This is my second time here and the good thing is they are open early! I’ve been lucky because the gentlemen said that normally when other people are in charge of the opening shift they open at 8am instead of 7am ! I’m usually done with the gym by 7am. The first visit here I purchased the«Rum Jungle» smoothie which has acai, protein and apple juice. It was very delicious! It pretty much tasted like an acai bowl blended into a shake! It was great! Today I’m going to try the«Protein Colada», which has banana, coconut, protein, dates and milk. I think I found my new favorite drink! It’s so tasty and you can even taste the coconut bits and dates which are naturally sweeteners for this smoothie! A must try!

heres the thing I don’t ever write reviews but I feel like this is necessary and more pointed to the business… y’all need a better system… I came in for the first time and yes the line was long but I figured ok must be good and I was committed so here we go, but the truth is your wait time would be cut in half if you didn’t have to keep re-making orders due to the fact that you are only calling out the name of what people order and not just asking for names and calling out the names of those who did the ordering… its a mess people are taking other peoples orders because everyone orders basically the same thing and one person ends up waiting 45 min while someone else only waits like 7 just a big mess now this comment is more for the costumer… don’t get to excited if what you ordered comes with avocado because its literally just going to be one slice… one small lonely slice

Great place to enjoy an Açai Bowl !!! Ask for raw açai tho. It’s very similar to the real Brazilian açai. Dragon fruit bowl is very good as well !

Every time I visit SD, I immediately crave Rum Jungle. Honestly, this place could not get any better. Their acai bowls are unique, fresh, and delicious. The owner is so nice and loves his customers. Definitely a must try in San diego!!!

Hands down one of my favorite local smoothie spots on the beach! Everything is so fresh, healthy, organic, and wholesome here. The staff here are a friendly team! It’s the go to place after a hot beach run, volleyball game, bike ride, or just laying at the beach all day, and now you just want something 300% refreshing in your mouth! My go to smoothies: The Green Machine — super refreshing and hits the spot after a long beach run! Island breeze — to satisfy my sweet tooth! The other good news is they also have delicious acai bowls(that other reviewers speak of) as well as healthy breakfast and lunch options to go with your delish smoothie! Drink it up!

My fiancée needed an Acai Bowl because we live in San Diego and they are everywhere. This one was special. It was served in a pineapple. Obviously tasty; ripe fruit and Acai sorbet is great. That was the Aloha. I ordered the Amazon; strawberries, bananas, granola, something else, and Acai. Nice ambiance for a breakfast place; relaxed.

Awesome Acai bowls and fresh juices. If only they had more vegetarian options for sandwiches I’d give them 5 stars.

This used to be my go-to place for acai bowls in PB. The quality seems to be lacking in the products lately. Yesterday I have a very disappointing acai bowl experience. I ordered the PB bowl and the acai tasted freezer burnt. The fruit didn’t taste ripe. It was just bland. Parking is hit or miss. It’s a small lot and it’s right by the beach, so you never know how it’s going to be on the weekend. I like the atmosphere inside. It’s a very cute place with jungle vibes. I just wish they would kept the quality of their food up…

Waited a really long time for my Popeye wrap. Which they messed up on. Then had to wait another 10 more minutes. They were not even busy. Only 2 customers came in after me and ordered acai bowls which are made up front. When I finally got my order which I’m pretty sure they just deconstructed my messed up order and threw those eggs on my new order. The menu states egg whites which was not true. *check the photo

Randomly stumbled into this place after a day at the beach and was very much pleasantly surprised! Very casual vibe(it’s practically right on the sand), really refreshing menu items. I ordered the Island Breeze smoothie and finished the whole thing within minutes, it was so good. And I didn’t feel guilty about it because there was only fruit and fruit juice in it(no frozen yogurt or anything like that). My friends all ordered Acai bowls and were equally satisfied. The fruit was super fresh too. It was a little crowded but despite being busy and having a bit of line, we really did not have to wait long at all. I would definitely go back again if I were in the area and crazing a frozen refreshment post-beach.

I see an acai bowl! #sopunny Acai bowl: nutritious, got the rasta bowl and it was good, everything tastes fresh, but nothing spectacular stood out to me other than the granola they used. The acai blend was more frozen than I liked, but other than that this is a nice place to grab an Acai bowl for ~$ 6 for a small. Interior: cool jungle themed place, and has that rasta feel too. Cool decorations and appropriate for its name.

