If you’re looking for incredibly fresh & delicious homemade donuts, go to TK Donuts! It’s a little family owned donut shop & you can tell the owners pour their entire heart into these donuts! They are delicious & always incredibly fresh! And it’s always the same sweet woman(who I’m pretty sure makes them) working! Be aware, it is cash only. There is an ATM next store, but coming in with cash is always easier. It won’t take much, the donuts are very inexpensive!

I’ve been going there since I was a kid so probably about 30 years now. And I love their donuts!

I’m there twice a month for the last 2 years. Always fresh and the friendliest service. The best neighborhood donut shop.

I grew up coming to this donut place, and it used to be the best many years ago, but that was a long time ago. The last few times I’ve been here in the morning the amount of donuts available is minimal and they tasted kind of stale. I just miss the TK from back in the old days.

Great neighborhood donut shop with easy access right off of Clairemont drive. Plenty of tasty options to pick from. Come out and support local small business!

Been going to TKs for over 20 years. Best donuts and coffee ever! Owners are very kind and sweet. You won’t find a better shop.

Fantastic donuts… if you can get there before they’re all sold out! Some days you may get lucky, but quite frequently you can drive past and see a sign that says«sorry, we’re sold out» or something of the likes. But if you can manage to get your hands on them, you will get fantastic service, and extremely fresh pastries. Good luck, and be ready to be up early!

Beat donut shop in Clairemont & my favorite ever. So many great memories getting donut holes from here before tee-ball games or school. The nicest couple runs the shop and are always so kind. Plus they make amazing doughnuts! Very reasonably priced, carry an assortment of beverages as well. Get a dozen doughnuts from here for work or a function & everyone will love you!

Meh. They’re not bad. If you’re in the neighborhood and want donuts then stop in. TK’s apple fritters are lovely and their frosting is thick and hand dipped, but it just tastes like sugar instead of maple or chocolate. Their dough is thick and good for dunking, but not tasty on it’s own. Small variety, too, since it’s a two person operation. I’m not going to return — sticking with driving over to my fav place over in Kearney Mesa(yeup, I will take a 30-minite round trip for flaky, wonderfull dough at sunny’s over a 10 minute round trip to TKs)

So this morning I am on the 5 north near the 8 driving to work and I have a craving for donuts. So I pull up Unilocal and type in Donuts and TK comes up. It’s not far off the freeway(Clairmont Dr exit) and I had 25 minutes to get to Del Mar. All was going well as I entered TK’s when I noticed the«Cash Only» sign. I was about to abort thinking this was a sign from Dr. Gundry(google him) when the nice Asian lady told me there was an ATM next door. There is a BoA ATM outside of a real estate place but as I bank with Chase and there was a $ 3 charge for using the BoA ATM I thought about Dr. Gundry again. I figured I was already there so I bit the bullet and went back to TK’s and got a dozen donuts and an apple fritter. It cost $ 10. So a total of $ 13 for donuts that too be honest looked a bit anemic. But when placed in the lunch room at work at 8:30am were history by 11:30am among an office of only 8 people. So is it that the donuts were that good or the fact that they were simply donuts. Question is would I go back? Ehh!

Classic mom and pop donut shop! Prices are way cheaper here than those other corporate donut shops in the area! Give this place a shot and you will NOT be sorry! They have all the regular donuts with the specialty donuts as well. They greet you when you walk through the door and the old lady is always smiling! Enjoy!

Classic, delicious donuts. Huge, too. They have great apple fritters and bars. There are just some plastic chairs and tables, so the ambiance isn’t great, but Mission Bay is right down the road. Donut picnic! Also, their hours are vague, so get there early to avoid disappointment.

The reason I am rating them a 3 is because they used to be FANTASTIC so I know they’ve got potential … but recently… No-no. I must say this place used to be BOMB, Mom first told me about it while she worked at a local middle school and we would rush out early in the mornings to grab fresh(and oh so delicious donuts) BUT unfortunately the last 2 or so times I’ve been there I have been disappointed. I went in today really looking forward to a tasty donut… but alas, no. I ordered a glaze twist and a chocolate with nuts, Mom got the same and my niece got an apple fritter, sugar twist and a handful of donut holes. Mine didn’t taste fresh, and didn’t taste quality either, my niece said that the apple fritter was good, the sugar twist was okay but the donut holes were gross. I am really sad to say that I think I am going to go to Rose Donuts(Linda Vista Rd. has 2 locations! — 7612 and 5201) to get my donut fix. WORSTOFALL?! There was a black fly in the donut container making its resting spot on one of the muffins… Why I still bought donuts there? … I REALLY don’t know.

