Studio A Salon & Day Spa

Omg, I’m so bummed this place closed!!! I’d finally found a place that did my hair well. Went there to get hair cut, colored, relaxed and set for a wedding, all at different times. They did a great job each and every time. And I have really tough hair to shape and am really hard to please. Wherever do I go now!!!

BUMMER! THIS PLACE IS NOW CLOSED DOWN. Drove by the empty storefront with a «For Lease» sign in the window and wanted to cry. I need a massage!

Because I went to Studio A this weekend.
From the moment I scheduled my appointment with Skip after I received a gift certificate, I knew I was in for a very pampering experience. Skip informed me that there was a baseball game that afternoon and said he would move his car to make room for me. Luckily, there was some street parking available, despite the fact I loathe parallel parking… especially in front of a group of good looking gentlemen who happen to be watching me (or might’ve been watching, but I just like the pretend all eyes are on me sometimes)
Nestled between the trolley tracks adjacent to Petco Park, it’s an oasis among downtown San Diego’s busy Friday afternoon pace. Upon entrance of the salon, I was immediately at ease. I was whisked away to the relaxing spa room by Kimberly who was performing my facial and massage. I changed into a towel, and hopped on the chair. In seconds, I was relaxed by the soothing tunes playing and the dim lighting.
Long story short… I felt amazing afterwards. Everything was amazing:
Steam, Massage [calming], Exfoliation [gentle], Extraction [painless]
Then, she gave me an analysis of my skin. Unfortunately, I have oily skin and instead of trying to sell me some expensive concoction sitting on the salon’s shelf, she advised me to buy some products in the drug store which would total $ 20 and to quit using ProActive which I had been using. She was so honest and professional with over 17 years of experience under her belt.
Kimberly is now my esthetician. She will be forming my minifacials, massages and other duties that I will need. I’m so glad I came here.
I seriously feel like a million bucks and its been 3 days since the facial. My skin looks radiant and I can’t stop smilng. If you live or work around this area… PLEASE, PLEASE PLEEEASE do yourself a favor and come here. If you leave 15 – 20 min away like I do, GET YOUR BUTT OVER HERE! It’s so worth it.
After the spa sesh, indulge in a hot dog from the corner.
