Love any coffee place that uses monkeys to keep the drinks warm! It certainly helps that the coffee is delicious too. I only drink plain lattes, but for those of you that like sweet drinks they had an impressive collection.

I came here randomly on a Sunday morning, hoping to get my coffee fix and not a doubt in the world that I did. At first, it surprised me. I wasn’t expecting a small kiosk type shop on a street corner off El Cajon Blvd, but when I came the barista was kind and welcoming. They have nice patio furniture to sit in the grass, and a few tables if you want to stay and enjoy your brew there. Also, even though it’s a busy street, the number of cars zooming by didn’t seem to bother me much, but I’m sure it’s a reason some people take theirs to-​go.
I ordered the Mexican Mocha (my usual) and a breakfast croissant. The croissant was a typical ham, egg and cheese, so personally I found nothing too special about it. It was something I could have easily made, and not out of a microwave, but no qualms against them here because I came for the coffee. I’m a bit of a picky drinker when it comes to Mexican Mochas, being my go-​to and I can say that I enjoyed it here.
The coffee you know is fresh, the smell just resonates all along the busy street. The barista was quick, kind and knew her stuff. My drink was the perfect temperature with just enough of the chocolate and chili flavors to hit but not hide the essence of it’s leader, the coffee.
Definitely enjoyed it here and I’m glad I found it, now if I’m sick of the other usual places I go, I have more options!

Not sure where to begin. My usual coffee place was busy and decided to give Spanky’s a try. When I walked up they had music playing from the outdoor speakers. Not sure you want to be playing music that has the N word and multiple other derogatory words. I ordered and Iced Americano, no milk or sugar. 15 minutes later I got what looks to be a latte. She apologized for the delay and I thought about confronting her about the wrong order. I was already running late and didn’t want to be late trying to get my money back. My fist clue should have been the mostly paid reviews on here. No pictures on most reviewers and few reviews on other places should have told me to stay clear. I’m not sure what happened to the owner’s response, but I feel sorry for you. I would never stand there and allow one of my employees to fail. If she was nervous and was struggling then why didn’t you jump in to help her? I’m not a renter in the College I am a home owner. I like supporting local businesses rather then line the pockets of corporate America. I was really in hopes of finding a new coffee place that is just blocks from my house. I feel I can’t go back to your place after your response back to me. I wish you all the luck and hope your business can make it.

Spanky’s coffee has the best service and prices. It is really good quality and taste delicious. I always get the white mocha ice coffee and she uses coffee powder, unlike Starbucks. The service always comes with a chocolate covered espresso bean and a smile. I highly recommended Spanky’s and it is the way to go when you need you’re coffee fix.

Simply the best coffee in San Diego. Good atmosphere and the drinks are amazing. If you want to start your day off great this is the place to go!

Best cup of fresh coffee in town hands down. Always fast and friendly service. Cute outside sitting area. Owner, Nicole makes every customer feel like family. Highly recommend.

Amazing espresso! Delicious smoothies! Stopped by here with my family and got the peanut butter smoothie (Incredible!!) for my son and white mocha espresso for me (also incredible). Agree with the last review, coffee here is definitely better than Starbucks.

Excellent! You can always judge a place by the basics, and my latte was delicious. Smooth but strong. Just how I like it! I will definitely be going back here again to try everything on the menu

Great iced Americano! Added the perfect amount of ½ and ½. Had some yummy looking smoothies I will have to try! The peanut butter one looked great. Nice grassy area with some chairs & Bistro table.