I’ve been to doughnut shops all over San Diego and my family used to own the greatest doughnut shop(I used to crave them every morning before I got to work). Let me tell you, TK doughnuts are the only ones who rival my family’s doughnuts. You won’t be able to find crispy doughnuts anywhere else but here, not sure how it is even possible. I’ve tried all their doughnuts and they’re all delicious. I almost gave up looking for good doughnut places, but glad I gave this one a try before I did. Yes, this place looks a little outdated, but who cares! The food and service makes up for it. They do also have bagels available if you decide to order for your office. Not a big selection, but it’s there and only for $ 1.50! They always run out before 2pm — the only bad side.

Gross. I am a donut lover. I had the cherry butterfly and an apple fritter. Both were rubbery and had a bad old oil smell. If I am going to use up 500+ calories it better be worth it. The lady was nice, so I am sorry to bash your pastry palace.

After living across the street for over a year I can honestly say this has become a regular stop for me. I leave for work at 5 am and anytime there’s a dollar in my pocket I contemplate walking in for something to munch on. The Chocolate Peanut Donuts are BOMB as are the Cinnamon Rolls and you can never go wrong with some Donut Holes. I have yet to have a bad donut from here but I’ve come in later in the day a few times and its been slim pickings. They also only take cash which sucks, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked up only to reach in my wallet and notice I only had my card. That being said, I don’t think I’ll ever buy 7 – 11 donuts again with this place just a walk across the street. Its still a lil hole in the wall but the owners are friendly the prices are low and their open at the crack of dawn. It may not look like much but the donuts are well worth the walk in.

When I moved into the neighborhood, my next door neighbor suggested that I go check out TK Donuts. That was the year 2000. Been going there ever since and there is no stopping now. I love the nostalgia I feel as soon as I walk in through the door. The owners always greet you with a big smile and are truly down right neighborly. My co-workers are always bugging me to stop at TK’s for at least two dozen donuts, though we are only sixteen people in our group. What does that tell you? The Bear Claws, Apple Fritters, and the plain glazed donuts are our favorites. The Bear Claws are always stuffed with apple filling, and the Apple Fritters are a big hit at the office Can’t help myself in going to TK’s every time I use the BOFAATM at the strip mall. Even though my colleagues keep complaining about their weight problems, be assured that both boxes of donuts are gone in 15 minutes. Cinnamon rolls are my drug of choice and I can’t seem to kick this evil addiction. There it goes again; my diabetes is acting up just talking about this piece of heaven on earth. Happy Munchin’

When is comes to Donut’s this is a cool place to head to. I am always setting up meetings my clients. This is so close to the office that I find it very easy to head over here and grab a few of these delicious treats. There are always good reasons to eat one of them. I feel that I rather support a mom and pop place than the bigger stores. Any time you can support one of these places, I say just do it. There is nothing really special here except the apple fritters and the jelly filled ones and the sprinkles and the chocolate and the maple bars. OK there are a lot of things you can choose from. Cheers

This is a review that was long overdue. Apple fritters are my favorite donuts and I grew up eating these, so these get automatic nostalgia points. When I came to San Diego, my buddy recommended them claiming they are the best. The apple fritters here are HUGE(as big as my face), with lots of apple and cinnamon. They have this nice crunchy outside texture as it should but the inside is doughy and delicious. I always get a half dozen when I fly back to San Francisco because I can’t find a place that has as good an Apple Fritter as TK. Their Cream Cheese Croissants are also humungous and I usually split it into 2 meals so I don’t feel like a fat ass. The cream cheese is sweet, so it provides a good contrast to the buttery croissant. This is my typical breakfast when I fly out back to SF/ I also enjoy the chocolate dipped custard donut, which is a bit different. Instead of it being custard filled, it is split in half and the custard is spread in between… making a custardy chocolate sandwich. It might be too sweet for some people, but I love vanilla custard!

Doughnut holes! i love so many of the tasty morning offerings, but i am pretty sure this place(and I) could survive solely on they light, fluffy, glazed, raised doughnut holes. they are real doughnuts holes, punched from the inside of the day’s ringed batches. Love this, but it then does limit the number available so you must arrive early to get all you want. Even my coworkers on Weight Watchers love these(«worth the points») and their bite-sized goodness. I have on occasion order dozens of these ahead of time and the kind owners have obliged me to whip up a special large batch. Other goodness: apple fritters, custard-filled chocolate-dipped, raspberry jellies, lemon filled. I don’t care too much for the cake variety, but my friends who like that style tell me these are on par. My only«skip» would be the cinnamon rolls; wrong dough, no icing, bit dry. Otherwise everything to love at this place. Old men hanging out and drinking a cheap cup of joe at the vintage tables. The place closes whenever they run out of food. They know how much they need to make and sell each day and if you’re lucky you’ll get you some.
