Had a slice of pizza with pepperoni. It was terrible. I was getting tires and san diego tire and wheel and wanted something to eat. Saw this little poza place and decided to give it a try. I wish I would have went to costco. I would have got much better pizza for 1 dollar less. I have tasted better at the 99 cents store frozen. Cheese tasted bland. Pepperoni was just added to a cheese pizza slice. Only thing good about it was the dough was soft. Didn’t have much flavor either. If looking for pizza I would go somewhere else.

Garlic cheese bread was terrible, pizza was not good. Delivery was fast and polite, but the food was poor.

It’s weird but I really like this place for pizza and spaghetti! It’s close, inexpensive and tasty! Can’t beat that! The portions are generous, which I like because I feel like I get more bang for the buck! The staff/family is really nice. I really like this place.

So I havent even eaten the sandwich thus far but i can tell you as of now, I will not be returning. First I order a sandwich and the guy stares at me awkwardly and says, «you want soda?» I say, «may i have two bottles of water?»(They’re the costco bottles– ya know the ones that cost like $ 4 for a giant pack?) So he runs my card and says, «hang on, it not work,» and I know its not for lack of money. And they charged me $.50 to run my card cuz its under $ 10. Lame. So another guy comes out and runs my card and tells me its $ 6.89. Fine-but the sandwich board says the sandwiches are $ 4.75, i guess the waters are like $ 1 each or something. So i let them know ill be outside(as theres no indoor seating), and then the second guy comes out about 3 minutes later and says, «i only charged you for one water.» So i grab my wallet and hand him my atm card(who caries cash anyways) — he says, «just give me a dollar.» I tell him i dont have any cash and he huffs and puffs away. Talk about your top of the line customer service(sarcasm). Anyways they brought my sandwich and it tastes fine, not great, but theres literally a tiny-ass piece of tomato on each half! And this is a big sandwich. Yeah dont come here!

I’d like to congratulate this place on serving the worst pizza I’ve ever tasted. Sampled pizza all over the country and this by far is the worst. Crust was stale tasteless and cheese was like cardboard. Sauce was ketchup with salt. Place was absolutely filthy and smelt of vomit and Rotten food. Nice people that work there which made this hard to write. However I hope to save someone a few bucks.

My family and I have been ordering here for years! Torpedo sandwich is really good, and pizza isn’t bad either. People who work there are so kind! Give this place a try :)

I have been ordering from this restaurant since they were next to Thrifty’s and Goody’s Donuts back in the day.(Shout out to long time Serra Mesa residents.) I don’t think I have ever their pizza. ;) They have the best meatball sub! That is my regular order. My parents like their Super Sub and spaghetti with meat sauce. The staff are very friendly. They are usually fast and will deliver even in the event of a blackout. LOL. If they are busy, they may take 45 minutes to deliver but the food is always piping hot. For a neighborhood restaurant that is delivery, I think they do a great job. I will continue to be a loyal customer of Rosa’s.

I hate to give a bad review to nice people but I need to stay honest. Small Pizza place, friendly people. I ordered a large Pizza(Bacon, Ham, Onions). I was extremely disappointed. I wanted something different from the classic pizza delivery restaurants(Domino’s/ Pizza Hut). The sauce was bad, really bad. Sauce tasted like commercial canned sauce with absolutely nothing added to it. The cheese was super weird, supper stiff. Once the cheese settled, it appears that the pizza was glued back together. I needed to get a knife to cut the pizza again. The cheese was just a piece of «plastic» on top of the pie. I eat a few slices because I was hungry, not because it was an enjoyable meal. There is no need to talk about the dough, flat. Two stars because they were friendly people, but I will not give the place another visit. Is not worth it.

Just what you need from a neighborhood pizza delivery place — pretty good food that’s reasonably priced. Their hours are great, too! We’ve had good subs and various and assorted pizzas from Rosa’s. Their«works» pizza is particularly good. Our«go-to» pizza restaurant when it’s for a home pizza party, especially when price is a primary concern!(Note: We do not get pizza from any national pizza delivery chains, so we don’t know how Rosa’s compares to them…)

I tried their 8 inch Italian sub which came with ham, salami, and pepperoni topped with lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and a side or oil and vinegar for $ 5 and some change. The sandwich was alright. It tasted good, and I really liked the soft toasted French roll it came on, but it needed at least one more layer of its deli meat for me to say I am a big fan of it. The lettuce and onions were abundant and fresh, but the tomatoes were unevenly sliced, to thick in this case, and kept falling out of the sandwich. I was not a fan of the oil and vinegar that came on the side. It tasted flat and was a little gritty. In came in a small little container with a lid so I am suspect to believe it may of been in there for a while. Service was friendly enough, I found it interesting that it took a while for them to make the sandwich, especially since I was the only one there at the time. A good sandwich, but with a little more deli meat, better sliced tomatoes, and some fresher oil and vinegar, this sandwich would be much better.

