I’ve been coming here for years and never had a bad experience until a few months ago, now I have a bad experience almost every time I go. There’s a woman who usually runs the drive-thru during the late afternoon(I don’t know her name, orange-ish hair with a feather tattoo on her neck), she is RUDE literally every time I decide to eat here. Not intentionally, but she literally has 0 customer service skills. Usually responds with«WHAT? or HUH?» when she can’t hear you. She’ll roll her eyes if you ask for anything extra, like limes or extra sauce. She’ll give you a dead stare while handing you your food, then shut the window. HOWDOESSHESTILLWORKHERE? I’ve tried being nice to her and smiling, telling her to have a nice day, but I usually get a response like«uh-huh.» It may not seem like a huge deal, but usually customer service is important for a business to have returning customers. I might start getting my Mexican food fix from somewhere else.

Love love love this place! Fish tacos for only 1.39 from Monday through Tuesday. Chicken flautas is also amazing! I love the fact it’s 24 hours. They have a lot of varieties to choose from and sometime we’ll get the combo meals which includes rice and beans. My son and I come here almost every Tuesday and we can get plenty of food for under 10 bucks. Love t here

I asked the guy working tonight 1÷28÷16 at least 4 times for carrots and he charged for them although he claims he dint, then when I called all he can say is «I don’t know why I didn’t» lack of customer service and employee should be reprimanded

Order inside! The workers are a lot friendly in person. I try to avoid going through the drive thru because my orders end up wrong. I only come for their tj tacos — it’s so good!

Went through the drive thru last night at 2:30a…and they were closed!!! Even though the sign says 24⁄7??? Went on another occasion and they over changed us $ 20! Had to call the owner and come back the next day for a refund! Very poor service! Restaurant should be closed!

Go to trujillos down the street. Just do it. Not very big portions, sloppy burritos, and just not as tasty. I think santanas deserves a 3 star rating because of their food alone NOT their workers. Clean place though and defiantly edible. But if you know where u are, walk to trujillos

too bad this place isn’t better, it’s very close to my home and is a drive thru. Ordered a chicken taco recently and could NOT believe that it was in some kind of pre made store bought shell, and the chicken had a gross bbq type sauce on it. yuck. Carne Asada burrito not much better, the meat had a gray look to it. I won’t likely go back.

8.20 for a full size carne asada fries definitely not worth the price at all fries were old A… carne asada was flavorless and they fill it up with 80% fries 20% meat definitely will not eat here again the only thing they have going is that there open 24⁄7 but too expensive for bad flavorless food

Accedentally wrote this review for another shop near by with a similar name once. but tonight i went to write another bad one and realized it was THIS shop that has fucked up nearly every order I’ve placed. Asked for a burrito with potatos, but specifically said NOT french fries… guess what i got in my burrito… m effing french fries. I’d like to like this place because they are open 24⁄7 and close to the pad… but how do you mess up a bean cheese and rice burtito??? How? Well you could do what this place did and give me a rolled rice quesadilla with maybe a couple table spoons of beans… beans should have been the main part of a bean and cheese burrito with rice… if I wanted a lot of cheese I would have ordered a quesadilla. Another thing I just can’t understand is how in the world they think it’s ok to ruin a chilli relleno by not removing the seeds from the peppers. I though it might be an accedent, but no I ordered it again and had the same problem. … its a bummer to be excited to take your food home and be so dissapointed that it wasn’t made right… the food is edible but it seems like they have some incompetent people assembling burritos.

I dont even know if i ever want to come back here again! I have order aquachile and when they gave it to me… all the juice spill out of the box onto the bag. And they didnt give me no tostadas with it. And i also order 5 roll tacos. I have made it clear to her that i wanted everything in it. I was so damn hungry. By the time i got home getting ready to eat. The fuckin roll tacos only had cotija cheese on the top and that was it. That aint no damn roll taco without quacamole and other stuff. Omg!!! They seems like they have no experience at all, and it take them about 30 minute til i get the food. My son was so hungry and this is what we get. Bow ridiculous!!!

