I hired SD Moving Company today and they were great! Chris and«Oklahoma» were very professional, diligent, hard working and a pleasure to work with. I will gladly call this company next time I have something to move. Great experience!

I engaged SD movers to move me from Ramona to Murrieta(Move date 11⁄24). I had used the company before when I moved 3 years ago so I was pretty comfortable with my choice. My moving crew was composed of 3 guys; George, Dele, and Ken. The crew was great. They explained everything up front, took great care of my things, and put everything back together at the new house. In addition, they were very accommodating regarding where I wanted them to put the boxes. If every company had the customer service level that these 3 gentlemen provided, I would be a very happy camper. Thanks SD Movers!

Just finished up with the SD Moving Company this evening. I did a local move(rancho Bernardo down to pacific beach) but didn’t have enough able bodies to move some of the heavier/bulkier things. Quick Google search showed me these guys were close to the old house and a quick phone call got me an appointment the next day. I asked for 2 guys and a truck, it was $ 75 an hour. I asked for 4 hours because of traffic and the stairs at the old place. The guys showed up on time and got straight to work. The listened to my requests to be super careful with my wife’s antique dresser and mirror, they wrapped it with moving blankets until you probably could’ve thrown it down the stairs. They also helped take apart my bed and put it back together at my new place. Overall sd moving company did a good job, are competitively priced, had great availability, and took the level of care that my stuff deserved. If I’m ever in the market for another moving company, they’ll be my first choice.

I waited a few weeks to write my review. Because this was a local move(from UTC to Serra Mesa), they charged by the hour($ 95/cash; $ 99/credit). My experience with 5 moves over the past 4 years has been less than ideal. I’ve done long distance moves(Northern California to Indianapolis… to Honolulu… to Houston… to San Diego) and one local move. You get what you pay for. I knew from experience that a bid based on the size of my apartment wouldn’t give me an accurate bid due to the number of boxes and bins that I have. Therefore, over the course of 2 weeks, I moved 95% of my boxes myself(I was fortunate that my current place allowed me to store the boxes/bins in the garage prior to move in since the apartment was vacant). SD Moving charges a minimum of 3 hours. Therefore, all I wanted them to do was move my furniture and re-set it up. They accomplished that in 3 hours. I appreciated the fact that they did not dilly dally around and stayed busy the whole time. My experience also was that although the carpet is cleaned before move in, by time movers leave, it is filthy. Therefore, I requested that they cover the carpeting and they did. My only ‘complaint’ is that they really aren’t proficient at re-assembly. However, that being said, they repaired(at no extra cost to me of course) a lamp that they disassembled and then broke. Most other companies would have just told me to file a claim and collect my measly .60 per pound. I had looked into getting the full insurance on the move, but it didn’t cover loading/unloading…so what was the point?! Anyway, I would use this company again. You just have to be a savvy customer :-)

TONSOFPAPERWORK — which I don’t mind. BUT at the end they point to you signing off that NOTHINGWASDAMAGED. They are in a hurry to leave, ask for a tip. Hired 3 men. Worked their bottoms off. 2 were nice the third was gruff. Damaged my dining table edges, a $ 200 industrial chair from World Mart has a big chip in the center of the seat. Custom Paint in my new place was scratched to the point where I need to paint entire wall. Price paid was literally doubled what was quoted. Owner said he’s throw in 3 miles. NOTTRUE. Said they work for Russian Men and they only make $ 10 per hour. Is that really my business? I wish I had the piles of paperwork PRIOR to the morning of the actual move. Won’t hire again.
