One of my favorite N. county Pubs in Mira Mesa– great eats wing of fire or terriyakki wings, pizza or Irish Nachos, great home brews love the RED. My girlfriend and I enjoy adding Callahans to a movie night great to eat and get a little buzzed, full bar or micro brews before the movies. Lots of friendly people and seats, very large place, good parking.

Wings night on Wednesday is a fun time, I advise showing up after 8 to avoid waiting for a table. I love odering the roulette which has 2 suicide wings randomly placed in the pile. The hotness varies a lot depending on who is cooking. Sometimes I can manhandle the suicide wings other times they handle me. Lots of nice in house beer, I love the Infinitude IPA.

Their corned beef was delicious and the Irish«nachos» were pretty freaking amazing. The food was spot on, it was clean and the service was good. My only complaint was that being an Irish sports pub bar place, it was LOUD. Be prepared to scream at your mates if you go, which wouldn’t be a problem if you are there to get drunk and rowdy with 15 of your closest friends, but it kinda sucks if you just happen to like delicious corned beef with a big ol chunk of cabbage.

The food here is gross. I had the French dip, my fiancé had the guacamole burger, and my cousin had the sauerkraut. We were all disappointed with our. My fiancé sent his burger back and the waitress took it off the bill. The Irish mule was good. We won’t be coming back.

Go Dragons! Had my son’s soccer team season closeout lunch here. Great place for a gathering. We had the whole closed area to ourselves. I love this local bar and their selection of beer. This time I ordered the patty melt medium. Really yum. My daughter ordered the Buffalo style chicken wings. Wife ordered the chicken nachos. Btw, Callahan ’ s Irish nachos are better. Come here for great beer while watching sports in any room.

Sheppard’s Pie was too salty. It’s best eaten with a Guiness or some strong beer to even out the saltiness. Tacos were blah, but at least they were only $ 5.

Wing Wednesday! More like WAIT Wednesday! This place can get packed on Wednesday because of their 55cent wing night. The wait for your food may take a while if you don’t mind waiting. A couple of friends and I came here to try out the Roulette(I mixture of hot and suicide wings). Totally something interesting and fun lol since we all can’t handle spicy very. You’re better off going to Bdubs if you want a quality and fun wing night. If you want to grab a draft beer, go for it! Lots of great choices Friendly staff so don’t be afraid to ask for samples and recommendations!

PSA: they added garlic parmesan wings for wing wednesday and they are delicious! however, they did raise the price to $ 0.55 per wing(still worth it in my opinion) My friends and I came just in time for wing wednesday before the deal ended. The place seemed a little hectic and the servers seemed stressed, but our server was still super friendly and helpful, so pats on the back for him! However, the vegetables we ordered with our wings were gross, specifically the celery. they must’ve run out or something because they were scraggly, leafy, and just plain sad. If they couldn’t offer it for free because of quality, the least they could do is tell us about it so we could decide whether we still wanted it. Other than that, this is still my favorite wings place!

Football! Yes please. The bar seemed packed with fans so they sat us in the room to the right. Four TVs in each corner playing three different games. Everyone dawning their favorite sports jersey. Even a baby In a bar lol wearing Patriots onsie. too cute! Ordered biscuits and gravy with sausage also comes with eggs and $ 2.50 mimosas. While I anticipating my team to get in the game. Great go to sports bar. if you can find parking

Upon feasting on plates and plates of hot wings, I noticed a sign about Callahan’s Sunday brunch. $ 3 mimosas, blood mary’s etc. We decided to try it out! I was very pleased with Callahan’s brunch menu. My beau had their Cap’n crunch dipped french toast, and I had the Spanish Frittata. I could do without the sour cream next time, but the portions are huge and the food was good. I wish mimosas were bottomless, but honestly, 2 glasses will give me a good enough Sunday buzz. Sometimes service is just a tad slow, but keep in mind, the restaurant is pretty big in size.

