This is the only place my boyfriend & I will go to. We had 4 of our cars tinted here & each time, we are thrilled about how great the tint turns out. Even years later, the color does not fade & there are no bubbles.
I came here last week to get my Saleen Mustang tinted & Travis helped me decide on which tint to put on my car since the brand I used before was discontinued. Bless his heart, my OCD kicked in & I asked him a thousand questions but he was patient with me & I was beyond ecstatic with my choice after I saw my car! Tint was completely smooth & there were no imperfections.

Travis and crew are awesome. It’s the only place I’ll take my vehicles (Tesla, BMW M5, Audi S4). I recommend him anytime my friends or family are looking to get anything done to their cars.

Second car tinted here. Again excellent job, wouldn’t go anywhere else. You get what you pay for, the end result here is clearly above all others. Would bring my next car here no question.

Travis was great and his shop did a great job on my tint and springs install. He completed everything when he said he would, was always polite and professional and was great to talk with regarding future upgrades.

Found SD Motorsports through Unilocal so decided I would leave a review. First thing you notice walking into the shop is how clean and organized everything is. Travis met me at the front and discussed tint options for my Charger. No up sale pushy stuff just the facts. I ended up with tint all around including the windshield and a spoiler installation. Immediately noticed while picking up the car was the tint looked amazing! No bubbles, weird imperfections or crap stuck between the tint and the glass. The car looks amazing and Travis’ input made what I had in my mind come to life. Will use these guys from now on!

Wanted to get tints done on my car. Quality of work was very important to me. Did some research and saw SD Motorsports reviews on Unilocal and decided to go with this company. Called in and talked to Travis and scheduled an appointment for following week. He suggested that I do 3M tints done. Did not want the car to be very dark but at same time wanted that it provide some sun protection and privacy. Went in and waited about 3 hours for the tints to get done. The place was bit pricey compared to other place but the quality of work was great and so as the customer service.

Super nice and quick! Had to have my front window tint removed due to a annoying ticket those ugly bike trolls give. The guys were friendly and quick. Seems to be a spot for really fancey cars as there were a few parked outside. Cool ambience in the waiting area. If I ever get my shit together and get a grown up car I would bring it here!

Wanted to add some performance parts to my Audi so I gave SD Motorsports and I spoke to Travis. He was amazing gave me solid advice and guided me in the right direction. He never over sold me and was not pushy. Highly recommend SD and fed ask for Travis.

I was a first time customer a few days go. I wanted to wait for my tint to dry before writing my review. Well its dry and not one water bubble in sight. From a personal experiance SD Motorsports does legit work. I will definitely come back if I need an future tint work done.

Came back to see Travis after a year or so, and tint master Jason helped get my new 10 window hybrid a 3M tint job. I couldn’t help myself and had Mike and Travis lower my ride on b&gs (amazing btw). I dropped it off Monday morning without any prior appointment on a whim, and had the car slammed and looking amazing within 24 hours. 50 Mpgs and looking good while doing it.

If you need to wrap modify powder coat race out/​track prep go call Travis first. Don’t call tag don’t call hg because everything those guys can’t fix, Travis will — some food for thought
I’ve scoured far and wide for ten years in San Diego and no one will ever work on my cars except Travis and his crew. Why? They know their stuff. Really well.

I had my fourth car tinted here and so this review is long overdue. Travis and the rest of the crew provide outstanding service and high quality work! You can just see and feel the pride in workmanship they have here. This is a high end auto shop that is adding more and more services every time I go there. Not just tint but powder coating wheels, selection of rims, engine mods, and more. You won’t be disappointed… get a discount if you’re paying in cash.

So I tried to schedule an appointment with this company only to find out that they are in the auto business and want to keep banker’s hours. Actually worse than bankers because banks now close at 6pm in response to consumers’ needs. Not Travis. If you work the old 9 – 5 you will have to take off work to use this guy. He claims to be open on Saturdays, but the first one I tried to book he had no openings. The second one I had an appointment and he called to cancel it claiming his «employee» had a family thing to go to.
Even if this was true (which I highly doubt) a five star Unilocal company does not reschedule someone especially after not getting them in the week before. A five star Unilocal company tells their employee to get his ass to work or find another job. Or if it’s the truth, the company finds a back up to do the work. Or the company apologizes profusely to the customer, begs their forgiveness, and reschedules them for ANY time that works for the customer. None of these things happened with Travis. His attitude was pretty much «go f@&$ yourself if you don’t like it». He didn’t even offer an explanation at all until I made it clear I was not moving forward until he explained it to me.
Well, Unilocal is what happens when you run your business like that. Oh, and btw all you yippin’ Unilocalers, this company must have some crazy bribery thing or something going on because all of its MANY one star reviews are conveniently «not recommended», so you probably won’t be reading this anyway.