Wonderful and great service. They stored what we wanted to take home in the fridge until we left. Yummy fresh fruit I’m bowls with Acai! You must try if you r in San Diego! My husband is trying to figure out how to come before we go to the airport! Also got the super healthy Acerola Smoothie which is up to 80 times more vitamin C!

Friendly staff, clean place. Treehugger Acai bowl for me and kale smoothie with added protein for husband. I asked if they could blend more greens into my bowl but was told«that wouldn’t taste good.» Not really the answer I was looking for but oh well and don’t think that should be a reply to someone who actually likes greens. :) Just tell me you can’t do it if it’s not protocol. There were minimal greens in the Treehugger(more like just a topping) but it was super tasty.

I was in the area and was craving a smoothie. When I passed this place, I didn’t realize right away it was a smoothie spot. The name made it sound like a bar of some sort. I’m glad I came in though! The inside is decorated with an islander theme and ther’s lots of seating and tables available. I ordered my first wheatgrass shot, which was sweet at first with a super bitter after taste but I guess it’s super healthy for you so I’ll keep taking it. I also got the rum jungle bowl which had acai topped with bananas, granola, hempseeds(I think) and honey! It was the most DELICIOUS thing I’ve tried there! I would definitely get it again. Matter of fact, I’m craving it RIGHTNOW. Oh why must this place be so far from me? :”(#firstworldproblems I also got the treehugger smoothie which had a dark brown color to it, it had a hint of sweet, but the ginger made it taste like a smoothie I’ve never before had in my life — ever. It wasn’t bad — just different. My hubby got the green machine juice which had a strong«Healthy» taste to it as well. Overall, this place gets a lil *too* healthy for me but I’d definitely come back again for that rum jungle bowl!!! So delicious.

Wt actual f was going on here today? My tree hugger smoothie came out bitter & lacking in the sweet fruits it’s known for(strawberries, bananas). I sent it back for the very first time in my years of coming here. It came out the same way the second time, so when I left, I trashed it. Yes, threw $ 7+ in the garbage. I don’t need unenjoyable food/drink from here, or anywhere else. I took it b/c when the server brought it to me, he said loudly, «why don’t you taste it to make sure it’s right this time». I was taking it to go so I declined since it was wrapped in its butcher paper. Like I said earlier, this was the very first time I ever sent anything back at all from here. I work out upstairs, and usually get a power smoothie afterwards. Whoa! There was a whole new crew of people who have no training working there and were running around in a chaotic pace.(It was not busy at that time.) Apparently, the tuna sando is now a tuna melt and is supposed to come with the usual pepperocini and cranberries, only it has added cheese. First problem: it came out on a plate(I asked for it to-go). Listening skills go a long way in knowing what the customer ordered. I told the guy when he arrived with it on a plate that it was supposed to be «to-go», and he took it back to wrap it up. Second problem: it was not albacore tuna; I know the difference. Come on. Customers know the difference. Third problem: it was missing both cranberry and or pepperocini. Fourth problem: it had waaay too much mayo(ratio was off big time). Fifth problem: got sooo sick after eating the sandwich, and now I’m glad I didn’t drink the smoothie I threw away. If I hadn’t gotten sick from the food, I would’ve dismissed the lack of service because I like the owners and they’re really nice. Anyway, to me, that’s not enough. You shouldn’t be getting sick. It sometimes helps with a little help from your regulars. Just thought the owners should know cause there were none of the owners familiar faces around that day. I was really disappointed for the first time and I can tell you I’ve been here very often for years. One time is understandable. 2 times is distressing. 3 times you’re done. Doubt I will be back :/