Mira Mesa’s long time Irish Sports Pubar! Packed on most nights. I have been coming to Callahans since they were across the street in Mira Mesa Mall next to Mandarin House(20 years ago). Sometimes the service is good, sometimes it sucks. That’s Callahans. Depends on the Russian Roulette of servers. Great food, good prices, one of the best micro-brews in the city(which happens to be the world capital of Micro Brews… trust me, try the Callahans Red). Callahans is all about taking your time and enjoying your visitr, your food, and the company. If you’re in a hurry, go somewhere that sucks and you’ll get to eat faster.

Wing Wednesday deal is 50c wings. The wings here are really good. They get a 2 because their quality is inconsistent. I always go with friends and we usually get a few Russian Roulettes(18 regular wings and 2 suicide wings) except we make it 10 regular and 10 suicide. I have a high tolerance for spicy and their suicide wings are absolutely amazing. I love them every time I go. However, on a busy night, you could wait up to an hour to get seated. Then, after that, you could wait up to 30 minutes before you get your wings. My wait has never been less than 15 minutes. Two times we went, we actually got undercooked chicken after waiting ~20 minutes. They have great service and their wings taste really good, but the inconsistent cook on the wings is this places downside.

Cheap wings on wing night(Wednesday’s). All the young high school crowds will be here on this day. If you want to get seats early make sure you get there early enough to find parking and have your whole party be there. They have boneless wings now. I would say the ranch or other dipping sauces aren’t really all that great. I prefer to order the boneless wings dry with sauce on the side. Tater tots with cheese are also great to eat with the wings. If you dare, try the suicide wings, they are quite hot and will leave a long after burn. Careful though because the heat may affect your taste buds and the rest of your meal might not taste the same. I prefer the sweet Thai chili sauce and teriyaki. Good selection of beer with good custom house cocktails. Great spot to catch the game with their multiple TV screens. They charge gratituity if your party is over 6 people. You must order a drink to get wing night prices. I pretty much only go here for wing night. Typical go-to spot for the Mira Mesa locals. Stay open late.

Callahan’s is a place where you can have a beer and some decent appetizers. The décor is like any typical sport’s type bar. Nothing out of the ordinary. Familiar surroundings like you have been there before but haven’t. Came here after work to have a cold one and maybe some food. On this day, didn’t feel like fighting traffic right away on the ride home. So I decided to come in here and a Guinness sounded great right about now. Nice and malty. I paired that with Irish nachos. Sliced fried potatoes with salsa, beans, sour cream and cheese. It was messy but good. Definitely hit the spot after a long day on the job. Service was friendly but at times my server was no where to be found. Beer and food is pretty good. The bill was low. Not bad. I heard Wednesday is Wing Night. Might give it a try.

A classic for me since high school, especially for wing night on Wednesday. Wing Night — 50 cent wings, order in 4s, and you have to buy at least one drink. For a drink and about 10 wings, you’re looking at like $ 6 for a good meal. Wings are popular and flavorful. Thai Chili is a must try. Careful of the suicide wings. Even spicy lovers typically wince at the first bite. Beer — The most popular one is Blueberry Wheat. Love it, though it’s a little sweeter than you’d like and I’ve began to stray towards more IPA. Seating and service can get a little rough; for any party larger than 5 on wing night, you should definitely come by 640 before it starts at 7pm. The wait can be over an hour after that point

I came here for wing night and it was packed! .50 cent wings and you have to order in groups of 5. You also have to order a drink to get the deal. My and friend were placed in a back corner to be seated. After we got seated a big group right next to us was seated. Our waitress ignored us and took their order first. We waited over 15 mins to get a drink. A different waiter acknowledged that and apologized due to the fact that they were packed. I ordered 10thai chili wing and 10 hot wings. They were soo delicious! The skin was soft and not fried. The drink I got was root beer and because it’s on draft they do not do free refills. This root beer was strong, it tastes like those root beer hard candies. I would definitely come back on wing night despite the business. Loved how our server was super friendly under pressure.