Some background info:
I hate being hot. Price is no object in my quest to stay cool. Bought a townhouse near the ocean and replaced all the windows with double pane low-​E glass which keeps out heat in the summer. When I bought my car it had no tint and I got hot when the sun shined on me through the windows. I put very light Greystone CR 70 grade tint on the front 2 windows and I only got warm when the sun hit me. The back 3 windows had Greystone CR 40 grade tint which was limo dark and sitting back there you could barely feel the sun. The problem with my Civic is the front windshield is huge and sloped so a ton of sunlight hits the dashboard and me so often I got hot from sunlight coming through the windshield.
Last year I was driving to Palm Springs alot and was getting really hot even with the AC set to maximum. I did research on the net and found out 3M had released a Crystalline series of window tint which had the highest heat rejection rating I had ever seen.
Cut to now:
It’s summer. I’m getting hot driving around. I call SD Motorsports and they squeeze me in at the last minute for a early morning appointment. 2 hours and $ 350 later my front windshield is tinted with 3M Crystalline CR 70 grade tint. They did an excellent job on the install. Looking through the windshield is much like looking through the front side windows. The heat rejection is about the same as sitting in the backseat behind the Greystone CR 40 limo grade tint.
To summarize:
3M Crystalline tint is expensive and does an excellent job keeping me and my car cool.
SD Motorsports provided excellent customer service and did a great job tinting my windshield.

Desperate. That’s the word I described myself when I first contacted SD Tint. The owner, Travis, picked up the phone and listened as I described a horrible tinting experience I had at another tinting shop. Every single window had excessive trapped dirt and bubbles all over, with two large windows whose tint did not cover the edges. Unable to get an appropriate response and assistance from the other tinting company, I consulted SD Tint because I wanted to know if my concerns were valid or I am simply overprotective.
Thank god for Travis. Travis made time out of his extremely busy schedule to take a look at my car that morning — within the hour I called. Travis was downright knowledgeable, and he immediately listed every problem the tint had. Until then I was still in debate whether my tint work was truly as horrible as I thought. After Travis’s evaluation I knew I should’ve trusted my gut feeling earlier and investigated. Because there were three other cars (did I say there were Ferrari and Lamborghini?) in the shop when I arrived for the consultation, I was able to see first hand Travis’s work. Impressed, I asked Travis for a quote for tint removal and tinting. I drive my family back and forth to school, and they depend on my car for safety so I needed this fixed ASAP.
They fit me into their schedule within 48 hours despite an overbooked schedule and stayed after hours to fix the tinting on my car. When it was done, all the problems were gone, and it looked absolutely spectacular. I mean, there were simply no better words to describe Travis’s work besides PERFECT.
It’s been 3 months since my car got tinted at SD Tint, and it still looks PERFECT today. Thank you Travis for delivering perfection, and for the rest of my life — you will have my loyalty and our family looks forward to many more cars tinted by you.

Pretty disappointed after getting one of my windows tinted at this shop (had to get one of my windows replaced due to a breakage hence the need to get only one window tinted).
They agreed to match the tint level with my other window but very clearly the the tint seems to be of a different level. Brought it to their attention but the person at the desk couldn’t be bothered to come take a look at my car outside.
Not going to SD tint again.

Believe the ratings! These guys did a wonderful job tinting my windows on my Audi. An immediate improvement to the looks and minimized the heat factor significantly inside the car. A little more pricey than most — but a lifetime warranty and the quality of work was just amazing! Got before and after picts posted. Travis was GREAT! VERY HELPFUL!!!

Had my front windows tinted with Suntek film. It costs a little extra, but you can tell a difference with the heat/​sun coming through the windows. Ask for Jason, he did an amazing job! Great & quick service! I highly recommend this place if you want quality work.

Two cars done in two days and they did a REALLY nice job on both cars. Maybe not the cheapest, but they do excellent work at a fair price and so far… we’re very happy.
Hint: Listen to their advise on tints and plan on leaving your car all day.
