Just tried the Jerk Burger for lunch and it was good, but very spicy and very expensive at $ 8.65 with tax. Also, the mango salsa had very hard unripened mango in it, which was not great. On the bright side, the burger patty itself was high quality, tender/juicy, cooked just right and yummy. The bun was soft and fresh. A couple of ladies next to me in line sampled the collard greens and were very impressed by it. The homemade tater tots looked good but I did not order them. They do have an «A» rating from the department of health and I am not sick so all is good.

This truck was out of most of the items on their menu. I ordered the fried pickles which I usually love, but they were super salty. Maybe I just caught this truck on a bad day, but I was not impressed.

I arranged with Soul Cal Pit Stop to come to my event so that attendees could conveniently purchase breakfast and lunch. I also had them cater my group’s lunches at the same event. Working with the owner, Laura, was extremely pleasant, efficient and clear. They had our catered food ready exactly when I had asked, and it was all delicious. We got the BBQ chicken, BBQ beef, baked beans, and potato salad. I really appreciated that they were willing to make things less spicy for those in our group who could not handle the jerk seasoning. Their breakfast burritos also got rave reviews at our event. They are huge and hot and quite filling! Maybe even enough for two people! Their food is not complicated, but it is prepared well and with a lot of thought and care. AND it is tasty. I would not hesitate to ask Soul Cal to attend a future event that I host. They were great!
