If you’re downtown late after the bars close this is the taco shop you hope to end up in. Carne asada tacos and rolled tacos are all you need to know. Convenient if you take the 2 busroute also.

Fresh, spicy, economical, I loved the taquitos! This is the perfect place to pop in for a quick bite an grub down a fast plate of rolled tacos piled high with all the fixin’s. I tried to stop by again the next day but it was closed. Definitely recommended!

I like this place, very traditional food, no fuss, authentic just like you get in Mexico. It’s that simple! I wrote this a few days ago, now I want more!!! «I’ll be back»

Fish tacos are bomb. Taquitos are too skinny and won’t fill you up. Ill get the carne asada nachos for a late night craving but if Lolitas is open… id much rather go there for all my Downtown Mexican binges.

I got 4 tacos: fish, carne asada, lengua(tongue), and suadero. All were double tortillas filled with meat, salsa, and a sauce, and of course you could embellish with as much of your own extra toppings as you want(e.g. pickled jalapeños, onions, carrots & radishes, salsas, etc). Although they’re not quite as large or gourmet as tacos from a more proper restaurant(that are usually $ 3.50-$ 4.50 each), for only $ 1.75 theirs are fresh made with fair portions of meat, they definitely fit the bill for cheap, quick, and decent taco joint served by a friendly staff, right in the middle of the popular GasLamp district. I’d definitely go back again.

I have ordered from them so many times since my first review. They have become my go-to Mexican delivery/late night spot. I get a vegan burrito with extra rice every time, and it’s pretty damn good. Ordered churros this time to round out the $ 20 delivery minimum and those are super duper good! It is the FASTEST delivered food downtown. It usually takes less than 30 minutes. Yes, the guac is the liquid kind, and the salsa isn’t the tastiest I’ve ever had, but everything else is spot on. Open late, good prices, delivery option, dependably fast, good quality — I’m a fan!

Only good if you can’t walk or über anywhere else. Stopped in here Halloween night after dancing and drinking in the Gaslamp. Food took a while to get out and the portions were so sad compared to typical hole in the wall taco shops. We all got carne asada fries but it was hardly enough to share. Have yet to try the tacos. Food was decent, but definitely not a great value. Another thing to note — the workers here are not Mexican. Would only eat here after a night of heavy drinking.

Our office just moved nearby; noticed some really good reviews for this little hole-in-the-wall taco shop(and some really bad reviews), but in the market for a breakfast burrito, so gave it a try. Unfortunately, I have to agree w/the bad reviews. It was not good. Had a funky, rancid flavor. Will not be back.

5stars+++ So tasty and flavorful. I just devoured 3 tacos instantly, and was immediately in heaven. I have had many tacos at many places, but this place has a fantastic low price of $ 1.79 each taco and it does not disappoint. The guys working there are nice and courteous. The meal was made quickly and was fresh. It is right off Broadway and 4th Ave, so my walk from Market and 3rd Ave was long but soo worth it. I recommend it.

Won’t be back, Shrimp burrito just didn’t taste good at all. Fish burrito was 50% tortilla. Pickled carrots were way too thick. Dr.pepper was flat.

This review is solely for the California burrito. Fries inside a delicious and warm burrito with great quality meat and veggies at 2AM. I love you, Señor. You deserve better.

Just came in here for a California burrito and the food was adequate at best. The service was rude and the owner was the person who helped me. He didn’t seem interested in taking my order. I don’t recommend this place at all.

I won’t be back. I live in San Diego — the one thing I expected other than sunny days is outstanding Mexican food. This was not it. Guacamole is liquid and tasteless — it’s gringo guac mixed with sour cream. Unacceptable in San Diego! Salsas are liquid and have no personality. The shrimp in the shrimp taco are tiny cold bay shrimp that tasted canned. The fish in the fish taco was not crispy and was bland. The rolled tacos were fine except for, again, the ridiculous guacamole. The carna asada was eh. Average. So it’s not that the food is gross — it’s that it’s boring and subpar. Atmosphere is dive Mexican hole in the wall, but seemed clean. Service was nice and friendly. Prices were fine.

This place deserves more than 3.5 stars. I got the California Burrito. There was a little tough fat in there but overall it was a very good meal. Granted, the california burrito isn’t really a mexican dish. But, I had the pico de gallo that is a part of their free salas bar. Top notch. This huge wrap was cheap and delicious. The fries and sauce in there were nice and crispy and complex in flavor. Yea, I didn’t get my water cup the first time I asked, but I’m ok with that. The service was helpful enough. I’d go here again.

Found this taco shop on Unilocal today. Had great reviews so for lunch we gave it spin Very small place maybe 700sf two tables and about 10 bars stools. They place makes real Mexican food! the food is fresh and hot. Carne is not pre made sitting around waiting for an order. Cooked right in front of us. Check out the side bar great carrots, hot salsa, radishes, limes anything you can think of putting on a taco or burrito. Super service and pretty clean place for as old and as small as it is. To this new place thumbs up for lunch for sure!!!

This place was definitely better than I thought it would be. It’s not greasy yuckie mexican food at all. They only have 2 salsas but they cooked up fresh fried peppers for us while we were waiting. And the tostadas are great, not to mention that they know how to fold up 1 edge so that you have something to hold on it while eating them.

3.5 stars I got three rolled tacos with chicken and they were pretty good. There was way too much lettuce piled on top; guac was really watered down, it was basically a green liquid. Otherwise it was fresh and I did appreciate having the option of chicken instead of the typical beef. Service was very fast and friendly.

First off… OLE for being open into the wee hours of the night! Just when I needed you, Señor Taquero! The guy behind the counter was so nice and friendly, really helpful too. I needed a taco or two and I couldn’t decide(as usual) so he said I could mix my tacos and get one of each. Well, in that case, I’ll have 3 and try all the ones I was curious to try! So, 3 tacos is what I had. Basically that’s what my review is about too. Just great service, perfect hours and DELICIOUS tacos!!! Small little place, so don’t plan on going in to get comfy and stay a while. Loads of items on that menu too. I sat down next to a guy and I asked him if he was a regular, he said he’d just moved to San Diego a week ago but that he’d been to Señor Taquero’s FOUR times during that week! Whoa! I was so ready to try these tacos after hearing that! Here are the 3 that I tried: ** Birria: which typically are my faves however I’ve never had beef birria(normally I have the goat) but it was really great beef, he said it’s beef shoulder and cooked in the yummy tradiitonal birria style. Very juicy and full of flavor, loved this taco. It was my favorite. :) ** Adobado: I was looking forward to this one the most. Marinated pork with pineapple. Pretty good but a little dry and not a whole lot of flavor. Maybe an off night? ** Shrimp: Loaded with lots of shrimp and a ranchero sauce, pretty Mmmm if you ask me. I’d have this one again too. So, SISENOR for late night tacos! I would recommend. There are lots of items on the menu and I don’t know how those are, but I really liked the tacos they hit the spot! CHEERS!!!
