This is a great Starbucks. I’m love the feel of independent or mom n’ pop restaurants, coffee shops, etc but this is pretty close or even better because the food and drink are reliable. I usually go in the mornings but the staff is often friendly, happy, joking, and/or singing. They know they’re regulars and greet them by their name and often know their order.

In my opinion the worker uses a little bit to much ice. Causing for me to sip up chunks of ice with flavor coffee.

When it comes to Starbucks stores, this one comes to mind for a place to enjoy the neighborhood. It tends to stay busier than most stores throughout the day and rush hour can be a nightmare considering the location. It has a good amount of seating both inside and out. The store is kept pretty clean. I found the customer service professional and friendly for the most part. Also, my orders come out fairly quick, though the line wasn’t that long for my visit. However, as usual, prices could always be better here. Overall, this Starbucks is a pretty good location to grab a drink if you are looking to stick around or live within walking distance. I’d recommend checking it out if you are an avid Starbucks fan and are in the area. Otherwise, there are other options worth considering if you’re in need of something more convenient and that matches or supersedes the same quality found at Starbucks.

My fiancé and I came in on a Sunday afternoon and sat down at a table. One of the workers came up to us within 1 – 2 minutes and said that we had to order something within 10 minutes or we had to leave. She said it is the busy season in the summer so that was their policy. We were waiting on another person and planned on sitting there to do some work for our wedding planning. Her demeanor was so insulting like we were criminals and if we didn’t leave she would call the cops. My fiancé and I are very well dressed and the comment was very unwarranted. The funny thing was there were two bums at separate tables(who could’ve ordered previously, I honestly don’t know) without drinks or food. Needless to say I bought a bottle of water and left as soon as our meeting was over. Starbucks just lost a gold card member and I will never visit any Starbucks ever again. The policy is fine but wait 10 minutes to casually address a customer instead of 1 – 2 minutes. Some people have manners and wait for the entire party to order.

Good location and not as congested as the one a block away. Most of the baristas are very friendly and the drinks I’ve ordered have been well made with no complaints. The outdoor patio is spacious and a good spot to sit down a spell and relax. The tables outside need to be wiped down regularly. Not sure who’s responsibility it is to clean up but someone needs to get on task here. Many times these tables are sticky, stained and downright disgusting. Also, in the mornings we have a cluster of middle-aged and entitled, white gay guys that like to have their unleashed dogs run around while they play frisbee with them despite the single, somewhat hidden, «dogs must be leashed» sign posted literally three feet away. Talk about having zero regard for patrons walking in and out of Starbucks while these animals hop around. A nurse from UCSD almost fell on her face a few months ago as she was walking out with a tray of drinks. The dog by the name of Kelly got right in front of her path as it was running back and forth. This is a huge liability not only for the property owners and Starbucks, but also for Kelly’s owner who makes it a point to not give a rat’s ass. His blatant disregard for others safety can cost him dearly if he’s sued. What also adds to the issue is that security is WORTHLESS and does not enforce this policy whatsoever. Also, the patio furniture where these clowns congregate is constantly infested with dog hair. Recently, I saw one of the two dogs that are there in the mornings take a huge crap in the landscaping behind the seating area. Owners did nothing.

Great staff and a huge outdoor(dog friendly) seating area. Parking lot is shared with Trader Joes and Ralphs so sometimes it’s tough to grab a spot.

This is probably on of the better Starbucks. The staff is very prompt and courteous. I have never gotten a bad coffee drink here, everytime it’s perfect. Great place to people watch also, there is a large patio area.

I go to a lot of different StarBucks throughout the San Diego area and they always fall into one of two categories. The first category has a nice, attentive, and caring staff. They remember you and they know what you like, and they don’t charge you for flavor syrups. Then there is the second category, just nice enough not to piss you off, they never go out of their way, and they charge you for every thing, syrups, milks, whatever. I think I’ll stick with the first category!

The wait time here is incredibly long regardless of what time of the day that you stop in. The staff is hit or miss. Less than the experience I’d expect from Starbucks.

It’s back to good service, so you get your be more star back. My order was ready quickly without problem and the flies are gone. Thanks Starbucks! Keep it up and I’ll give you the 5th star. That one is reserved for consistency. ;-)

Wow! Not only was the person taking my order rude but the barista iced the cake with her standoffish attitude. Other customers waiting for their coffee were commenting that they felt like the employees were annoyed at us for buying coffee. I was on my way to rite aide and thought I’d grab a coffee as I walked by. Wish I hadn’t. If you’re a Starbucks manager and your reading this, you should take an incognito visit to this location on a Monday morning at around 9 a. m and observe how your morning staff treats the clientele.

This Starbucks caters locals and folks who live in the area, grab their drink and off to work. The outdoor patio is being renovated reflecting an artsy look. Great conversations, vibe, ambiance. Friendly dogs, the yoga/gym hotties old, young, the passing crazy homeless off to recycle their cans. The property is clean, and they have housekeeping staff and courtesy patrols to make sure everything is clean, safe and vibrant. The staff… Awesome. I wish I knew the managers name… she is so friendly and caring. The baristas are amazing and overall polite, will remember your drink and have it started for you. Steven is one of the friendliest and helpful baristas. His smiling face is a start to a great morning. They have updated the queuing line. It starts near the display case of goodies at the far east end of the interior space. Makes sense when the lines get long and you actually can see the breakfast items and eatables.

Review is for the service! The girls here are snobs, the boys are way more friendlier. Gave $ 1 for a $ 3.25 drinks and didn’t get a thank you, she looked like she didn’t even want to be there taking my order. She’s lucky she didn’t wear name tag, otherwise she’d be a new Unilocal star!

I love this Starbucks location! The staff is always kind and in good spirits. I ordered a grande zen green tea and was offered honey to go with it; I usually have to ask for it since it’s not usually offered. Ample seating inside and beautiful sitting area outside.

In the mood for my usual Caffe Latte with Skim Milk and 3 Honey packets plus a dash of cinnamon… I decide to try a new drink. The Hazelnut Macchiato cold. I ask for little ice. Not knowing I would receive more milk. I jump back in line to order my «usual». The cashier explains that is what you receive when you ask for less ice. Completely not acceptable! Plus, the cashier had a negative attitude from the start. When I received my Latte, I always go to their prep counter. They were out of cinnamon! How is that possible? I go back to the counter asking if they have more. The cashier tells me they are out. There was another woman working behind the counter, who was much more friendly and helpful. She hands over the cinnamon they have behind the counter. Thank you to her. Overall, this place receives 2 Stars. There are 3 other locations on University Ave. in addition to this one.

I like this Starbucks. I can usually always find a good seat. I get a smile every time I order. My drinks and food are always correct. The place is clean and in a safe spot. Parking can be a challenge though. Yesterday, in particular, I was treated very kindly and felt very cared about. I am fan.
