It’s unfortunate that the only place you can eat healthy food at in Mira mesa is also a buffet. The price is maybe just a couple bucks too much if you ask me, but honestly it’s all worth it in the end. Very laid back atmosphere here and the food is almost always kept hot and fresh. Really love this place, love to eat here and walk around Target afterwards. Perfect cheap date with me and my boo. 5 stars.

I used to go to soup plantation alot, but for some reason I haven’t gone in almost two years prior to two weeks ago. They have really updated and renovated the entire soup plantation brand. I remember when I first went to a Unilocal event a few years ago that was showing their new brand renovation. The renovation made soup plantation look alot more wholesome and hipster. Food is still the same though, they have a few new additions including gluten free muffins, and the low calories soups but other than that nothing else is new. Great place to come to make yourself eat lotsa veggies and no meat. I usually dont come here unless I have a coupon otherwise its not that worth it.

I love this place. I especially enjoy making a giant salad and getting it to go. They have a great selection of vegetables to choose from and they also offer soups and pasta. The cookies and muffins are always fresh and delicious as well. The frozen yogurt is great to with micro cones. Parking is plentiful and this location is massive so there’s never too long of a wait.

Not sure what has happened to this place, but it used to be so good, fresh and delicious. I find that within the past year while the interior and décor have improved, the food has not. The«fresh» options have dwindled quite a bit and the processed and not too healthy options have increased. Biscuits, muffins, pre-made salads/soups…just not very enjoyable anymore. I used to really love getting a nice big salad with lots of fresh veggies and toppings but now find that due to the lack of appealing and fresh options at the salad bar, trying to fill up on soup was better than the abundance of muffins, breads and cheese/cream based pastas offered. Don’t think I will be going back anymore.

My family loves it here. Unlimited soup, salad and edamame. The chicken noodle soup here is my favorite whereas my sister’s favorite is the clam chowder. Definitely try their strawberry lemonade because it’s made with real strawberries and you can even taste the strawberry pulp. I also always get the tuna terragon & broccoli madness. They current seasonal items are eggnog loaf or something(it’s good if you like eggnog) but I liked the candy cane muffin better. I didn’t get to try the sriracha udon soup because I was scared it’d be too spicy for me, but I did try the lobster curry bisque w/a biscuit and I didn’t like it. Lobster bisque + curry = why? Not my taste. There was another soup with pesto and pumpkin but I didn’t try that one either. At the salad bar, they had something similar to the tuna terragon; Cajun shells, and that was good, you should go and try it! The manager, Christina, the tall, skinny Asian cashier, and the smiley Mexican busboy(didn’t get their names, sorry) all provided excellent service.

My favorite restaurant is Souplantation. No Joke. This place is my special birthday restaurant because I just love how cheap and good their food is! The service here the other day was very good and I really love the selection of food. The restaurant itself is very clean as well. We stopped by Black Friday and it was really empty and they were giving out tote bags for the first 50 people and I was able to snag one! The guy at the register was super friendly too! He was really patient with my questions about their gift cards. All in all, I highly recommend you stop by Souplantation in Mira Mesa if you’re looking for non-Asian food.

Came here for lunch. The quality has gotten better but I think the food is still average. The salad bar has not changed and offers nothing new. I just remember there was no hard boiled eggs :/The best part is the the soup selection. My friend recommended I dropped a biscuit in a cup of chicken pot pie soup. Good call but split the biscuit with someone if you can. My fav is the chicken FAT noodle soup. This place is great for quick, healthy and good company. Enjoi!

Souplantation is the compromise you get when you marry the full over the top atmosphere of a buffet and an attempt at healthier fare. I say attempt because while I’d say that most of the choices are relatively healthy its obviously not going to be healthy to overeat the options they provide that are meant to be a smaller portion of your meal than the salad. They do everything they can to mitigate that though. They even make you get salad first, then pay, then go back for the starches, etc. After that nudging the choices you make you’ll have to live with them yourself. Choose a big beautiful salad, and don’t feel guilty when you indulge a little in the soups and pizzas, breads and baked potatoes. This particular location was just remodeled recently and it looks good on the inside. Slap a fresh coat of paint and tidy up and this place will be a regular place for people in Mira Mesa for years to come.

