I was really intrigued by the array of beautiful garments in their display window so naturally I went in to shop. Free store was lovely beautiful free people and gypsy rose style fabrics. Love this style very much. But was quickly turned off by this lady behind the counter. When I asked about a few of the display items she spoke in an incredibly condescending manner as to their beauty and quickly informed me that they were way too expensive, as to assume I couldn’t afford these items. Excuse me, but if you are going to be a proper sales women don’t pretend to now my financial situation. Unless of course you aren’t in the business to sell. In which case, don’t have a clothing store. I would have happily loved to take home one or two of the garments had this woman not been so incredibly rude. Now I most definitely never be going back to your store.

I absolute adore the originality of this store. The staff is always so friendly. The clearance rack is fantastic. It’s like a store with something unique for every kind of person. Not one item the same. Very original. I have always been treated with complete respect. Very cute skirts for all shapes and sizes. If you like tye dyed clothing or the grateful dead then you will love sunshine daydreams!

This place is a great place to get drunk! We took advantage of the $ 9 pitcher special while it lasted and stayed for a few more. This place is open and has a lot of room for groups. We didn’t get a chance to sit up top and enjoy the view, but I heard it was cool. The crowd was great and everyone was super friendly. We even met some new people to play pool with. Great place for Sunday Funday!

I love this place. It smells of patchouli and Kathmandu. The owner is so sweet and will help you shop(personal shopper status) if she’s not busy. I always end up buying something here. Thanks for the flashback to 1960’s!

Yay, a clothing store where almost all items off the rack are made in India! No Communist slave labor! I have bought a few dresses, skirts and shawls here over the past 7 years and was happy with all my purchaces! The dresses and skirts come in a rainbow of colors and with their sweeping layers of fabrics and embroidery are reminiscent of middle earth elven attire. Unique style and decent prices.

Love this store and the people who work here. I literally want everything they sell. Prices are better than most places for the things they offer. Super hippie dippie vibe but you can find something for everyone here. Great for gifts too. The lady who owns it has a great eye and will help you choose between outfits too. This place is a win for sure.

Incense 15 for $ 1.00 which is a great price however, If I wanted to put them in seperate bags by scent I have to pay an extra 5 cents a bag? Really? I think not.

You know what? It’s hard for an older hippie chick to find fat girl friendly tie dye dresses. Sunshine Daydreams make the dream a reality. I’ve been getting my dresses here for years and I love them. i don’t know how many of us plus sized ladies are buying them, but they keep stocking them. Love this place. And talking music with the dude who I think is one of the owners is always a trip.

After years of wanting to be able to afford to shop here, I finally got the chance to. I purchased a skirt and a top and both were terribly defective. The top was poorly sewn and the skirt fell apart after one use as if it were made out of paper! I wasn’t able to return the item because I don’t live there. I found that the items were made in Indonesia, so they probably were not fair trade. I’m truly disappointed!

I really like this little hippie clothing store… unfortunately, this visit I didn’t try anything on(assuming that hippies cut shirts/dresses more generously than most) and I will have to return those items. My bad, there are dressing rooms for just this issue. I did pick up an awesome green pig change purse that fits my ipod, ear buds, and usb cable perfectly and it is adorable! Hopefully they take returns…

Great experience. Answered all of my questions and was exceptionally nice. Had many tapestries to choose from, even though someone had purchased 9 earlier that day.

Great selection of funky clothes. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. The only drawback is that for plus size women, much of what they have is a little unflattering and frumpy. You really have to sift through to find something that isn’t too conservative.

Super-awesome hippy boutique. They always order the same clothes so if you rip your Guayabera or pants you can 99% get the exact same one 2 years later in the same color and size. They’ve got drums, art, and everything else you could want to hippy out your space, ie Tibetan Prayer Flags, incense, tapestries etc. As others have said, the owner and her husband are super-chill, feel free to talk to them about life, philosophy, whatever, you might just learn something. At the very least it’ll be a cool story to hear.

This place takes me back to my early twenties. Ya know, the days of tapestries and insence, listening to Janis Joplin, and the obviously the Greatful Dead, and I have to admit I put on the China Cat Sunflower right after I left. God I wish I still had no responsibility anymore. Anyway I am diverting, amongst all the smoke, about this eclectic little store tucked in a shop right in the perfect place, Newport Ave. This part of SD that never left the sixties, that was made famous in the movie Almost Famous by the way, is perfect for Sunshine Daydreams. The owner, a woman and her husband, that still drive an old VW bus, which she loves to talk about, and I mean what else would you think they would have a beemer, No… I really like the selection of memorabilia, art, jewelery, clothes, and other odds and ends. If you are ever in OB take a peek inside and say hello, It will mellow you out a little…

I love coming in here when I visit San Diego. Great little hippie boutique. There are pretty dresses and other hippie-styled clothing along with cute belts, purses, coin purses, and now cool leg warmers and arm warmers. The woman who owns the store is always in here when I have visited and she is so friendly and down-to-earth, as an owner of a cute shop in OB should be :) I don’t always find something to buy, but I always come back to look. Stop in sometime.
