lady was super nice and friendly. She even joked how the donut holes are bite sized and easy to eat. I don’t feel as bad if I pop them in my mouth vs a whole donut.
I don’t know if there are other flavors since the only flavor available was glazed. The donut holes were nicely glazed and very light, fluffy and fresh.
When visiting JVs, you just pick up some sweets next door. I’d definitely come back for the holes!

I stood there for five min rang the bell twice– no one in sight. So I will try them again but ONLY because they are next to JV’s

Didn’t know what to expect when we entered Plaza Donuts but was pleasantly surprised. I’m picky about my doughnuts; these were able to satisfy all of my doughnut needs in just a few bites. Their apple fritter was terrific! Apple-​y and moist! Great old-​fashioned cake doughnuts, glazed and unglazed, too! Still have my buttermilk bar left for tomorrow and it looks pretty awesome! It’s not a fancy place by any means, but very, very tasty doughnuts!

I’d almost rather keep this a secret. WOW! Donuts are fresh, really good, and really cheap. Actually, everything they have is really cheap.
WARNINGS:
Sometimes, they run out of donuts. The ice blended coffee is not very good, but that’s not why you come here. The ice cream is not the best, but is super cheap as well. Get the mini, if you get any, because it’s big.

Very nice woman behind the counter. She hooked up the ham/​sausage and egg croissants, she cooked up the egg fresh and stuffed it in the croissant. The cheese is driping out, but not out of control, and the croissant is moist and flakey, yummy. Next time I’m in SD I’m coming back.

A happy accident turned out perfect. Came to the Mexican spot next door to find they were closed. Came in for coffee and ended up staying for breakfast. Everything looked so good. Ordered drinks, muffins, ham and cheese crossaint, bagel with cream cheese, donuts, bananas, and best of all was the fresh crossaint sandwiches. Ordered 2 sausage and 1 ham. Cheese and meat in a fresh giant crossaint. Owner is super friendly and was very helpful. Would highly recommend this place. They also have a variety of specialty coffee, ice cream, and yogurt. From out of town but may come back tomorrow morning.

I normally go to Rose Donuts up the street (Napa & Linda Vista Rd) but I picked up dinner from JVs next door.
I was VERY pleased with this place as well. The prices were great and the donuts are fresh and delicious.
I will definitely visit this place again the next time I’m in the area and craving a treat!

Best donuts I have had in town so far, huge portions. I had a sticky bun very right on hubby had ham and cheese croissant that was also very good. Nice little out of the way to grab a quick bite in the morning. Will come back.

Was in the neighborhood and suddenly wanted some donut holes. Went here and the lady said she didn’t have anymore donut holes and basically took a cinnamon donut and cut it up to «make donut holes» umm no. That does not work for me. Then I just asked for one plain glazed donut and what does she give me? A glazed with coconut shredding. Basically everything opposite of what I asked. I guess she just wanted the sale and improvised. Either way I am not impressed with the taste of the donut or the look of the shop itself and will not be back.

Cheap prices but extremely tasty! Best donut shop I’ve been to in San Diego. Ice cream and more!

Best donuts in San Diego (OB Donuts is a close second).
My favorite is the Bear Claw with nuts. It has a chunky apple filling inside. Extremely messy to eat. Grab a couple of extra napkins at the cash register. You’ll need them.
The owner is very friendly. She usually tosses a couple of free donut holes in my bag.

Bacon maple bar! Ask and you shall receive this lady is really nice as long as your not a trendy demanding hipster. If you want god donuts go here its next to JV’s home of the biggest surf n turf i have ever eaten.
The bacon maple bars are always gone in fact i have never seen one in the case, but the lady is cool so if you ask nicely she will make you one on the spot, which is way better anyway.

18 years of service, this donut shop is one of my favorite places to get my sweet fix!

Coming here for years and always the freshest and tastiest donuts around. Nice family business and I have purchased boxes many times for business meetings. They always go over well!

Forgot to grab breakfast one day and popped in for a quick bite.
Wonderfully pleasant ol Asian woman working the store herself.
She is delightfully genuine, happy to be there, and for the 5 – 10 minutes I was there, I felt like her grandkid. She asked me to help her open a stubborn bottle of apple juice for her and tried to round down my order total to the nearest dollar.
3x toasted bagels with cream cheese
1x bottle of orange juice
1x strawberry banana smoothie
12x donut holes
Came out to roughly 10 bucks. Amazing.
I’ll be looking for excuses to grab breakfast here more often.

GREAT Donut Shop with an Owner that is very friendly, always upbeat and nice
and whos Donuts are ALWAYS fresh.
This Shop sells Donuts, Ice Cream, Yogurt, Coffee drinks and no matter what you buy
it was freshly made no matter what time of day. It has the right out of the oven taste
and I mean DELICIOUS all day long.
The Place is SPOTLESS CLEAN, AND IMMACUALTE and has tables to enjoy
your coffee and donuts or what ever you buy.
It also great doing business with a owner that always says thank you
and goes out of their way for you. They appreciate your business and it shows.
Highly reccommend to all.

This donut shop is next to JV’s Mexican restaurant on morena. They sell donuts, ice cream, frozen yogurt and other coffee drinks.
We always go here for the donuts. They always taste fresh even though our donut cravings hit us at night. I always get two. One to eat at the shop & one to eat at 10pm when I’m watching my Kdrama– but I digress… My point is that even though it’s 10pm, my donut is still soft and fresh and tasty. Doesn’t seem like a big deal but once I got a donut somewhere else and by 10pm it was oily, frosting was melting off my donut and it was dry! I’ll never do that again!
Service here is great here too.