How can you not like choices? Alright some of you might think I’m crazy, but I really just love Souplantation. I love the idea that I can make my own salad and ask for the pre-made dressings on the side. I like their Chinese Chicken Salad but usually they saturate it with sauce. So instead of eating that I just ask for the sauce on the side. Next I just make my own salad. If you like things healthy I think that’s the way to go. Make your own salad and by having the dressing on the side you can portion control how much you are using. Also if you need some protein I like to get the chicken from the chicken noodle soup. Scoop only the chicken and shred it on the salad. Get all the good veggies such as spinach, mushrooms, bell peppers and so on. Yummy Salad. I’m so glad they have added sweet potato to their menu. I think it’s been around for awhile but many years ago it was only regular baked potato. That is another healthy option as well. All these healthy options for a place that can be so unhealthy for you if you do not choose wisely. My all time favorite is usually the corn bread. This location’s corn bread was just okay. I enjoy getting a little bit of everything. So fun to try out the different type of soups that are from different counties. It’s pretty awesome that they have a rotating menu. It’s good to try something new. Yay for Souplantation. Oh and who doesn’t love their coupon? Sign up for their club.

If I’m feeling healthy, I’ll go here. I would go here a lot after going to cycling class. Sign up for the veg-e club online. They’ll send you plenty of coupons that you can use from your phone. They changed the decorations in this location and it looks much nicer inside. I was sad when they took out the chicken from the wonton happiness salad. I still like it but it’s definitely missing the chicken. You took away the happiness! Lol. I usually load up my salad with onions, tomatoes, and egg for that extra protein. Can’t forget the strawberry lemonade, focaccia sticks, and blueberry muffin tops. Yes, just the tops. Although the whole blueberry muffin is good when it’s fresh out the oven. Soup is good also. It can be packed here at times but when it is they help you find a seat.

Sticking to my 1 star review. Paying the same amount as everyone else who comes«early» and have to deal with this. *see photos

A buffet you do not feel guilty going to! Customer service is great & the food is delicious! The servers are constantly switching out old food for new, fresh food so nothing tastes stale. I was glad to see that they now leave their famous chocolate chip cookies out(before, a server would go around the restaurant & offer one to you). Unfortunately, it is as hard as can be & the texture is more of a chip than a cookie. I love their seasonal salads & soups & you cannot go wrong with their bread section. Also, they now offer more toppings for your ice cream! Make sure to look for a coupon to get a discount on your meal!

This Souplantation is decent. Service is fast. I had no problem with this location’s food. However, there was one operational(?) issue: all the plates, cups and utensils… were very dirty. I don’t understand what is wrong. One of the ice cream cups still had oreo crumbs on them! Service is good. they clean the tables fast. Please keep the entire place clean too!

Let me start by saying that I am not a huge fan of buffets. Never have been, probably never will be. But, I’m a fan of this buffet because of the diversity of the options. They recently remodeled which was long over due for this location. Added some high tables, changed out the flooring and put a few hipster touches on the tables. I’m a fan. I won’t deny that! I’m impressed by their salad bar. Usually equipped with 3 different type of pre-made salads and then bins of fresh lettuce that you can add to them. Let me tell you that the bins are fresh! I’ve never once pulled out a soggy piece of lettuce that has started to turn to slime. I absolutely hate that! Never had that problem here. The only thing missing from it is the protein. While I enjoy beans, eggs and cheese, sometimes I’d like to be able to add grilled chicken! However, this isn’t an option anymore. I also enjoy all their soups. Made from scratch every day and delivered to the stores. I’ve tried a ton of them, and I’ve liked them all. My favorite: Potato Rosemary. YUmmmmm. Their flat breads are baked fresh and always hit the spot. They’ve added more ingredients to their baked potato bar, which is nice! More muffin options and different type of butters, too. You just can’t seem to go wrong. * They serve beer and wine now! But, if you don’t want an alcoholic beverage, GETTHEIRSTRAWBERRYLEMONADE. Impressed.

The food here is good and healthy for the most part. It’s a great«do-it» yourself buffet with your choice of toppings and sides. The prices are reasonable if you are part of their email club which you can enroll in on-line. But even if you’re not part of the email club, it is pretty inexpensive to eat here and you feel as if you’re getting your money’s worth. The service is always friendly and deserves 5 stars in that regard. Overall, its fast, easy and a good inexpensive little lunch spot.

I haven’t been to this location in over 10 years and I finally went yesterday and wow what a big improvement! They remodeled the entire inside and have new silverware, plates, and soup cups. I was very impressed with the upgrade and the food was great as well. I really enjoy the freshness of the salad bar and big plus for the creamy soy sesame dressing. All the food was excellent and I will definitely return to this location.