Note that there is actually no rum here. came here on a Sunday afternoon and a bunch of people looking to drink walked in yelling, «awesome! More rum and beer!» and left disappointed realizing that the name threw them off! Haha But let me tell you, if you come here looking for an acai bowl, you will not be disappointed! My new go to spot for them… and possibly even smoothies! Such a cute place with a reggae vibe and it’s right near the beach! It’s also in a little plaza that has it’s own parking lot which is great if you’re just stopping by for a quick bite. I believe it’s free parking for 30 mins. Anyways! Plenty of acai bowls to choose from. You can also make any of them a pitaya bowl if you’d like. I got a small Tree Hugger which was an acai bowl blended with spinach and ginger topped with strawberries, bananas, flax seeds, granola and the best honey I’ve ever had… best acai bowl I’ve ever had! The texture was spot on, not too runny and ginger added such a nice little kick. My friend didn’t like it, but me being such a high ginger lover, I enjoyed it very much. Never would’ve thought. wish I had gotten a large! Totally recommend. My friend got an Aloha fruit bowl! Basically the same thing as the Hawaiian bowl, but served in a an actual pineapple. It was pretty good also. It was topped with mangos, pineapple, granola and shredded coconut. It seems pretty huge, but she was able to finish it by herself. Will def stop by again to try some of their other bowls, sandwiches, wraps and smoothies!

Boyfriend and I were hungry and he suggested acai bowls! We traveled down the street to Rum Jungle after he said he tried it and thought the bowls were really tasty! Parking lot is a bit snug but, luckily we were able to snag a great spot! Rum Jungle uses the sidewalk as a makeshift patio, which is totally fine, with a few tables and chairs. The inside is Hawaiian themed and laid back. We ordered the PB acai bowl and what was supposed to the the Hawaiian pitaya bowl but ended up just being a pitaya pb bowl. A real bummer since I was looking forward to what I had ordered –_– … Bowls came out quick which was nice considering it had become busy since we arrived. We chose to eat there. The bowls were definitely tasty I just wish maybe there was more granola! We look forward to coming back and trying out the other goodies on the menu! :)

Came in here with a buddy and I got the Himalayan acai bowl in a large. It was probably the best acai bowl I’ve had. I haven’t had many to start but it was very good. We sat outside and throughly enjoyed the sun. When we were ordering the cashier who was taking our order kept on talking to another employee and had to ask us to keep on repeating ourselves which was annoying.

I almost don’t even want to write a review for this place because it is my secret«best acai bowl» spot in San Diego. But I do want them to stick around for when I am starving coming off Pacific Beach… SO! Very. Very. Tasty Acai Bowls. With. Very. Very. Fresh. Fresh Fruit. I always get the Aloha with EXTRA granola. And I am always happy. Eat it at the sea wall by the bar, it is fun people watching, and if late enough a great place to watch the sunset. Wishing I was there at this moment to make new memories!

I have nothing but praise for Rum Jungle! This place is such a cute family establishment that I did not expect to come across several years ago in this shopping center on the border of Mission Beach /Pacific Beach. I have enjoyed coming to Rum Jungle for 3 years now, and there is not one thing that I have tried on the menu that I have not absolutely loved. My favorite smoothie would have to be the Reggae Smoothie, as it is the RJ Acai Smoothie with added peanut butter… honestly, it’s the greatest smoothie in the world as I did not think anything would be better than the normal RJ Acai Smoothie until they had the genius idea to make it even better with peanut butter. I am not sure if this is listed on their regular menu, though, so be sure to ask for it if you don’t see it! I also usually get a wheatgrass shot, as they make it freshly when you order it. Their specialty is most likely their bowls. They serve both Acai and Pitaya bowls with excellent fresh fruit and other ingredients such as granola(even hemp seed granola!), honey, and ginger in them. It was hard for me to find a great pitaya bowl in San Diego, as most breakfast and lunch places only offer acai, but pitaya is an even healthier option with less sugar(not to mention it’s a beautiful pink color!). Other breakfast items that I have tried and loved are the Power Wrap, Power Bowl, and Popeye Wrap. All of them are quite healthy, energizing breakfast choices if you are not in the mood for an acai or pitaya bowl. For lunch, my favorites are the Chipotle Wrap and the Chicken Caesar Wrap. Both of these are very tasty, and the chipotle sauce on the wrap is addicting. I also love to cover both of these wraps in Rum Jungle’s special hot sauce that is always sitting out… but be careful, it comes out very fast and is so so spicy! Rum Jungle also has a nice island-y vibe inside, and the walls were recently redone to improve the interior even more. Also, the people are always friendly and make the experience even more enjoyable than it already is because of the delicious food!
