I purchased a groupon for this truck. I’d really like to try their tortas however they have no concept of transparency to the public on where they will be. Quite a few times I have tried to find their truck at their scheduled location(Website has a Google calender) and They are no where to be found. Normally I will drive 30 – 45 minutes each way, to only be disappointed with no truck to be found. I tried to go today, for example. Based on their google calender: They should have been at Belching Beaver in Vista CA — 40 minutes from my house in Poway. I got there at 12:15PM and no truck. Drove my GF to Sonics because she was too hungry to wait. Stopped into Rocket Fizz, and headed back to the Belching beaver at 1:15PM and STILL no truck. At this point I’m just pissed off and have lost all interest in this food truck. If you want a really good torta, the best I’ve found in San Diego so far is at the Taco Bar in San Marcos. Just finished eating their Pastor Torta. Maybe one day they will read this review and learn to check their social media accounts and update them with scheduling information/cancellations. It takes 10 seconds. If you check their facebook I’ve literally spammed their wall asking about where they will be — Just keeps falling on deaf ears.

My first torta here was amazing, but that was 6 months ago. I went again tonight and had the«El Toro»(carne asada) torta and it was mediocre and not worth the money. It was big, but what’s the point of having more mediocre food than you want? For $ 9 I was expecting a better quality of meat and better salsa. The carne asada was bland and chewy. I gave most of it to my dog(who gave it 5 stars) but he’s a TJ dog and will eat anything. The salsa was runny, bland, and didn’t jive with the torta. It had a good spice level, but that’s about it. The rest of the ingredients were fine, but the meat and salsa is where the excellence should be.

Dined with Tortally Tasty at the Mission Valley Food Truck meet up. Not only does it have a punny name but it has delicious(and may I add, HUGE) tortas with creative variety. I opted for the El Toro which was a tasty blend of Asada, guac, pico de gallo, lettuce, and a sauce. WOW. It was really packed with flavor. The bun was a perfect torta bun; soft but not chewy. I had to knock a star off for the level of sodium in the torta, though. Seemed like they went a little salt heavy on certain components of the torta(mostly the asada). Which made my tastebuds beg for moisture. Luckily they have a Unilocal check– in deal that awards the Unilocaler a free drink… woohoo! My partial star deduction is also because the woman who took our order, although nice, had no idea about the Unilocal deal and took almost 10 minutes on our phones getting confused by the follow up questions. Rookie! Great food truck food though, I’ll be back if I get the chance.

I got the Carne Asada Fries, as an after dinner add on, minus the guacamole. They were ok. Not utterly amazing, like I expected them to be for $ 8. They were good, but not spectacular.

This is the second they come to our work site. So far, I’ve tried the Mediterranean Torta last week which was delicious, and today, I grubbed on the El Gallo… soooo delicious!!! Totally recommend them!!!

I had the John Wayne and it was delicious! My only complaint was that there wasnt enough bacon on it, but when is there ever enough bacon on anything? Would definitely try the other varieties. I like that they switched it up and the choices you have are not traditional tortas(example pulled pork and greek options)

I enjoyed a very good carne asada torta from this accurately named truck at the La Mesa Curbside Food Truck gathering. First, I have to say I was very pleased how nice the two Mexican native ladies were at this truck. Their laughs and personalities were contagious. The torta was called to «El Toro» and it came handsomely filled with well seasoned carne asada that had just the right amount of tenderness for this torta: not to soft not chewy, just right.( ) They added this mayo and Sriracha mix that was absolutely perfect for this torta. Its flavor was great and it had just the right amount kick that left a gentle ting on my tongue.( ) I really enjoyed the bread because it lightly toasted and warm to the touch. A great torta. The one thing that I would suggest, would be that they better wrap the El Toro. I came with a good wrap, but it was not properly and tightly fitted around the torta, so some of the ingredients easily fell out. In fact, after a while I just got rid of it. I love a delicious tortally torta…

Hello Tortally Tasty!!! My were you tasty. Funny thing was I actually ordered the Cali burrito! Holy guacamole was it the bombdotcom! I am not exaggerating this burrito was big enough to feed two people! Literally. The flavor of everything was soooo good. I loved how they added season fries into the burrito. The carne asada itself was so tender, moist and full of flavor, I almost could not get enough. The salsas were great but I will have to say SALSAVERDE ftw~! The cleanliness of this food truck is really good which is a huge plus for me! I can not wait to try more!

I was enticed by the $ 6 for $ 10 of food deal and decided to try tortally tasty. I went with the«El Gallo.» 1. Unless you use the deal, you probably are overpaying. I used all $ 10 on the sand which and drink($ 9& $ 1, respectively). 2. That said, it is a lot of food, but not so much that one sand which would feed two(I am a pretty standard eater — double-double and fries fill me up) 3. The quality was pretty standard. Not the best sand which I have ever had; not the worst, either.

Worth every penny! We get some crummy food trucks that come through my work, this truck is not one of them! Unfortunately this one is only here on Tuesdays and I wish they would be here more often. Had their John Wayne which is just gluttonous. Their carne asada fries are a glorious heart attack in a paper tray. I had their Mediterranean tortas this afternoon and was not disappointed. The bread they use is soft and warm and a perfect compliment to any if their sandwiches(tortas), oh and their fries by themselves are incredible, too. Expect a line. You won’t be disappointed.

Meh, it was ok. I ordered the carne asado taco special and my husband ordered the el toro torta. We were disappointed in the lack if flavor in the carne in both dishes:(the hubby’s torta was soggy and the beef lacked flavor. The taco was bland. The guacamole was decent :)

Ordered El Toro and it was so delicious. I only ate half for lunch because the size was huge, but it was so good. Loved the bread!

Okay, seriously how delicious are these tortas!!! BEST torta I have ever had! No joke. My sister, brother-in-law, and I went to the food truck gathering last night off Camino Del Rio N and Mission Center Road(parking lot near Target at Mission Valley mall). There were couple a different trucks but we all wanted something from Tortally Tasty. I LOVE a good gyro so I ordered the Mediterranean. I thought to myself how good can it be, it’s just a basic gyro on a torta… my goodness was I wrong! The BESTEST gyro torta that my mouth has ever met! The fresh torta and ingredients brought it all together. Soo good! I didn’t finish my share because it was so huge but definitely a meal to share. Sister got the carne asada torta, and brother-in-law got the John Wayne(pulled porked w/bbq sauce and onion rings). Tried them both and they’re all bomb dot com!

oh my goodness! what great food. I had the Mediterranean torta, my husb had the carne asada, our friends had the tacos and everything was simply delicious! And such generous portions… I’d seek this truck out! And I won’t even go into the homemade potato chips, they were sooo good. Can’t wait to see the Totally Tasty Truck again. I’ll have to check my phone gps, so I can track this food truck. :-)

I just want to start off by saying… When you go to the Tortally Tasty food truck. and im sure you will. You need to get the«El Toro» it is so amazing. The Bread is soft and light, the Carne Asada is full of flavor, and the chepotle mayo has just the right kick! So please go to the link and check out where they will be next! You wont regret it!