I have only been here consistently only for their Wingnight Wednesdays and I have never came here once to try their regular a la carte menu. BUT reviewing just their wingnights… I always come here for wingnight and I have been a consistent regular since back in my high school years when I would come with my dance team for big team dinners on their patio. Only now they have added their boneless wings to their menu and only served bone-in traditional wings so i’m glad they’re keeping their menu nice and updated. I suggest coming early even right before wingnight starts so you can put your name in and get a spot first for wingnight. You will occasionally get those big high school groups(i would know I was one of them at one point) so plan accordingly on when to come in ! I usually get their hot, bbq, and teriyaki flavored wings. Which are all pretty tasty and it is nicely paired with ranch. I probably recommend their bbq the most because I absolutely love their sauce they drench their wings in. I have tried their thai chili and suicide flavors. BUTWARNING you must like and have a tolerance to super spicy wings if you order their suicide wings. Because they are pretty hot ! Probably so hot that they made 5 of the 6 guys who tried it in my party literally tear up and ask for milk to cool down their mouths. haha. My favorite part coming here is not only their wings but also their dessert ! Every time I eat there i must ALWAYS get a order of their grasshopper pie. Which i must say is SUPERBOMB. Its a mint chocolate chip ice cream pie with oreo cookie as the base which serves as the crust. Its topped with whip cream and chocolate syrup. Its really good and I definitely recommend to try it after a meal here ! Overall, their wingnight wednesdays are probably the best and its nearby my house so its very convenient ! Wings are great, i’ve heard countless people say that their beer is affordable and good too, and speed of service is on point as well !

I’ve been here a few times and it’s a pretty good spot to go to for drinks and a bite to eat. I recently came here for my wife’s birthday just to grab some drinks with friends. We went around 9−10PM. It wasn’t packed on a Saturday night. So we got a table pretty quickly and ordered drinks and some appetizers to snack on. The food was pretty good and came pretty quickly. The service was good as well. Overall, I would recommend this place if you want to grab some drinks and snacks if you’re in the Mira Mesa area. Good food, good service.

Many options for house beers at $ 3.50 for happy hour. I think the blueberry wheat is pretty good– not sweet or too tart. it was a balanced flavor, if that makes sense. Packs enough of a punch, I don’t remember the percentage. A lot of people seem to really dislike the wait for Wing Wednesday, which I have attended. If I was waiting, I wouldn’t be happy either cause yeah. the place gets really crowded and it can be a while. But when I did go — we had been camped out relaxing and drinking since the start of happy hour, and ordered wings right when the promotion started(I wish it was a bit earlier.6 instead of 7 would be good), and shared the«bucket» which had several flavors involved. The deal was very good — at the end of the evening, the check for two peoples’ 4 beers each and the wings, which were delicious, amounted to less than $ 20 a person. So good!

Due time to update my very first Unilocal Review! Callahan’s still a solid 4 star location. Most popular on Wednesday wing night and on St. Patrick’s Day… Callahan’s has been a staple in Mira Mesa as far as I could remember, even when they were still in their old spot across the street. On non event nights the place is still usually busy, they have plenty of TVs to watch your games and a good selection of beers and meals to keep you busy. Great local bar/food joint. What to know on Wednesday Wing Night. To participate in Wednesday wing night all you have to do is order a drink(alcoholic or non) and that qualifies you to order the Wing Special of wings at 50 cents each. Orders must be in increments of 5 per flavor(so 5 for $ 2.50). New in the last year… THEYLETYOUTAKELEFTOVERWINGSHOMENOW! Whoo hooo!!! Always been a past complaint because I always over order and feel like I’m wasting my leftover wings… now I can take them home and enjoy them later on! St. Patrick’s Day… if you’re looking for a busy St. Patrick’s day celebration full of green beer, beads and all… this is the place to you… just expect a long wait to get in. My favs(haven’t changed). Buffalo Wings, Spuddy Fries, Blueberry Wheat Beer. Yum!