My family and I always come here for their large, extra large, feed-everyone-and-dey-mama pizza. It’s simple yet delicious. The service is friendly and they are just a nice mom-and-pop. Check them out if you’re craving some good pizza for a movie night or a quick dinner.

I always come here for pick up. They have a great deal on a large pizza with toppings for pick up. Ask them about it. I love their combo pizza and antipasto. The pizza here alway tastes fresh.

Best little hole in the wall pizza shop in the area! Generous toppings and consistently high quality. Add great prices, and you have a winner. Plus, the family that owns the place is great. Support local businesses, not big chains!

Yum! Always delicious. Our favorite is the torpedo sandwich which has shredded lettuce. We like how simple their menu is. Wish they offered dessert but this is out go to place when we are hungry and don’t want to wait long for a pizza.

Our daughter has been staying at Rady Children’s hospital for over 2 months. Over this period of time, my wife and I are really learning the San Diego area. Today she was craving spaghetti. As you can imagine, hospital spaghetti isn’t the most flavorful. We saw this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. We were a little surprised to discover how tiny the place is. No room inside for sitting. There are tables outside and San Diego weather is usually very pleasant. We were planning on taking the food to go anyways so it wasn’t an issue either way. What we did notice right off the bat was how good the food smelled inside. We ordered the spaghetti dinner and an extra large pizza. What a very pleasant surprise. The food is amazing! Our daughter loved her meal and made 2 meals out if it. We loved our pizza and already can’t wait to return. Yes I must admit the name doesn’t fit and Asians owning an Italian place seems odd as well but the proof is in the taste. Well done ;)

Sup, Okay let’s start, I called this place because I noticed the size of the sandwiches shown on their review pic and plus I was hungry. Called was put on hearing hold, so that means I was hearing everything in the background. While being put on hold I could hear the phones ringing. This man had my butt on hold and took another order before mine. How RUDE… So as I stated earlier I was hungry and the size is all that mattered. Ordered the super sub asked for roast beef instead of the regular ham, immediately was gunned down with a loud«no no not substitute anything, okay pay 3.99 extra now»… Of course I said never mind to what my tummy really wanted. Ordered two sandwiches, total came up to 25… And change 30 with tip… I said to myself, «self this is really expensive» but my stomach won… So I placed this order asked my man for money, he said dang what did you order … If this was a movie I would have looked back at the camera a grin, like see he is thinking the same thing I was thinking… How much! Lol anyways order placed… Tasted the two sandwiches, pastrami and the super sub. Never again! Both taste like Ted made it next door… All I can taste was mayonnaise, btw YUCK! p. s size do not matter when it comes to food. Dropping the mic and exiting left… That is all…

Asian employes running a pizza joint?! So had to try it. Ordered the combo slice for $ 4+tax. Got a ton of bell peppers an onions thrown on top of a pepperoni and sauage pizza. There was no taste to the crust, very bland. The sauce taste like canned. Costco has way better pizza! and is way cheaper! $ 2+tax. It was lunch time and no customers?! Lacking in customer service skills. A simple«Hi, welcome to Rose’s pizza how may i help u» and smile. Such a hole in the wall place. Sharing with a taco shop. Never again!

This place is no joke. Bomb cheap pizzas, bread, & wings. Delicious and always hot and quick. Its not super impressive but if you’re not a snob expecting refined goat-cheese flatbreads, this place will do just fine

I liked the pizza and the sub I got from this place. The prices are low too. The large take out pizza was a one topping for $ 7.50. The 16 inch sub was huge and very yummy for $ 8ish bucks. I will eat here again

For a hole in the wall, Rosa’s Pizza could be my favorite pizza place in San Diego thus far. Obviously, it’s very from being«gourmet.» There’s little chance of getting authentic mozzarella from some Tuscan village you’ve never heard of, and there are no designer pizzas like a Thai Chicken. But it truly makes the kind of pizza I enjoy. Really the star here is the crust, which was near perfect. Crust is incredibly important to me.(You can stop reading now if you are one of those freaks who doesn’t eat crust.) Although Rosa’s labels itself as «New York Style,» I would argue that that’s a misnomer given the fact that the crust is quite thick, meaning that’s it’s more similar to a pan pizza even if it’s cooked directly on the rack. The crust has a nice risen bread-like texture and an aroma like a bakery.(Which is one of my absolute favorite types of places.) But it’s not doughy like the crust one might find at a place like Pizza Port. Altogether, this is definitely not a pizza for anyone on trying to watch their carbs. Despite not being identifiably Italian-origin, the cheese was top-notch and baked perfectly into the sweet spot between under– and over-cooked. It didn’t turn orange(a sign of poor quality) and was minimally oily. Lastly, because I’m a die-hard carnivore, we ordered the all-meat specialty pizza. Again, we’re not talking Genovese sausage, but the quality was still superb. Summary: Truly best-in-class for a low-key, «traditional» American pizza joint.