I have been here many times(usually late at night after drinking, so this review could be tainted because of that), but the food is always yummy! I feel like recently the prices have gone up a bit which is a bummer. I recently ordered food for 4 people and our total was over $ 40. I was pretty shocked. Like what taco shop comes out to that much just for food, no drinks?! Either way I’m sure I will return at some point for the rolled tacos at 2 am.

The food here is always so good and never disappoint me. The Carne asada fries are what I normally get and is always delicious. I usually don’t like rolled tacos but I tried some of my boyfriend’s and I actually liked it. I know there are a lot of Mexican places but this is my favorite one!

This place is under new ownership, or management or something. I went there I got tacos & they came in those terrible Ortega shells you get at the grocery store, and the questionable quesadilla was full of what I’m pretty sure were kraft singles of jack cheese. F-that. If I want something from the Mexican isle in the grocery store, I’ll pay less and go there.

My sisters brought me here for a Mexican food fix and I was more than happy with my meal. Flautas with the works hit the spot and made for a happy camper. The salsa selection is fun and the carrots were spic-ay! They fixed me a half diet/half regular drink when I asked and that made me happy. If I lived or worked nearby, this might go into regular rotation. It still amazes me how easy and delicious Mexican food is pretty much everywhere you go in SD… not that it surprises me at all, but it still amazes me! East coast has some wonderful food offerings, but nothing like the slew of Mexican yumminess that you find here at places like Santana’s. So, my complaint, albeit small was that we had a fairly large group and I wish the seating was a little more accommodating, but I’ll tell you what… not a table, bench or chair will easily walk out of that place. All firmly fixed to the ground!

Granted I’ve only been here twice, but each time I’ve gotten great food(Achiote Burrito is a new favorite) and the service has been great. Very friendly people, both to me and to the other customers there with me. Honestly, these people are saints with a few of the customers they had to deal with. Just the normal mix of consumers, some of whom think they can behave badly because they’re on this side of the counter. Great food: you get what you expect when you order. Haven’t tried but a few things on the menu, but haven’t NOT liked anything yet. Definitely a new regular spot for me.

This was my first time going to Santana’s and let me say it will not be my last. I went through at 3:30am and got an American sausage burrito and it was the most amazing bfast burrito I’ve had. I found my new go to place after work now. The only downfall is the service was pretty slow, but well worth the wait. And the cashier gave me a free Pepsi(I assume cuz he knew I waited a long time). I can’t wait to go back and get more. Oh and bring cash cuz they charge extra for using a card.

One of my favorite San Diego Mexican food joints I will drive the extra miles for Santana’s — yep, they have items I like that are that good. Do not forget the carrots

It’s right next to the apartment complex where I live so it’s very convenient when I get a craving for Mexican food. Their carne asada fries are okay. I’ve had better but they satisfy my cravings when I don’t feel like driving. This is also one of the Mexican places that serve tacos de tripas, which are intestines. It’s really good!!! For the real foodies out there… TRYIT! They have a lot of sauces, but a lot of sauces when you dine-in. But a lot fo them seem to be watered down with not much flavor. But, as I mentioned it’s very convenient so I’ll still come back.

I tend to be very picky with ordering Mexican food. Growing up Mexican, I have eaten and tried it all, that sometimes it’s a huge disappointment going to one for a craving. I live next to Santana’s and I never really liked them it’s not it’s bad but just throughout the years certain items have not been up to par on taste and quality that I question myself each time I come through here. It’s 24 hours which is nice and even Bette that I can just walk there in no less than 3 mins. But, it’s pretty ghetto to go at night. Their sauces aren’t that great despite having a large variety of different kinds. Their quesadilla can be very oily and greasy! Yuck! Only recently I found that they serve tripas(cow intestines) my favorite! This the the first taco shop hat serves it other than Tijuana and few places down south.
